The Audi is simply designed to be less than a Porsche. They will NEVER handle as sharply as a Porsche. The race was over before it began. I'd still choose the e tron GT, though. Arguably a slightly better value, and they, ironically enough, are much more rare than the Taycan, at least where I live.

This is why you have 90k views and only 1.2k likes. Really tried to upswell the Porsche. 1. two different drivers 2. Brake test not measured from the same spot 3. Didn’t put the Audi in race mode on the track. I was in both. For the money and looks I chose the RS etron GT. I got mine at a good price with the glass roof and options brand new for the price of the base Tycan plus model.
Not a great test. If you knew that you had only partially disabled the driver aids, then why not do the race again with the ETron GT in full race mode? Also, 2 different drivers? Why not just use one driver to test both cars for the lap time, that way the test isnt affected by one person being a better driver than the other. Really, this was a pretty silly and badly done test all in all.
14:28 - was going to say, doesn't sound like you'd fully disengaged. Turn them off then press and hold longer for full deactivation.
If you want to test 2 cars the same you have to test with the same driver too, this "testing" sucks i.m.h.o.
The Audi looks so much better tho! I consider it the best looking Audi ever made 😁

I guess it's in the lookers eye. For me the Porsche looks much more beautiful, so classic. The front of the Porsche is 10/10.

Had the pleasure to watch the boys from Porsche Experience do some twisty roads with the GT3 vs Tycan Turbo. I was genuine amazed how good the Tycan kept up in the bends...seriously if they can figure out how to increase the range and shorten the recharge times, an EV saloon Porsche will be all you need, unless you do track racing!
Apart from when the engine breaks and the dealership is being difficult

So the timed lap result is based on a bad test ? So is the conclusion? Porsche probably is faster. But by how much really?
Love how they're trying to differentiate two cars that are essentially identical. Just choose your look.
That brake test does not make sense, it should be tested from the same speed, and same point of starting to brake - and measure the distance. That way you will know if you will hit the "" from the same point of seeing it. For example, we know that from 60 mph, that sub 30 metres is excellent, 31 m is good, and 35 meters is average.
Were the cars on the same brand / type of tyres ? That can make a huge difference..

What about the elephant in the room? - the Taycan battery damaging, cheap, onboard charger issue? Reports, especially from a Porsche whistle blower and others, seem to confirm that Porsche continue to ship around 60% Taycans with this built-in problem. As reported by The Electric Viking - Sam Evans recently.
never heard of that issue. I have had a Taycan for 19 months and do know several owners. The biggest problem is the software on the PCM but it became much better after the new software was installed. Another problem is the Webasto manufactured heater, which tend to cause problems.

His voice over was not done when they were on the track. I honestly believe they should have went back at a later date and let the F1 driver do the track with both cars. I don't have a dog in the race but can see that this "VS" video was full of opinion and flawed data. Having said all that if I were to own either car I wouldn't be racing with it. Plus I would never buy a car based on another person's opinion. I just wanted to see how cool the cars looked in this video, haha.
Meh, just a driving challenge. It was fun, but what about trying to get an MTB in the back, or a range test with 4 peeps and luggage in the car?
VW must have written the show a big check for this promotion.
Jason is as insightful as ever, even from the passenger seat as mentioned by @pdpiper. But Karun, "drives amazing" impression seemed vague. Total opposite of Jason when it comes to the driving impressions.
So why not do another lap in race mode and not waste everyone's day with a non result?🤷
In essence, Audi designed car is for luxury, Porsche is for sport; purchase accordingly.
I’ve driven all three taycan turbo, Audi Etron RSGT and Lucid GT. I would take the lucid overall over the other two.

It's taken from the TV series. In the UK on Freeview it's in standard def. That may be the reason why

@@honesty_-no9he It is their own CZcams channel yes but I think the lower quality stems from the original source and that source not originally being in HD ( unlike Top Gear on BBC 1 ). Unless it's in HD through subscription on Discovery

The brake test is worthless. You’re not measuring distance to stop from 100mph. You guys are actually measuring (somewhat inaccurately), time to accelerate to and stop from 100 mph. Carwow does this test better.

If you are referring to cobalt in the batteries, then be aware that the oil industry uses large amounts of cobalt in producing petrol and diesel. Did you conveniently forget.
@@mgist9354 Could be referring to sulfuric acid leaking into the environment or mining practices. Each to their own I say. Better all forms of propulsion were available - petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric, hydrogen. Everyone would be catered for then
