You guys ever figure out that snake in the video @ 56:26? I don’t think it’s a snake at all, I believe it’s a leg less lizard. Google Eastern Glass Lizard, it’s a dead ringer, lemme know what ya think. I’m pretty good with snake knowledge & I couldn’t remember ever seeing one like in the video, I had to dust off my Audubon reptile & amphibian ID book. VERY cool find btw!! PS: It’s not a Northern Rough Green Snake.
A quick lookup on the town of Lake Butler says "almost all the adult residents" work at the state prison. Ooh. Town;s been losing population, quite a bit of poverty. The custodians of the bathroom key, who knows? As for the proselytizing evangelists, hey Constantine, you've been hiking through the bibile belt! Still, Florida people tend to be super nice, as you have found out. I think your biggest worry should be trench foot. Cheers!
I get rid of unwanted religious zealots by simply telling them I'm Jewish and they'll quickly leave you alone. Not that there is anything wrong with being Jewish, but it seems to turn unwanted religious adventists away.
That is a technique we have never utilized! With this type of mentality that we have encountered before, sometimes it’s just “easier” to listen because no matter what we have said it seems they disregard it quickly and continue until they have sufficiently finished what they came to say... which is okay because hey we don’t judge, but sometimes it’s just a lot of info to digest when we are just out there to hike...
Suwannee River is my favorite. I like your long videos I get comfortable and watch it like a movie. Keep them coming.
Awesome video man! Thanks for sharing
The town and vibe reminded me of the movie Deliverance. Delivered a few of those areas with my work...you did the right thing and got out.
It’s actually pretty nice. The downtown and the historic district on lake Butler are sweet
i need to go on a good long hike looks amazing
min 7 ---> look's like ballast from an old rail bed. Would explain why the trail is wide, flat, straight and _drained_ in that area.

The Green snake is a Northern Rough Greensnake they occur in the northern peninsula and panhandle of Florida they are non-venomous
Always appreciate the info thank you!
On the Ice Age trail you had an incident camping near a road with some night visitors, any towns in Wisconsin give you some bad vibes?

Was the "Richard!" a Keeping Up Appearances tv show joke?
40 miles in the swamp! How many calories do you eat?
So is 39.3 miles a personal best for trail hiking?
Dang. How big were those foot prints? Bigfoot???
Lol
