- *Morning:*
- My day starts at about 6:00am, right after that it takes about 15 minutes to freshen up (which mainly includes a face wash and brushing my teeth) and then I am ready to tackle the morning
- Right after that - I proceed to one of the best parts of my morning, which is mainly just making coffe. The reason why drink coffee so early in the morning is mainly for a caffiene boost which waked me up a little bit.
- Because I work remotely luckily i dont have to travel to get to the office - its just a short walk to my desk once I am ready to start work
- The first thing I do right before I start working is a short preparation session which usually takes about 15 minutes which is me just getting my ear phones, setting up my playlist and opening all the softwares I will be using for the day
- At about 6:45am I check my email, slack and jira - jira is a software that contains the tasks that I am currenlty working on.
- Once updated - i will then proceed to planning out the tasks for the day on my daily planner. On certain times I tend to jsut use notion, but more often than not I just use this daily planner just because I like feeling of using pen and paper and I get to keep the planner on my desk all day so I see which task needs to be completed
- At 7:30am - is the time at which I get most of my deep work done, I like to tackle the most complex tasks at this time as this the time where my brain is the most fresh. This is the when i program the longest without actually taking a break which is about 3 hours. and a short 10 minute break at the end right before my first meeting of the day which is at 11:30am
- at 11:30am I have a quick chat with my boss for about 30 minutes
- and Right after I catch another meeting with a colleague in which we conduct a deep dive and plan for an upcoming project. the meeting also lasts for about 30 minutes soemtimes they last longer but on this day these where the last for the day. The rest of the communiction is done through slack
- At 12:00pm is when I reach a dip in producticity and usually take this time to step away from my desk and go make some breakfast. But while preparing breakfast I like to watch Matt D'Aveila - his content is just amazing. - I am not gonna brag about my cooking skills which is why I chose to have soup on for breakfast. (whisper: why you lying?)
- At about 13:00pm I then continue my work day and by having aother deep work session since I have refueled my energy with some breakfast
- I do some more programming and kill some bugs
- Drink some water
- At about 15:00pm is when I reach another dip, so I take some time off by putting in some exercise. On this day I had planned to do some running and cardio.
- Right after exercising i take a quick shower to wash of some sweat, while listening to an audio book - by James Clear Atomic Habits, which I highly recommend if you looking into building good habits.
- At about 16:30pm I like to go back and do another work session where it is mainly just programming. I try to keep the session as light as possible to avoid any form of mental exhaustion. I just program till sunset
- At about 19:30pm I am officially exhuasted and I will just bury myself with a book, as form of relaxing and also because i started the book and need to finish it.
- However after a few minutes of reading, I will take the time to spoil myself for a hard days work with some dinner while watching a movie.
- At 22:00pm before calling it a day - I like to wrap up whatever I know is gonna haunt my dreams when I sleep at night by trying to kill a few bugs before I go to sleep.
- Suprisingly some of my friends actually sleep late, so right before lights out I take that opportunity to talk to some friends and catch up a little till I knockout
- At 00:00 is about the time I tend to knockout
- And repeat

Fellow data scientist and small CZcamsr here, across the world in Australia! Love this :)
Hi , I loved this so much, is it possible that you make a video about your journey into data science and the qualifications you have acquired? I'm thinking about going into data science and it would be amazing to hear a south africans experience. Please and thank you.
Wow 🫶🙏
Thank you for this.
You are a hard worker.
Bless you
You videos are so concise, simple well edited and wholesome 🔥🔥

Are you happy as a data scientist?
What are the things you wish you knew before studying?

Sublime🤧🌻

Hey cryton! Your content is amazing. I am now in 3rd year of my college (degree). I want to be a data scientist + i have cybersecurity knowledge as well (Ethical Hacking). Really need an advice from you regarding data science and land up at FANG.
😊Feel free to shoot me a dm on Twitter: @andrew_cryton
Brilliant
Do you have a CS degree? Trying to break into software development without a CS degree and I see a lot of jobs requiring the degree. Whereas in the USA it’s not really required 😭
You really don’t need it. A related I.T qualification then you just try to get certifications.
@@malodeity saw another SA CZcams saying it was futile to get a decent job without a CS degree and that it’s more possible in the States and stuff. So legit felt like giving up.
@@bundubashing it depends where do you want to start. I have a software de
velopment diploma but i work at absa as an engineer.
@@malodeity I did IT as my high school subject. But I never did anything IT related after school. But I was programming in Java then. Forgot everything and then decided to take a Java course on udemy. Half way done and I feel better. Now thinking of doing a Tech Degree course on Treehouse. Which is full stack development. But I don’t know if that will hold the same kind of weight that it holds everywhere else in SA
@@bundubashing Check out offerzen
Hello! Thank you for interesting content. I`m appriciate it. ♥
Love it❤️
Where and what did you study?
very real and motivated video, i am energetic to get my stuff done, thanks. but i have an question is your breakfast start in 12:00PM? two formal meal in one day you must be a superhero!!!
it seems like you were doing the whole month work in just a day
Could you please do a video where you explain what your role as a data scientist entails?
Noted
I like remote work
Ey man where can I reach out to you I need some advice regarding data science

question: where and what did you study to become this profession?
Great video
Hey bro how much do data scientist paid entry-level in South africa per annum?

How to become data analyst.qualification,
This schedule looks like burnout would happen, am I wrong in thinking that?
💯
Hey bro, its same here too...
Woah
My dream is to be data scientist ❤️❤️❤️
Stay consistent, work hard but also work smart
Do programming tutorial pls
I have tried🙈 in the past. I found them to be less engaging as I am not one of the best teachers out there. But I will give it one more try in the future
6:18 12am*. Why so much work
Damn that's a lot of work hours. After the 20:00 pm movie please go to sleep. Not all bugs deserve to be visited every night there are some that can wait for the next day.
Don't wanna have nightmare's😂
Data scientist AND software engineer?
Yep, professionally I am working as a data Scientist. However, most projects that I work on are software engineering related
@@CrytonAndrewhow do I become both? How long do u study?
@@CrytonAndrew is your work fun? Is it fulfilling?
@@CrytonAndrew do you have time for socializing or go out on a vacation or something?
@@CrytonAndrew do you work on weekends?
bro... you only eat twice a day
hold up 1 sec so you are a product manager?
Nope
@@CrytonAndrew How do you work along side your PM? Do they give you tasks or do you work individually?
@@sammwangi7565 So depending on the project, I am given tasks. However, for some projects I take charge and create my own tasks.
Need to workout brother
Boring!!!!
