  • @sitabird
    @sitabird Před 2 lety +31

    Thank you for explaining the difference between fragrance free and unscented! I always wondered about this.
    My philosophy on health is to reduce as many negatives as possible and include as many positives as possible, without stressing about it if it’s not perfect. Because I think there is a threshold of how many “toxins” or free radicals or stressors or whatever that’s bad for your body to handle before it starts to develop diseases. Of course sometimes you can’t prevent diseases, but a lot of times you can.
    I still think it’s sketchy that parabens build up in tissue, there must be a threshold of how much parabens the body can take before it starts to cause a disfunction. So I try to stay away from parabens as much as possible, but if the best product for my skin has parabens in it, I’m not going to stress about it. Because in that situation the positives outweigh the negatives and stressing about it would only make my whole philosophy moot, because stress is the worst! lol.

    • @aliesefitch1099
      @aliesefitch1099 Před 2 lety

      Agreed!!!!

    • @Spiritualsciencehealing
      @Spiritualsciencehealing Před 2 lety +1

      Okay but the thing is, parabens are removed from the body in 36 hours after being broken down by certain enzymes in the skin, they are even produced in the body by breakdown of amino acids. They are even found in fruits and vegetables if a person wanted to avoid parabens, they'd have to stop eating those fruits and vegetables which contain them. So I feel like if you are trying to 100% avoid parabens, its stupid. If its gonna get removed from the body and its even found in what you eat, there's no reason to avoid it unless you actually have any other problems with it which is a rare occurrence. The amount its used in products is super low, its not enough to really cause an issue, so even if you have multiple products with parabens or sources of them, you'd have to have them in a humongous amount to actually show some sort of effect. They really are super effective as a preservative and one of the most researched one as well.

      @jenniferpetty5238 Před 2 lety +1

      I can’t put vitamin c on my face due to irritation from rosacea so I use a green tea antioxidant with reservatrol. It’s from Dr. Bailey’s line and it is expensive but it’s the only one I can tolerate. It’s reduced the redness and melasma but then I also put a gram of sulfur crystals in my coffee and take it with grape seed extract, oral vitamin c capsule and 50mg of vitamin e too. In five months my bright red face is now a light pink. I tried the prescription stuff for rosacea for a year and it didn’t help.

    There are a lot of smaller brands driven by science that use parabens such as Stratia. I think it’s great and wish parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil, silicones etc were used more often as they are most effective! We will have nothing left if people keep demonising ingredients.

    Fantastic video !!! You are an excellent teacher, I love learning from you about beauty and skincare. You are so right about mineral oil, it’s extremely excellent occlusive in creams etc- my skin is so thankful for the Cetaphil moisturisers available for sensitive skin.
    Love your personality and vitality.
    Beautiful woman!

    Only 3 minutes in but let me thank you for listing Wal-Mart as a beauty store. It's not glamorous but it is reality for so many of us and very refreshing to hear, thank you thank you thank you.

    I'm watching this Monday evening so I hope you read this. I loved this video! I learned why parabens are not bad for you a while ago and I'm so glad you educated us on the topic that they are harmless preservatives. I loved you taking your time on your intro for those that are new and who do not know you or where you are located. I also loved you slamming your hands on your desk. Ha ha Your children are so adorable! I'm also so glad that you got picked for Pique tea to sponsor part of your video and that they sent you the flavor you prefer. Wonderful!

    I can totally understand why it’s difficult for a small brand to fight mis-information.
    But! I wish you would reconsider, you have made me understand and not be scared of them anymore and I truly think you can jump, shout and re-educate the consumer.
    You will get a lot of PR with your qualifications and experience backing up your opinion. ♥️♥️♥️

    Thank you for making these videos, I am so thankful to have found your channel. I'm entering my 30s now and want to add things to my VERY sensitive/reactive skin (eczema/dry prone) to get an even tone and texture to my skin. One product/ingredient I keep seeing that I'd love to know more about from you is CERAMIDES.

    6!! Yes!! I Love biore cleansing oil ever since I found the products at the store near my house. At that time I don’t know what mineral oil is and keep using it. But because some clean-beauty concerns about cyclopentasiloxane I stopped using it. I can’t wait to buy it again after I finished my not-so-practical cleansing balm.

    I would LOVE to see a video on what a skin care regime should entail if you're starting later than your 20s. I'm 39 and have gotten really into skincare in the last couple years but it would be nice to know what treatments I should focus more on and if any brands out there are geared more towards someone in their lay 30s-40s. I trust your opinion and you always give great advice so any advice in this subject would be most appreciated!!

    Thank you for all your very trustworthy -informative info on skin! Things that my dermatologist doesn’t go into detail and tell me. Anyways can we see a video about LED red light therapy , does that really help with skin as well?!
