About 15 years ago I stood next to Paul Weller while our kids played on a climbing frame in Coram's Field in London, he was holding a half-eaten cupcake. We didn't speak but gave each other a knowing 'alright' nod.
He would have appreciated that more than you know. He was with his kids, he was being dad, not the Modfather that day.
My ever changing moods, was the track that made( a counclier for life)me reflect on everything in my then 17 year old mind. I dont know why but after all these decades(I'm 56) this track still makes me cry.🎉🎉🎉

Style Council and XTC two of the most underrated bands of all time. Some of the best arrangements and thought provoking lyrics. Council reunion! Let's go!!!!!
I don' t remember seeing XTC but I did see The Style Council at the Beverly Theatre in Los Angeles.
Believe it or not, in Japan , Style Council songs are very popular among those who spent their 20s in '80. Maybe more popular than Jam songs.

Headstart for Happiness takes me back to 1983 more than any other track he wrote that year. It’s like an emotional recall. 40 years melts away.

The first two Style Council albums (on cassette ) got me through some very serious surgeries when I was a teenager. It’s a bit of my life that I will always remember ❤. And I hope those nurses learned to appreciate the music! Forty years on , gonna shout to the top!!!

The Style Council - such an underrated band. Fantastic back catalogue that goes well beyond their hit singles.
Underrated by whom? They were hugely popular in their day and I'm sure even most diehard Jam fans will have appreciated their music. It's all the musical genius of Paul Weller after all.
