Diego Simeone is the face of AtlĂ©tico Madrid and has been since taking over as head coach in December of 2011. But behind him is a man whose presence is as vital as it is understated. That man is GermĂĄn AdriĂĄn RamĂłn Burgos, often known by his nickname of Mono Burgos, with âMonoâ meaning âMonkeyâ in Spanish. He is Simeoneâs number two and much more important than you might think.

Between Simeone, Burgos, and Ortega, Atlético have one of the finest coaching staffs in the world!
Seriously, you guys make the finest football videos on the internet.
Except The Athletic lol
@@Roscododger I think they're both owned by the athletic anyways
Welcome to Aris Saloniki German Burgos, i hope you can safe our season and make us bigger in the next years!!
Had the pleasure of meeting Mono Burgos at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth and VERY funny.
Tipperary hi Limmy
He sounds as if he'd fun to spend a bit of time with.
Very nice limmy reference
I strongly believe these TIFO videos make every football fan more knowledgeable and understand football better
Happy to have him as a head coach in Aris Thessaloniki. So far he did a good job in his first season!
everything about simeone, his looks, his demeanor, his attitude, made me think he was more of a motivator than a strategist. this video confirms it
@Ddhfacetyy the video confirms it
@Ddhfacetyy its literally about how hes the real mastermind at atletico lol
@Ddhfacetyy i never said hes just a figurehead lmao I said hes not as much of a tactician as people think the tactics come mostly from the burgos guy did you even watch the video
It was refreshing to hear Griguol's name. Pioneers like him inspired a multitude of coaches that we get to enjoy nowadays.
Griguol e cra.
GENiOooâ€đđ
As an Atleti fan, the coaching staff is unreal. Simeone, Burgos, Ortega and Vivas is like a fighting team you never know you wanted
In Free Pang that's nice and all but we've been poor so far this season
@@jcxkzhgco3050 Well yes, the results and performance has been subpar to the lofty standards that we are getting used to. But tbh, it's a transition year and Simeone has even said it's not going to be cruise sailing this year. I think they need to be given more time and work it out. Simeone's work and passion should be rewarded with time and patience in the next 2-3 years.
In Free Pang fair but I think Simeone needs to adapt to other formations and tactics I think our tactics are going stale .. we did beat LFC tho â€ïžđ€ aĂșpa Atleti
Good video as always, Tifo. As LaLiga fan, I think you should make emphasis on Bordala's Getafe; they are third, above Atlético de Madrid and ValÚncia, with a very intense way of playing.
Greetings.
"A footballer's wife" đđđđ
That day isnt so far when Mono will finally become the head coach of atletico . Mark my words
You had me at punching a Espanyol player. I love himâ€â€đ„șđ„șđđ
I just love the fact that you upload daily. I just had an exam and I feel relaxed after viewing this video.
Not daily
The upload Monday Wednesday and Friday and also a weekly podcast on tuesdays on their other channel
Last time I was this early Forlan was still playing for Atletico
The goalkeeper reads the game the best more than the manager because he is behind the whole team seeing the full view in front of him. I know this because I used to be a keeper. That's why burgos is good
He's quite the character, many la Liga fans will know that face. I find it interesting how advanced his video analysis skills are, to be able to view multiple games and comprehend that much information is something truly special I would love to know in greater detail.
What is up with Argentinian coaches and their love for analytics! Very interesting, and goes to show that statistics are not just for nerds
If only they had worked with the national team, perhaps Messi and co would have at learned a major trophy or two. Burgos definitely does not seem to be a nerd.
hmm I thought his number two was his fitness coach.
I guess Simeone just has a stacked and talented staff
how can your number 2 be a fitness coach lol its important but how much of a differnece can he make comapred to someone adept tactically
Hey tifo, love your guys' work! A suggestion: do a piece on RĂșben Amorim, ex-Benfica and Sporting Braga player, currently training Braga (he's only a coach for 2 years). He is not even qualified to be a general manager, his assistants have to take the press talks and such, but he has won almost every game, including Porto (winning the league cup), Sporting and Benfica (away, where they didn't win sice the 50s)
You guys make wonderful videos. Another great one.
So damn good video! I learn a lot more about the history on Simeone. Thank u and keep going
I want to see a documentary on the lawyer battle between CFA and EUFA! City wonât go down without a lawyership fight and it will be amazing. I wish I could see it unfold behind the scenes.
Great video as always Tifo đđŒ
Please do a video on Lazio and their exploits in Serie A this season. I have a feeling that they'll end up winning the Scudetto.
Needs more such videos, especially on La Liga sides!! So badly wants Tifo videos on the likes of Getafe, Sevilla, Valencia crisis and all.... There are so many interesting things in Spain to look for
What an interesting character; please continue to find these types of unknown but influential stories.
This makes me think of Brian Clough and Peter Taylor
I would love to see a video about Thomas MĂŒller since he doesn't seem too talented but he never fails to impress.
@Ved Kulkarni thx
Burgos as a keeper had the tendency to position himself too far from the goal, which sometimes costed him bad, the best example beeing in 1996 when José Chilavert scored a free kick from the middle of the pitch when everyone was distracted and Burgos was caught way off guard
really enjoyed this video
I hope he stays in ARIS Thessaloniki for many many years. He has a lot (heart, passion, work ethics, everything) that we the fans love. He is also already connected with us, the fans. Unfortunately, Greece is not good for coaches... But Senor Burgos will and must change it. ARIS needs a vision and conquer what the big money deprived from us all these years. Vamos Mono, vamos ARIS
Do Zeljko Buvac next. A man behind Klopp in BVB
Amazing video.
Welcome to ARIS Thessaloniki Señor! We need finally sth good in our life
He had a big influence from RamĂłn DĂaz y Marcelo Bielsa.
I think you can make an animated football series because your editing skills are amazing please make it
Whatâs the chances of seeing a Tifo vid on Manchester City being banned from the champions league
spursreading 96 search man city ethiad deal, they addressed it though a video a year ago.
TheBenchPressMan Just seen the video thank you âșïž
Fuck yes
Can you guys do a video on the assistant managers who have worked with Pep?
You guys should really do a similar video looking at Chris Wilder and Alan Knill, the tactics and feats they've achieved throughout the football leagues!!
I never expected to see my home city here :D
I'm here after they beat Liverpool
A video about griguol and video analysis would be great
Anyone can tell me the title of the background sound? Has a nice rhythm to it.
I m sad because finally he get seperated from Atletico đ
Pls make a video explaining man city ucl ban â€ïž
They've already done that
oldmansouthside no they havenât. Theyâve explained ffp but not specifically the man city situation in detail
Burgos is a river plate historic goalkeeper
i love that you talk about river plate, make a video of river plate :)
I come here for the fantastic prounciations. BWHOARGOSS!!
These 2 man should be appointed as Argentina National Team's Coaches,
If you want to win a World cup with đŠđ·
Can you do a video about Wolverhampton
I heard he plays a vital role in providing shine boxes
Turn on Auto-captions.
@4.55 a Goose is as professional as they come
"Atlético de Madrid is Rock nŽRoll"
Make a video about Hansi Flick
Give us a video about the champions league ban on man city
Simeone winning, "7 titles in 8 years" is an incredibly misleading sentence.
2 Europa League, 2 supercups, 1 La Liga title, 1 Copa del Rey title and 1 Spanish Super cup. It's correct
I think you are talking that Super Cups doesn't count, but they are official competition so it's correct to be considered a title
Just like 90+ Barcelona titles are misleading because they are mainly copa Del Rey and super cups
Titles generally refers to league titles in English, that's what I consider misleading
this is how football fans' minds work , if they don't like the coach like say "wenger" then super cups and shields and even local cup competitions don't count nor do they matter . when they do like the coach like say "mourinho" then all his titles count regardless if they're a one mach title or not . football fans are hypocrites end of story .
for me they all count but the real praise comes from the level of the opposition , for example when wenger wins the facup against pep's man city in the semifinal and conte's (recently crowned league champions) Chelsea in the final then it's a bigger achievement than when mourinho plays his first team against Southampton in the final of the EFL Cup
and wins .
amr shatlaa Copa del rey is not efl cup itâs more in the level If the fa cup
Profe Ortega: the man behind Mono Burgos
should do small video on what happened to Arda turan
Simeone also managed River Plate, which is not included in this video.
GARB means "hunch" in Polish :) Like that thing hunchbacks have got
Peter Taylor next, please
Atletico's Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang (Romance of the Three Kingdoms)
Mono, as a nickname in Spanish, is used to denote a person with light color hair (consider there are not much blonde people in Latin America)
Hey Tifo. I love your videos. You also love this comment.
The man behind Simeone.
â€ïž
Waiting for the Man City Europe ban video
*German Burgos*
Didn't Simeone also have a fitness coach on his team, who would make players run up and down mountains for hours at the beginning of the season, and that's why Altetico play like dogged hounds? đ
oscar ortega. still with the team
Brill video, but why the dodgy pronunciations of Spanish names?
The script reader sounds English. Probably can't pronounce them like a native speaker.
Do the Man City Champions league ban if you can đ
Did he inspire the keeper from Captain Tsubasa anime?
unlikely, as he began to wear a cap during his stay at Atletico, while the captain tsubasa manga started beeing published in the 80s
"Seven-One: Inside Brazil's 2014 World Cup Catastrophe"
hue hue hue
Still canât beat us in a UCL final.
Î ÏΔ ÎșÎŹÏÏ ÏÎč ÎÏΔÏΔÏ
And what ManU the so called biggest club in UK have in their behind the scene success? Ed the Deadwood
will Simione be sacked this season?
adityan aravindan maybe based on the performance
Ya well they just beat the best team in Europe so something is right here ...
OK united.... I know all the eejits are falling over themselves clamoring for conte.
But diego and mono are the boys to revitalise united
Creat goalkeeper đđđ
i thought it was carlos simeone.
2nd
First
Bwurgos? Really? Lol
"great goalkeeping performances". Ask every Argentinian fan in the 2000s, Burgos, and every goalkeeper of that era was awful.
Argentina has always been unlucky with their defense, unfortunately.
Its one of the biggest reasons, why they haven't won a WC since the Cocaine King!
Abbondanzieri was an amazing keeper tho
@@applehack97 yes, Pato was good. Never had enough chances outside the 2006 world cup though.
Eh they're both hot heads who step over the line. I hope one day they meet someone who can fight, rather than a soccer player.
