Yes, so much. Your experience has changed you. Your voice is both more controlled and more natural. Working with other singers and musicians has improved your skills, techniques and, especially, your harmonies. Your voice has gone from that of a talented youth to a confident woman. Your life experiences since then have also added to & shaped the emotion & depth of your songs. I love your work.
Ps. I would love it if, one day, you did a Siouxsie Sue cover - either the Banshees or the Creatures.
For a 14-year-old that was pretty freaking amazing. Of course, you've improved, you have so much more confidence and control, but appreciate the talent you had all the way back then. No cringe at all.
Most 14-year-olds would DIE to be able to sing the way you could! Give yourself some credit girl. BTW, your cover of "Take Me to Church" absolutely KILLS!!! Way better than anything I've heard on the radio in ages! Why is it not a monster hit?

Violet, your voice has changed in 14 years. It has become deeper and richer than when when you were 14. What has changed more is your confidence in your abilities. You’ve worked hard to create a richer, deeper voice and also a greater range. But the seeds of what you are were planted then; they’re just reaching when they’ve bloomed.
You've turned youthful enthusiasm into a tenured profession, most people can only dream of that. Both your current and 14 y/o versions had me sitting at my desk, my chin resting on the palms of my hands, smile curling on my face, thoroughly enjoying both renditions and your witticism about the self reflection of your 14 y/o version. At 14 you sounded amazing! I think your voice matured and like fine wine got better with time and experience. It's not so much you improved, it's that you have grown. I love all your work, I have introduced your videos to many people and keep doing that because you are amazing as a singer and a person.
I don't think 14-year-old you was delusional at all about how great a singer you are. All the greatest singers started somewhere, yourself included :)

Honestly. 14 yo Violet had an amazing voice, for 14. 14 years of practice and training will do wonders for someone with talent, which you have in abundance. Your voice is unusual ,(not in a bad way!)in that it isn't a crystal shattering soprano, like most female singers. Love listening to your work. ❤❤❤

I believe that your voice has definitely matured Violet. I personally how you sounded like such a baby compared to now. That's what makes those first recordings of you so cute. Yes I have to agree it does take confidence in one self to not only record yourself singing but even more so to put on some music sharing service. You sounded good then as well. Of course you have an extremely good and mature voice now. I still think of how you broke down and cried when Halocene played something you did as a child, to you. I feel you there. I guess we are reminded of a time before our lives got severely de-railed by the death of our closes loved one. In your case it was when you still had your mom and in my case is when I still had my wife, who passed away. Often if I see or hear something that we listened to or watched together, or if I see or hear something that I think she would have liked, a dark shadow of sadness jumps in often taking me to tears. In a strange macabre way you bring me some joy, thanks for that. I do love your voice. You are an amazing person.

There's a little quiver in your younger voice that's very reminiscent of Emilie Autumn at times. I know you weren't as experienced then as you are now, but I still think your 14 y/o rendition was really lovely. I'm glad you had the courage to share both versions! Your transformation is really quite striking and it's cool getting to listen to both!

It's much better for an artist to improve over time than to peak early and go downhill from there. It really is wild to hear just how much higher your voice used to be, and thankfully it was still pleasant to listen to!
Loving all two version, in the recent one you can see te improvement and the technique learned along the way, in the original it's clear the spirit and the wanting of getting involved in the music world. It's a true bless being able to listen to this and compare the two version. ❤
Dude you're better now, of course. But what you had to build on was amazing! What I'm hearing from 14-yr-old VO - solid intuition, confidence across a pretty decent range, esp. for a kid, in tune, in key - really, really good. Now - def one of the best vocalists out there. Thanks for the music!!

I been listening for 5 years or 6 now and, yes, your voice has the ability to go into some new territories. Watching your Owner of the Broken Heart video shows the new levels of depth your voice can travel is a pretty good example. I'm still listening and many more long-term fans to you, Violet!!

You can hear many of the beginnings of good voice control then. I bet you thought you had to sing higher pitch then so hadn't worked on your lower pitch. But experience has refined your voice and understanding of doing covers so you have developed very beautifully. Impressive at 14 and astounding at 28. Awesome!
I have found you thereabout 3 years ago. If i had found you 14 years ago, i had said to the 14 year old you: You have talent and you have passion for doing music. There is a long hard way to go, before you are a realy great singer. Your tone has gotten warmer and richer, I prefer a vocalist with good tone and control over the screaming or overly operatic styles. I would have never thought, listening to young Violet, that you would become the you, you are today.
