    My handover was less than 10 minutes, and I've learnt so much from your video, thank you.

    Very helpful. Got more info from this video than from my installers. In fact I got no info from my installers.

      That’s really bad, this is the most important part of the installation and reduces any call backs for the installer.

    Excellent explanation thanks. My installer was very comprehensive with the handover but there’s lots to remember so I’ll save this for future reference thanks ❤

    very good, half of these things were not done with my installer. And it certainly didn't take him more than 15 minutes to walk me through these things. But then, I think he took me for a smart guy who knows most of these things already - which was nice :)

    Thanks, always enjoy these videos. I'm a heat pump convert and will probably get one in the future.
    I think some kind of label maker would be a good idea, and then go nuts on everything so the home owner can see what everything is/does.

    I wish I had all this info when I had my hp installed. I had mine as part of a new build and I had to message them to ask how to turn it on! This after finding the control unit in a box on top of my hw cylinder! After that I had to balance my radiators and found an airlock I had to sort too!!! This video makes me realise how bad some installers are!!

    The only thing they told me was about those two switches for the water pressure. They were in such a hurry to get away. And the two switches I can’t turn!

    Hi Ecobuble
    Can i ask a couple of questions?
    1- An ASHP will produce 10-15 litres per hour of condense discharge, this seem a large number unless always in defrost mode?
    2- gylcol is pink and green, where do i buy this blue stuff?
    3- Why are you using a telford cylinder instead of a daiken one are they better?
    4- that looks a very small cylinder maybe 120-150L is it a 1 bed property?
    5- Seprate zone valve with high limit stat(not using daiken esma valve?)not a causes load of issues?
    6- Lever valve on hot water outlet, seen this before but cant be good practice?
    7- the size of that outdoor unit is massive, go back to number 4?
    8- wheres the isolator for the imersion heater?
    9- wheres the fused spare for the separate high limit stat, is it that on the right thats not labeled up?
    10- red ring of death is robbed from xbox when it meant it was fecked, doubt daiken like that term?
    11- The handover probaly took longer than it took the spark to lash them cables everwhere.

    Quick question, would it not be more efficient to run the heat pump on excess solar and pump that heat into the house than to use a immersion heater at 1:1

    My handover was neither comprehensive nor reassuring. Luckily for me I asked lots of the important questions all week long during the install. I also spent countless hours researching and learning about the system long before the install went ahead. I can't blame the lead engineer for the brief handover, I guess after the week in my house he had clocked me as an annoying know-it-all customer.
    So far, so good.

    • @ecobubl
      @ecobubl  Před 8 měsíci +4

      You have no heating like everyone else even with boilers, unless you have a woodburner, or a large battery backup. 😀

    • @glenhudson8070
      @glenhudson8070 Před 8 měsíci +2

      What's the point then? You freeze until power comes back on? Or you have a back up? Heat pumps are tremendously expensive in the winter way beyond gas or wood. What's the point having one in the first place when you need a back up system.

    • @MrMax4music
      @MrMax4music Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@glenhudson8070 A gas or oil boiler wont run without electricity either. You have a back up for those?

    • @don1estelle
      @don1estelle Před 8 měsíci

      If you are a Vulnerable Person who needs your Gas or oil heating to stay on you will need a UPS in line with your Boiler! or if its on a plug top it might be easyer to install or swap to a camping type Backup in the event of a Power Cut or Outage if your American.

    • @sailingoctopus1
      @sailingoctopus1 Před 8 měsíci

      If you have an electric car with Vehicle To Load (V2L) capability, like me, you just plug the heat pump into the car and you have heating for days.
      Anyway, power outages are incredibly rare. I live in a remote location on a Scottish Island and haven't had an unplanned outage since Snowmaggedon in 2010, when we were without power for ten days. That was a once in a hundred years event and we were fine. Had we had an EV and a heat pump we would have barely been inconvenienced.
