#1: Irregularities on the part of land Lord are reflected through their deal before renting out their property to avoid legal formalities to save tax which is not desirable anywhere ( Canada or India🇮🇳)
#2: The fake couple took the possession of house as tenants through illegal modus operandi & further sublet the house to students / bachelors - whatever! This seems to be a case of their regular business to earn more money to sublet the house to numerous persons😢
#3: Consumption of 🥃 liquor is common, hence the charges levelled against the illegal youths can't be denied.

This happened to me in uk, I’m Indian, rented to an Indian couple, then whenever I went there I saw more mattreses in each room and different people, then I hardly saw the original tenants, when they left it was different people who moved out, our people cheat each other, it’s so sad,mi tried to help being an Indian myself who came to uk knowing how hard it is for newcomers, they took my kindness and shit all over it

It is these home owners' responsibility to somehow accommodate these angel tenants regardless of how the interest rates impact the overall housing market for buying or renting. Tenants should be immune to the rising rate of interest and must be protected. If Home owners can't afford higher mortgage then that is their problem ...and that should not be passed on the tenants. The question is where is the Lease Agreement between the Landlord & the tenants, stating
1. the name of the tenants (including the number of people & children going to live in the Lease Agreement)?
2.the rental to be paid by the tenants?
If the Landlord do not have the Lease Agreement, these students at most times will bring in others to stay also in order to save on rental.
Further, is the Landlord not violating the Canadian Law by not declaring the OTHER income earned via renting?
This is a direct lease without involving real estate. Saving money

Just include in the lease agreement that tenants aren't allowed to have visitors. Anyone who is there that isn't on the lease agreement is trespassing.
You cannot stop visitors all together. You have to realize you are providing a HOME to REAL PEOPLE. Put yourself in their shoes.
a clause in the lease about $50 per overnight visitor per night..is a better deal..adds up to 1500$/month...IT is also a good deterrent. I have had tenants have someone for 15 days and pay the $750. they seem fine with it, if not dettered. You will make money back for utilities, your tightassness of someone living off you (justified), and then some profit on top.
