bg3 was my first game of its kind and I’ve never played dnd before. I fucking loved it. Best game I’ve ever played and the combat is super fun and rewarding to learn/understand.
I love stories like yours! It makes me super happy to see more people discovering D&D, and also cRPGs, one of my top favorite game (sub)genres.
imagine complaining that its too hard when not even trying the easy setting. Is his ego so delicate that he can't bring himself to try story mode? like someones going to break into his house and discover that he used story mode to ya know, learn how the game works, and start posting all over the internet that he's not a true gamer bro because of it. I can't roll my eyes hard enough
Lol I have no idea and was wondering the same the fact they referes to the phrase Git Gud is rather telling though
I will NEVER be ashamed of playing a game on easy. Especially if I just wanna chill and enjoy a good story
I’m fairly new to D&D in general, and balanced difficulty was a good medium ground for me. It was challenging in the boss fights but every other fight was super easy lol the person calling it hard just doesn’t know how to strategize or you know. Go to Explorer difficulty 😂
This right here. I don't know why they didn't just play the Easier setting. There's never any shame in playing an easy mode IMO.
I also agree that this is a fantastic medium to get Introduced to the 5e D&D rule set. This and the game Solasta were my first into to 5e having not played tabletop D&D since 3.5 edition was new.
I hope you continue to discover more about DnD and games like BG3. It's always a pleasure to have more cRPG/tRPG/TTRPG fans around!
If you can find a DnD group it's like nothing else. But it can be hard and BG3 really does a good job of filling in. It just doesn't fit the spontaneity of an in person group, so if you can find one I totally encourage it.
I totally agree. Many of negative comments I even read here at YT, were just childish crying for no changes and just a copy of the old things, without real substance and adult thinking.
It is simply not possible to satisfy everybody. I even think, that many would even whine, when the Bioware of today had made a third game in this series -- because they would not have copied the old styles either. It would have been most likely a first person game, like Bethesda is doing them.
BG3 even reached people that where never thinking to play CRPGs or turn based games. That is a huge success, that is fully deserved, because BG3 is not perfect, but a work of art.
Everyone said this was a good game and I pirated it. After 20-30 hours in, I decided to buy it. To me thats GOTY. Larian did a masterpiece. I have over 200hours invested and I still have not finished it. Started a re-play with a friend, I hope they re-create BG1 and BG2 in the same manner.
At 5:30 you make a very solid argument in my opinion, I'm not use to the combat of BG3. To me it can be difficult, while a veteran like yourself knows how to make it easy.
Besides that, love the video keep it going!
Appreciate it, dude. I do forget sometimes that not everyone has the same level of familiarity with strategic combat games. It's hard to separate that sometimes. I appreciate you pointing it out.

calling a game hot garbage is dumb. Every game isn’t made for everyone. Just cause something isn’t for you doesn’t make it bad. Personally for me I ended up not liking the game but that’s simply cause it’s just not for me. It ended up not fitting within my personal preferences of play style. Ultimately my experience was polished and well made. It’s definitely an amazing game. I do wish I could personally enjoy it more
For sure. I try my best not to use hyperbolic language when it comes to my opinions on games and I try to be more "I don't care for it, and here's why". Taking a more subjective approach.
I am sorry the game didn't grab you but I always understand that not everyone likes the same things. Has there been any games recently that you did find emjoyable?

Thanks for a level-headed and respectful response. Too many people seem to think their taste is objective truth. Totally fair to just not like a thing and always cool not to crap on others for the thing they enjoy. And I will always give props to a dev group that makes the thing THEY want to make that may have a more niche audience but stay true to that and not push for wider appeal simply to make a buck.

2. The fact that Larian got ahold of the rights to BG3 is something divine. No other developer could have pulled this off.
3. This game is a masterpiece and it should be the new standard by which developers should judge/compare their product (story, replay value, voice acting, writing, narration, it has everything)

Critics complaining about the character creation being woke and bitching about too many options is so hilarious to me.

Exactly. Seems like a rather straight forward concept. Hell, it's the biggest button on the entire UI of the game. 🙄
Bg3 is so woke omg, you can change pronouns to they them. Just shoving it down our throat.
Lmao, idk it's really not woke at all, it just provides options for anyone and everyone, you can choose to be a normal cishet if you want lol there's no discrimination for that
