I think warranty are decided on one of the two things- 1. Product ka life cycle testing. If they know failure rate of their product over a period of year, they will set warranty and price accordingly. Like you make a product called ABC, you do your testing and you find your failure rate over year 1 and 2 is 5% only, then you can charge more but against that charge you can give 2 years warranty.
2. Another factor is competition, on the same price range what does the competitor are giving.
I am not an expert of warranty setting 🤪 but generally these 2 factors determines warranty factors as per my research done almost a year back.
