    Bought a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, 5 speed manual...great fun, plenty of power, good mpg, simple yet stylish...UAW built in the USA...really like this M OS!
    One of the BEST cars I've ever owned!

    Just bought my wife this exact model minus the touring option. It is great and we actually picked it over the new CX-5. It is great.

    I have the same vehicle only it is the 2013 edition purchased new. My wife and I have driven from Central Ontario to the West Coast of Canada. Crossed the 'Coke' Hwy in a blizzard through 4" of snow and back through the 'Crows Nest' route. Last year we went to the East Coast and Ferried to Newfoundland. We have put 70m. kms (42m miles) on this vehicle which is faultless. The paddles are of great help in engine braking down the hills and it has no problem pulling up the mountains (dry pavement) in cruise. The CVT is excellent once you adjust to the new way of treating the tranny (I question if this tester has a clue in this regard). In true GT you can spend the day in this vehicle with excellent comfort. It has a 10 year warranty (we replaced the AC compressor N/C) 9 out of 10 (there must be a downside which I have yet to find)

    I got the FWD base for my wife with the 2.4L engine. With the reduced weight and drag from the AWD coupled with the larger engine, the acceleration is very good and the bonus is that the CVT doesn't have to work hard. In fact the torque of the larger engine keeps it in the lower RPM range in most driving. Mitsubishi is just about giving these away so they are an excellent buy. Check the incentives before you go in.

      Very true. I recommended to my Mom that she look at this vehicle. She wanted a compact CUV. She test drove a 2.4 GT and loved it. It was an excellent value with incentives for $21,900. We both really like the ride. It feels substantial like you're driving an SUV, rather than a car-based CUV. The power of the 2.4L is very adequate, smooth, and quiet. The CVT is silky and doesn't overwork the engine at all. MPG is also excellent. 37mpg at 55mph according the computer. It's compact outside and spacious inside. Comfortable, supportive seats. She's thrilled with it. We expect reliability to be very good as well. Owners are happy. This may be an old design now, but it's well-worth consideration still. I'd like to see someone buy a RAV4 or CRV almost loaded for $22k. Won't happen.

    Add KYB SR Special shocks and change front and rear to Cusco sway bars and strut bar for much better road feel and handling. Only 1.8 litre engine here in Japan which is pathetic!

    What car are you driving! Lol I brought my partner one and it is by far the harshest ride quality of any modern car I have ever driven! Louder then a scolded cat, and the steering wheel is so stiff I have actually injured my shoulder trying to turn a tight turn on a freeway exit ramp one handed. Seriously horribly stuff suspension it's trying too much to be a Lancer and in reality it is a Lancer on stilts. I think it's a good looking car although slightly a more boy racer immature look vs say the more sophisticated look of the Hyundai Santa Fe or the more modern look of the crv. Decent with horrible! Horrible acceleration and overly tight suspension.

    • @Scoobert_Doobert
      @Scoobert_Doobert Před 3 lety +1

      @@mmagistrum My 2015 I bought used falls in line with the review, I run higher octane fuel in it to get better power for a premium, I like the car overall but I am sure there are better choices out there. The only thing that could make it better for me would be S-AWC and a better suspension, or at least make it better over major bumps in the road. I have also had it up to 100 MPH but it took a long time to reach.
      I changed my tires out for winter tires during these snowy/icy months and the traction control and tire combo has probably saved me from my own stupidity a good few times by now.
      If mitsubishi can improve their current lineup for better off-road use and a smoother ride while increasing the power/torque output I will be sold on a newer model when the time comes.

      @@Mr.Gundam7 I've gone back to regular but for a while I was putting in either 91 or 92, I'd do it every now and again but I don't think I was getting much more out of it besides a higher price, I think it might have felt better but that could've been a placebo type effect.
