Cozy goats in sweaters!

- It is still cold in Maine. The temps are expected to drop to the 20s for the next three nights, so we are taking a little extra care to keep our new goat kids warm in their first couple of days - after that they can usually keep their temperature up really well. On windy damp days though it is not a bad idea to make sure, they are not getting too chilly. So when I let one day old goat kids Agnes & Annette out with their mama Rosa to enjoy the sun, I put a couple of sweaters on them to keep them cozy. They enjoyed meeting two of our barn cats: Roger (gray, fluffy and no tail) and Virginia (black with short hair) and were able to check out the remaining snow and the fall leaves as we wait for spring. All the pregnant mamas were interested to hear the little voices on the other side of the fence! Right now it is just Rosa and her kids calling to each other, soon there will be all kinds of mamas keeping tabs on all kinds of kids!

I’m ever so thankful for this lovely video. You made my day. There has been a devastating earthquake in the east of Türkiye in February, at least 100.000 are dead, most of them frozen, thousands are still missing.

I’ve wanted goats for many years. I have done the research of keeping them for all of that time. I can’t keep them where I am from but I may be moving house soon because my new school is further away in the country. It would be a dream come true to get goats!
