    The combine lead/boulder is very appealing imo. More so than boulder and lead separate.

    Mejdi is only 2 points behind Sam and 7 pts behind Paul so the hope is still there, right?

    I really do hope that bouldering and lead will be separate disciplines next Olympic. Compared to speed, I felt that the climbers for boulder and lead have harder and more tiring comp.

      Well of course they do. This has always been a compromise.

    He is good at parkour... At more classic bouldering or rope climbing he has proven to be weaker than other competitors... I really love this format because it showcases a more classic style of setting and really proves that the wc´s of bouldering had become a thing on their own.

      And gotta say, its pretty clear that medji needs to improve in more "normal" climbing. He can do very very good at new style bouldering but in other styles... i dont know. It feels similar with Max Milne (on a different level but it´s kinda similar). In the same way it would be a pity not having Stefano on the comp but, he is not complete so, why should we expect him to qualify?? I think its similar with medji, but i think its going to be really close

      Wc-circuit has bouldering format also ??? I thought it only organized a Gibbon-Parkour-Ninja competition this year 🤔

    I thought winter Olympics have to involve either snow or ice

    Add some ice climbing as the fourth medal!

  • @burnheart123
    @burnheart123 Před 24 dny

    All disciplines at the Winter Olympics contain some form of "Sliding on snow or ice".
    I'm not sure if that's a requirement, but (non-ice)-Climbing would definitely be the odd one out.

    mejdi placed 15th and 20th on his two lead routes. this isnt an adam ondra stepping on a bolt situation. he got beat. paul and sam aren't coming out of nowhere, in fact sam beat mejdi in all three rounds of the european qualifier. Sure he's had some electric performances (lots of instagram followers), but this assertion that he's the "best" is very off.

      If you're arguing with my thumbnail then fair enough, but I think I was careful in the vid to specify that he's the best *boulderer* lately and that his performance in the B+L pathway has been a failure. 100% correct that he's getting legitimately beat!

    Maybe he’s got stuff going on inside his head . We’ve all seen his potential. Mind mentality goes a long way and stress at some point affects us all

    Absolutely agree that comps should be indoors and climate controlled. Competitive climbing has long left behind the idea that it needs to replicate outdoor climbing, so it makes more sense competitively to try to control for the variable of weather that can wildly change the feel of a route. Plus it would be great to add some more exciting sports to the winter olympics

    Great video but i dont think mejdis the best i think sorato is much better in bouldering and lead.

    Mejdi was a little bit better than Tomoa last year and finished top ranked in 2023 in my analysis at AscentStats. He can definitely turn it around and I expect to see him in the final at the second event.

    Mejdi is more talented than Sam for sure but his performance seems to yoyo quite a bit.
