P.S. This is my fave Tove Lo album!! While I love and appreciate the 2nd half lyrically, I tend to gravitate to the 1st half more overall with all the banggin’ production and topics (mostly hehe). I def recommend giving this album more listens, that’s what helped me fall in love with it more and more 😍😍😍 Glad you enjoyed it, and hope you’re doing well where you are!! ❣️❣️❣️

this album has gotten be through so many lows, that its definitely got some bias for me. so glad you reacted to it! now you gotta react to Sunshine Kitty BUT (and i know you dont do this often) you HAVE to listen to the extended edition of it the Paw Prints Edition, because it has some really really great songs in there!

Woo! Thank you for reacting - I have such a vivid internal visitation of this album that I have with very few albums. Shame it didn't get the attention it deserved. I'd also let Disco Tits grow on you as it was my favourite lead single (but I actually listen to Light Beams in reverse order because of something I read online about it being the order they were experienced by Tove - I have no source so maybe i'm just weird XD)
bitches actually has a remix with Charli xcx, icona pop and Alma - lyrics are the same but the delivery is a fun mix up.
I think my favourites are stranger, hey you got drugs, struggle, bad days and 9th of October. I love Tove Lo but those sadder lyrics really are the ones that hit harder. I think that is why Lady Wood was least favourite album with this album being my favourite. Definitely swap between having the other albums as my second favourite, though if you listen to Sunshine Kitty I would recommend the deluxe tracks (even if only in your own time/an additional video)

Tove once said that this album should be listened backwards. She wrote "Pitch Black" chapter when she was not in good place mentally. "Light Beams" chapter more fun and positive (dont ask dont tell says hi but yes)

Was a bit disappointed by you not liking some of my faves, I was the biggest Tove stan by the time this came out but actually I remember being SO confused by disco tits as a lead for a while, shedontknow and cycles were also my least favorite, along with the weird don't ask placement. They really grow a lot with time tho.
Definitely my favorite Tove album, it came out in the darkest time of my life while I was dealing with depression, toxic relationships and drugs/sex as a coping mechanisms. Still use it as a bad days catharsis album lol.
Also pls DON'T listen to the Deluxe of Sunshine Kitty on your first reaction, the OG album also had a thought out tracklist and they just slapped some random (very good) tracks before the intro merely for streaming purposes.
Maybe listen to them after the standard edition?

But the two albums are obviously very sad.
Ladywood is basically a boner and Blue Lips is a play on blue balls. As far as I understand she's telling with the first three parts that whenever she tries to enjoy life and live freely and excited (ladywood/a boner is a metaphor for that) and it keeps going like that. Part 1, part 2 and back to part 1 (a CYCLE) That's why LW ends with "fuck, I need another" She gets back to Fairy dust.
With Blue Lips she's starting to realise that she'll never get the satisfaction life is giving her/a climax, she's getting Blue Lips/Blue Balls. With the first part she's still living the Ladywood life while she's getting aware she's not happy with that life. She's still trying to get that satisfaction. Her last Ladywood attempt is Bitches and kind of saying to herself "fuck it, I don't need love. I just wanna have fun and sex" with the fourth and final part she realises she actually wants and needs love and to feel loved, she's aware of the cycle she's in and is desperate for love and looking for it. With the last few songs it sounds like she's in a relationship which was too intense and ended. With the last song she's finally giving up on the whole love aspect, she's tired and she's done. She KNOWS she has her fans and that they love her, but she doesn't FEEL it. The only way for her to be able to feel loved is with drugs.
