A Day in The Life of Netflix Engineer (Post-Covid) - Một Ngày Làm Việc Của Kĩ Sư Netflix

- čas přidán 26. 06. 2021
- Follow me through a typical day of an Engineer in the best company I've ever worked at! I commute from San Francisco to Los Gatos (Netflix headquarter) using Netflix's free shuttle bus. Netflix also provides an on-campus on-demand shuttle for employees to travel from one office building to another. This shuttle can be ordered via mobile app. All meals, snacks, and drinks are free. Breakfast and lunch are served daily with rotating cuisines. There are also food popups and boxed meals for grab-and-go. This video was filmed in June 2021.
Let me know what else you want to see in comment!
All footage were amateurishly shot on iPhone 11 and edited with iMovie.

Plot twist: He is a full time food Inspector and a part time Netflix Engineer
Exactly
😂
Yeah
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is the dream job for who love to eat 😂
8:30 AM - Writting code, 8:35 AM - print("Hello Netflix"), 8:40 AM - Getting some snack, 9:00 AM - Lunch. 😂😂😂
"free for employee.. just be responsible"
need to share this video on my office :D
me too
Lol 😂 they be like - ok how does $50 hp keyboard sounds like

Glad to see there exists corporates who don't treat their employees as slave

@@thayumanavanthamizharasan7399 unfortunately yes
@@sauravMAitra96 Unfortunately? really?
How ungrateful you are.!
@@priyankasingh-yj7ym mind your own business

This speaks volumes regarding how much money Netflix makes, not even taking into consideration how much money this person probably makes! SAAS is beyond lucrative.
He's easily making at least $100k plus a yearly bonus plus stock grants.
@@liamwelsh5565 lol netflix doesn't even higher new grads ,minimum 4-5 years experience is needed that too in big companies or startups and they pay like all cash no stocks or bonus ,they start from 350k and go till millions
My man did more work on the bus than in the actual office.
That's so unquestionably aesthetically pleasing!
Looks like your „work day“ mainly consists of eating food and driving bus in part-time 9-4. Awesome 👏 😊
To be fair, he works an hour each on the bus back and forth.
Perks of handling the stress and all the work he’s put in
Work : 20%
Eat : 80%
I loved this video
And subscribed :)
What could not be portrayed in the video was the stress associated with the actual work . You can be doing all those things but still be obsessed with the problem at hand and enjoying nothing :)
Thats a tradeoff you have to make in any kind of job which pays really good.. and i think thats fair enough considering that you get to become responsible and a developing human....problems are what make us human otherwise there are animals too.,. ;)
Stressing over stuff like that seems like a personal issue lol.
i would enjoy solving problems more than eating food
I think the part that specifically blew me away was the 2:10 - 2:15 part.
Giving you the chance to accessorize and control your productivity as you deem fit - the only thing they ask in return is for you not to abuse that privilege and start carting accessories away.
Its not free but discounted
@@farkasrichard6311 he wrote "free for employees"
@@taroishiharabalducci5538 and the sign litterally says "grab & go" too. He only pays for the cables
Im pretty sure they keep tabs of what employees check out
@@blipblop92 Yes this is how it works. If someone at work needs a mouse or keyboard I give it to them no questions asked so long as I know they haven't taken any in the last 1-2 years.
this felt good to watch 1 hour and another hour and 20 minutes back in comfy shuttle isn't a bad commute :). Neat video
I love this video. Aside from you can work anywhere in the campus, the view is really awesome! Windy, sunny, greens just like working in the backyard
from this video, we learned the formula for productivity is 90% eating and 10% working
kidding. :)
nice video btw
For the Indian engineers, free ka food, items are more important than package 📦 😊😊😉
anytimeeee
This is like a Dream job
Nice place to work at
Everything is clean and has a clean look and style

I worked in Google, most of Engineers are very self-displined. There was chocolate on the tables for days, nobody pick it.
Thanks for sharing! I've been looking for this type of video, I'm starting at Netflix (diff location) and wanted to get a feel of what it's like.
Well I hope you won't inspect the food much like him 😛
How u liking it so far?
how did you got into nf?
It seems the productive time happens in the bus rather than in the office. 🤣
Absolutely loved it. A great video man, aesthetically pleasing. Real great work, you've gained a subscriber. Hope you grow fast soon. Insha Allah
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
even netflix's office is like its series

Most of the kids are going in the wrong direction seeing these videos. They think that their life would be a bed of roses after completing a CS or CSE degree.

Hi guy, thanks for your sharing experiences to the world in the best place to work. I very love your video and would love to see it more than in your company. I'm a Product Designer in Vietnam and very exciting if you let me see Product Designer at Netflix. Thank you so much!

Y'all don't realize how much work he actually needs to put in, yes the company treats him well but that doesn't mean he's not doing work he's just not showing it as it is not that interesting
If you are a foodie, just work hard to get placed in Netflix.
😂💯
Look man great video, this is why I work as hard as I do to get to one of these FAANG companies some day. Good job and thanks for this

In other words, a select few engineers (who actually know a lot of things) do 80% of the work at software companies.
That's not correct. I'm a software engineer, have been for decades, and that has never been the case at any company I've ever worked at. If your comment is valid at a given company, then that company has problems with hiring talent and letting non-productive people go, which is a company nobody would want to work at.
Great job ..need more videos like this one..it keeps me motivated to prepare ..

The food, office and even campus are nice. Did you go to Stanford? I hope Netflix isn't biased about hiring from only certain places and exclused non Cali people.
No tech company does that unless they're very small and can't pay for moving expenses yet.
Netflix definitely isn't biased, I'm a new grad software engineer starting in August and I'm pretty much from a school is not well known (Pacific Lutheran University).

Thanks for sharing your day at Netflix, pretty cool! I'd never use Netflix, but glad there's services like that out there!
Amazing insight :D What kind of languages do you tend to use as a Netflix engineer?
At a guess knowledge of MongoDb and AWS API’s. From what I see this can be c# as the application server
They use Java 8+ and Nodejs and they release frameworks for Spring Cloud in a joint venture with Spring, Pivotal making Microservices patterns easy
I guess its English sonce its an international language.
