The Hobbit: Badass Rivendell Elves

- I wanted to make this "badass Noldor", but Jackson's vision of Galadriel irritates me so much I had to cut her. The scenes are from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies.
And I just love Elrond trolling the dwarves. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
When Elrond is one of the most respectful and respected characters in all of Middle Earth but Thorin is like " :/ "
Shakheel George
IKR. I feel they overdid the whole Dwarves dislike Elves thing. Thorin and CO. were described as "decent" in the books. And I find it hard to believe that Thorin has never heard of Elrond.
he clearly had heard of elrond, he was just giving an insult. Dwarves and Elves hate each other, Rivendell elves are the exception, Thorin hadn't grown enough to learn to make the distinction yet.
When the book made it quite clear that Thorin was happy to go to Rivendell and seek Elrond's advice but the movies decide over-doing the emnity between elves and dwarves is a better option :/
And also when the book made it clear Elrond knew of and approved of their quest because he hated the dragon and wanted it dead :/
Your words do not sway me.
Elrond is so clam and then there is Thorin who is ready to fight anybody at the moment someone says something he doesn’t understand. Lol.
I love the way the elves look the dwarves from atop their hourseback, with superiority
eodred di acquaneve
They do that to everyone though 😂
ThatWeirdGirl lmao, but a bit more the dwarves I d say [
Thorin: "We use the bathroom, and then we leave." lol
That's literally my parents whenever we're on a road trip and we come across a café or gas station
+Miriel Greenleaf the dwarves act so paranoid when the elves arrive. they don't trust anyone just like people in small towns
I’ve seen this comment before
Everybody gangsta till you hear an Elven horn blow
Dropping my spear and my armor and laying down hope they miss me lol
Dwarf: IMMA KILL YOU!!!!
Me: Would you like some food? :D
Dwarf: YOU ARE MY FRIEND NOW! :D
Achillez pretty sure that’s What happend between wicket and Princess Leia.
Hugo Weaving does understated badass better than anyone.
Elrond has a suit under the elven outfit and sunglasses in his inner pocket. He also has the ability to make clones. Just look at all the similar elves in BOTFA.
Play2603 on his free time he plays with mr anderson
"Orcs are a disease... a cancer of this planet. And we... are the cure..."
"As you can see, we've had our eye on you for some time now Mr. Oakenshield..."
“Mr. Frodo...”
Omg these comments 😂
I remember my dad saying "I remember that sound! That's when the cool elf guys come and kick everyone's butt!" When he heard the elven Horn
it's a personal headcanon that the 3 other helmet-less elves are Elladan, Elrohir, and Glorfindel
Oh man what I would give to see glorifndel 😭😭
Elladan and Elrohir could be there but glirfindel has golden Hair but it would be so cool if it would be them
Right? They had something on their foreheads too? A circlet? Aren't those worn my People of importance?
@@renatareynoldsxianxian The circlet usually indicated elves of a "royal" or high born house. Also called a "filet" in the Tolkien books. The Elven King (Thranduil) wore one when he was in Dale, but not when he was in his kingdom. Lindor, the elf that meets Gandalf and the dwarves also wore a circlet, but not made of gold or silver. He was a kind of "secretary" to Elrond, but still a member of the royal house of Elrond.
@@martyadams3172 ur enticing me to read the books . And I will asap. The lore is just calling maeee!!!
The bridges in Rivendell seem kind of dangerous.
Matthew W Well, youre rong. It's a little Valinor on Middle Earth, like Lothlorien.
Matthew W yes they are... in LOTRO too...
Balrogs can be stopped on them.
Well to be fair, it's not just Rivendell. It's Middle Earth in general.
But I agree. Seriously, what does Middle-Earth have against railings?
think to the wooden realm or the dead star lmao
Imladris.. if only such place exist on this planet. Such a beautiful place. Elves are elegant creatures. The places they thrive are beyond words.
It does exist, in our imagination and wishes🥺🥺🥺
Portmeirion in Wales is actually quite similar
Their are beautiful elven maidens in Northern Europe that must be saved from the Muslim Hordes
Amitofo 🧡
@@Casualplayer Keep your political racist crap away from these pleasant comment sections.
Im pretty sure Elladan and Elrohir would be the ones hunting orcs not Elrond
just as in the LOTR trilogy, Jackson didn't want to introduce two new characters just for that. It would've been cool to see them, in both trilogies. They're pretty badass.
Confirmed Sociopath they are actually in the trilogy. When Aragorn is being crowned king of Gondor there are twin elves which accompany Elrond. A technicality I know but it's a cool random fact.
Nor was Arwen there to save Frodo in The Fellowship story, but the film must simplify the plot.
I think one of the things they were also trying to do was give female characters more prominent roles than they had in the books. Not just Arwen but also Galadriel and to an extent Eowyn too. And the whole thing with Tauriel....that was never in the books either. Then again, what movie made from a book EVER stayed true to the original tale?
anne Donovan Galadriel has an enormous role in the books... In fact I think the movies downplayed it.
I just found out that Lindir is not a made up character.
are you rivendell voice wispper middle earth safe peace
I mean... he is. All of them are made up characters. It's just that Lindir was originally created by Tolkien himself.
"You should've stayed dead" Elrond channeling Agent Smith XD LOL - could so totally see him saying that to Neo in the second Matrix movie :P
I love the way that the elves are riding around the dwarves basically saying look how awesome we are!
I love the Rivendell horsemen so much. Especially how they circle the dwarves. Coolest shot ever
2:29 wow Bilbo was fully protected..
Just look at the misery of dwarves, the elves are already Taller and to top that they are on the horse. I can feel their pain, maybe that's why dwarves hates elves 😂
Yeah these Elves from Rivendell were the Noldor Elves (The 2nd clan the reached Aman and became the Calaquendi - The Light Elves - Those who see and held the lights of the 2 trees) - Deep Elves, the knowledge seekers and crafters. Taller and powerful but prideful than most of the Teleri subgroups. Thats what they attacked. The Orcs swiftly defeated them and rode their horses like that, surrounded the Dwraves...
Gandalf: "Tell me, where is Elrond? For I much desire to speak with him."
For some of you that complained why these elves fight better than the ones you see in The Two Towers movie. For your information (first); no elves came to assist the Men during the Battle of Helms Deep in the book. But then, Peter Jackson’s portrayal of the elves is (in my opinion) quite accurate.
In the movie (Two Towers), the Lorien elves that came to Helms Deep were mostly Teleri(s) decent that choose not to travel to Valinor long before the First Age. In fact, most elves that choose to stay behind in Middle Earth are Teleri(s) decent. The Teleri(s) are mostly known to be peaceful and for their craftsmanship; never really battle-like. Even the first Dark Lord Morgoth deemed them to be less threatening compare to the other two Elvish clan(s); Vanyar and Noldor.
The elves of Rivendell are mostly Noldor decent; especially when Elrond is a trusted attendee of Gil-Galad, the High King of the Noldor Elves during the Second Age. The Noldor Elves are considered very battle-like, if not the strongest of their kind. They took part in many major battles against Morgoth and Sauron throughout the First & Second Age. (Trust me, the battles that we see in LOTR were pillow fights compare to those once you read the books, of course).
Therefore, do not be surprise if these elves were able to clean up the orcs like nothing. They’re probably those veterans that fought under Gil-Galad during the Last Alliance.
Some of them might even be true Eldar, survivors of Beleriand. But with the troops Haldir leads in the films, I'd say they're probably Nandor and Galadhrim, so technically Teleri, but also Moriquendi. So the riders of Imladris are just on another level completely, even if many of them are likely Sindar rather than Noldor.
@@josephharrison8354 I don't think too many elves of Rivendell were Sindar, seeing as the initial population was the relief force sent by Gil-Galad to Eregion, a Noldor Colony, and the survivors from there. Granted, very few in Rivendell were Calaquendi who had seen the light of the two trees, Glorfindel is the only one I can remember.
Imagine seeing a 1st age series. Like the dagor bragorlach
Actually my friend is simply spotted Glorfindel, Elladan and Elrohir in this scene. Like...what is the reason behind 4 circlet users among the helmeted elves except a sign if they're the Lords
Yeah, most of the elves in Rivendell are Noldor that send by Gil Gallad to assist Eregion but to late Arrived. They’re already prepared to make war against Sauron army at that time.
Then, on the event The Last Alliance Of Elves and Man, they even preparing, training , planning and forging the weapons in Rivendell for three years before March to Mordor.
Comparison war in first age, this kind of Elves will fight 100 Orcks alone.
Lol look at how Bilbo when he gets to Rivendell is like now this is more fucking like it and realized that he really teamed up with the wrong people 😂
The horn of elrond is a sign of relief 🥺
How can anyone hate these movies? Sure they have their flaws but the good far outweighs the bad
Both trilogies are worth it!
As all you can see here, Galadriel is not a fighter but a mage. But some very bad people want that to be changed. I say: "You shall not pass!".
This is what rings of power can never be a Lotrs
Both. She’s both. Yes she’s a sorceress but you cannot say she can’t fight, she liquified an Orc and booted Sauron’s (and the Nazgûl) ass out of Dol Guldur in like ten seconds. I also hate ROP but Galadriel *can* fight.
@@flowerfaerie8931 No, she is not both. She can fight, yes, with magic like a mage but not with melee weapons like a warrior. She is a mage, not a warrior. Period.
@@IvanKala I mean what’s the qualifier there? I’m pretty sure that if you can fight in a battle, you count as a fighter/warrior/whatever word you want to use. Does someone need to use a physical weapon to be called a fighter? Seems kinda dumb in a fantasy series ngl. I get not liking the way ROP used her character because I don’t like it either, it doesn’t work for her. But to say she’s not a fighter when the Battle of Dol Guldur exists seems pretty absurd to me.
Oh man, his armor looks so amazing. I'm also a huge fan of the Noldor, so I can appreicate a comp like this.
Me too. You know the Noldor, they're greatest crafters(equal to Drawves, but have the same teacher - Aluë - Creator of the Drawves and patron and friend of the Noldor) and mightiest warriors of all the Elven clans in both Aman and Middle Earth. Celebrimbor - Noldorin Lord of Eregion and Durin - Royal house of Moria have built the gate of Moria.
Gimli: These are no mindless Orcs! They are Uruk-Hai, their armor thick and their shields broad!
Legolas: *34! 35! 37!*
That is no orc horn!
Open the gate!
An alliance once existed between elves and men long ago we fought and died together we come to honor the alliance
Imo that elf who ride the white horse and a bow in his back is glofindel just my imagination lol
He does carry a golden banner.
@@chajei9885 yeah maybe it’s actually him 👍
I loved how they depicted the Nazgûl in The Hobbit. Emptiness given form
Some people take these fictional stories and characters way to personal and way to seriously. Love all the movies. Love all the characters. Love the cinematography. Its entertainment. No need to throw a tantrum because its not exactly like the book. Just chill.
Yours is one of the most mature comments I have ever seen about the Middle Earth lore. I totally agree with you.
I find it sweet that the Dwarves protected Bilbo by closing ranks around him.
When a horde of elves on horses come right at you and you stand ti fight. ☠
Imagine an army of these guys...
Read The Silmarillion
They're Noldor, they're 2nd Elven clan who reached Aman along with the Vanyar (1st Clan) and half of the Teleri (3rd and last clan) later called themselves the Falmari (Sea Elves of Aman - The major and largest group after the other subgroups (notably Sindar and Nandor) along with the Avari (The refusers mixed with both Noldor and Teleri - who remained in Meddle Earth). These 3 clans will be called the "Calaquendi" - Elves of Light - Amanyar (those from Aman) - those who have seen and held the light of the 2 trees. Powerful than the "Moriquendi" - Elves of Darkness - Umanyar (Not from Aman) - those who didn't reach Aman and never seen and held the light of the 2 trees. Likely the Teleri subgroup (Sindar and Nandor) and Avari. Not more powerful than the Calaquendi. The Noldor were knowledge seeker, loremasters, and gifted crafters (being taught by the Valar of fire Aluë - patron, teacher, and friend Noldor and creator of the Drawves. Same Valar, they have). They were also 1 of the most mightiest and fierce warriors of all the Elven clan from the 1st to 3rd age history. That which can be told from the Simarillion.
2:34 looks like the twins
elrond horn ! super hot, impressive!
3:55 'whuuut is he sayin?' idk why that shit cracks me up
Reminds me of gimli after all He is gloin, father of gimli :)
2:41 - Glorfindel?
Gandalf, what's the elvish world for friend? 2:57
2:41 Is that Glorfindel? Just speculating, but he does seem to carry a banner different from the one of Elrond's house, and it does look golden...
I think so,he has white hair and silver armour
Yes that is
John Smith The hair looks brown to me or is my eyesight just not very good aha
Possibly, glorfindel was one of the noldor, and I think Rivendell was the only place in middle-earth where they gathered (besides galadriel in lorien)
nah, Glorfindel is making a cup of tea in the kitchen for Galadriel
Badass good guy moments be like
2:54 Elrond's first appereance🔥
this is what heaven should look like!
I think they're typically referred to as Imladris warriors among their kin. Rivendell is the "common tongue."
yeah, and it's also a Noldorin settlement, a place where all the Elves find refuge, before they'll continue their journey for the Undying Land.
02:54 Mr Gandalf, welcome back. Weeee missssssed you.
Oopsie, wrong movie
Fili is a true Jenkins if i ever saw one.
Two Maiar, one Noldo and one half Elf; all bad arses, for the good of Middlearth :3
haec lux!
Elrond is not a noldor
Yes, Galadriel is the Noldor...
***** he's a mixed elf and definitely not a high elf
***** i'll give you the sindar and sylvan not been avary, and the reason is because they at least saw and talked and were led by orome and maybe some of the other valar and miar were among them too during the great journey. They indeed are not avari and got to contact with the devine beings but thingol is the only a high elf because he saw the light.
and about Elrond, if we follow your theory about the male line then Elrond inheritance is man not elf, erandil father was a man
Bravo Finrod Felagund. It appears rayleigh8 doesn't know what he is talking about. Elrond is of Noldorin descent.
For all those returning in 2021, I hope this is merely a glimpse of what we will see with the new Amazon series. Although it is quite unconfirmed there are suggestions and rumours they have access to parts of Unfinished Tales and The Silmarillion. The mere thought of seeing Gondolinians in action, or Fingolfin's cavalry... even the (arguably) lesser Lindon elves under Gil-galad and Elrond would be a sight to behold.
Sadly only the 2nd Age materials are allowed
Hey amazon series out but it won't be in this level
Ok i get Thorin doesn't care for elves but did he really think they were going to attack the group? especially with Gandalf right there.
Dwarves have had a hate boner against Elves at that age due to a lot of disputes and mistrust, so of course Dwarves were going to be cautious around Rivendell elves lol
@FishingMaster Studios Rivendell Elves? Oh no, they wouldn't attack them. These Elves are the Noldor. They're not responsible for the abandonment. It was the Teleri Elves of Mirkwood led by Thranduil (A Sindar) who did this to them. Even it wasn't new. There was a bad blood between the Drawves and the Teleri Elves. Starting from the incident at Doriath (ruled by High King Elu Thingol), thousands of years ago.
Amazing how the CGI is worse in later films
Is he offering us insult?😂
Elrond you Troll ROFL
As always the elves need to save the dwarves
Very surprised that this has Romanian subtitles lol
One thing that stands out with these PJ movies is the casting Hugo weaving is perfect for lord Elrond the way he talks and his fight scenes makes you automatically feel inferior to elves😂
thats how elves look like.
Agent Smith is here, on horseback
Awesome bro you should’ve included the prologue the last alliance
The Dwarfs were so rule in scenes like this. Going into someone's space after they killed the people who would have attacked you is beyond rude. There is really no excuse for it. This made it harder to enjoy the movie with the dwarfs as central characters.
per sebra ur just an elves fan
per sebra You're mad because the dwarves were rude lol?
@@bradleywesterman218 the Dwarf in general are always kinda rude, expecially against Elf, they the messy, loudest race in all middle earth and that's why we love them!
I want to move there.
thats the horn i want to protect me from thugs
Press 0 over and over and over.
Can’t help but laugh at the dwarves - nice music though
Lindir is Bret out of Flight of the Conchords.
Lindir😍😍😍😍
I always wondered how many of the Elves of Rivendell are Fëanorians, both from Eregion and from Beleriand.
Who are the Noldor......an enigma to most.....
Galadriel bad ass in this scene
Elves are awesome, but the Istari are more awesome :D
SGTBizarro Nah they are more powerful than most elves but...
Waath just he sayed does he offering us insult?
Elves are so much better than dwarves
Why does Elrond called him Gandalf even though he's speaking Elvish? He would call him Mithrandir.
Elrond has always called him Gandalf. Go watch Fellowship of the Ring again.
His name given by the Valar is Olórin. Mithrandir is what the elves call him, he's Gandalf in Westron, Tharkûn to the dwarves and many many more. That Elrond chooses to call him Gandalf is nothing new.
LIAM No sir. Mithrandir is an elvish word which means "grey wanderer". Gandalf's name was Olorin when he was living at Valinor and that name was not given him from Valar. If Elrond speaks with Elvish language, yes, he should have called him as Mithrandir.
He goes so much by Gandalf in the North and in Eriador, has done so for quite some time and also recently, that Elrond of Rivendell as well has chosen to call him that and is used to it. "Wand elf"...
Dwarves can't do shit on their own
Noldor…..
they are just After Food... Okay.. okay..
“WhooooooaaAAAT IS HE SAYING?”
Elves comportment diplomatically remind me of the Chinese while dwarves remind me of Russians
Wait where is this theme part at?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that only the Men of Gondor referred to Gandalf as Mithrandir?
No, the elves called him that
He's known as Gandalf in Rohan and the North, Mithrandir by the Elves and the Men of Gondor, Incanus in Harad, and Tharkûn by the Dwarves.
Agent Smith is a boss
are the elves in Rivendell noldor elves? sindar elves? silvan elves?
Probably a mix of all kinds, from stragglers from Beleriand to remnants of Gil-Galad's forces.
So...who wants to join the Thalmor?
We need this u can how Elves house are Introduced by sountrack
Do they have any chips?

Am crezut ca halucinez cand am vazut subtitrarea in romana, dar nu. E acolo.
Is everyone allowed to just walk into into Rivendell
Yeah.....badass Rivendell elves......
But they have nothing on The Lady of Light Galadriel.
Elves with curved Swords :( haha
"You've seen the elves from Rivendell? They've got curved swords. Curved.. Swords!"
"You've seen the Elves from Rivendell? They've got curved swords. Curved.. Swords!"
Fungihair Why doesn't mine curve?
they are muslim elf
did yuo knew in the book elves did not used curved sword (only a noldor captain in Gondolin used it, it was indeed said he was the only noldor wielding a curved sword), they used normal ones and teleri used axes most likely (along with bows ofc). The idea of curved sword came from PJ to make them cool in the movie, which pretty makes sense
does this movie contain cgi
Dr tonni The question is, does this CGI contain a movie?
Negative, this is a historical documentary filmed on location, by an army of 1000 Elvish artisans, 1 Maia, and a thoroughly bewildered Hobbit. Any deterioration you see in the film is a side effect of translation.
No CGI at all.
pmfsl
96% of the scenes contains CGI, in the battle of the five armies the 25% of the shoots are 100% CGI
What's wrong with Galadriel in the movies ?
she's just not at all like i imagine her. galadriel is supposed be all pride and blazing fire. she looks like your kindly aunt or something. (and it¨s not the casting mind you, cate blachett is perfectly capable of playing galadriel as a badass.)
Imi place ca e tradus in romana 😂
Elrond is not an elf of the light
rayleigh8 what kind of elf is he ?
QmbaPL stark he's a half-elven, a dark elf with blood of high elves, dark elves and human
rayleigh8 so wood elfs are from mirkwood high elf are from galadhrim Forest (I think I called it correct) dark elfs are from Lindon so all elfs from rivendell are half elfs mixed with humans of arnor. so that's why they need to leave from middle-earth ? Tell me it's really quite interesting
QmbaPL stark high elves or elves of the light are only those who lived within the light of the two trees of valinor in ancient times, everyone else is a dark elf. Galadriel is a high elf. The two trees were destroyed long ago. only Elrond and his descendants are half elven and mixed with human
rayleigh8 so wood-elfs are dark elfs same as elf of Lindon galadhrim elfs are same dark elfs but also they are calling high elfs
Wat for rivendel
Too bad they don’t have the rhymenosourus
Lol Romanian subtitles

lol HOW could you leave out Galadriel bitch-slapping sauron with nothing but a glow stick?
So, Tolkien's supposedly superior species -- the Elves -- haven't yet come up with the concept of parapets/railings on either side of a bridge. Even hunter-gatherer tribes in Papua New Guinea have worked that one out!
For by grace you have been save through faith not of yourself it is a gift from God. Not of works that anyone can boast of.
