- I bought my Panama hats, finally. These are made in Montecristi, Ecuador and each one is made by Modesto Mero Pachay, proprietor of Modesto Hats.
The guy that was in the Facebook post I did on this adventure is the man mentioned here and he's been making hats, the Panama hats for 27 years.
I really enjoyed my experience with him and I encourage anyone visiting the Manta area to take a half day trip to meet this man and look at his hats. And buy one!
If you can't walk on water, freeze it
I like the small one. 👍
That is a toss up, they both look good on you. You don't need to smoke it but you holding a Cuban cigar with one of those hats on would make a great photo.
Beautiful hats. Great workmanship.
Thank you kindly
Nice! Hopefully you've worn them by now. The smaller one is my fave. Looking forward to getting my own.
They don't fit me so good now because I have hair so I don't wear them much.
great hats don cant wait to see the new shirts
Yeah me too.
I know, they're Made in Ecuador And nothing But The Best Don, Enjoy Life and Ecuador DON!!!
Those are some great looking hats. I like the one with the bigger brim for more eye-shade. My current summertime hat is a black leather Australian Outback style. It doesn't get warm enough here for a lighter hat like yours.
Unfortunately, these panama hats are not suitable for the warmer climates either. They have no ventilation in them at all. To tell the truth, I wish I hadn't spent the money on them.
@@DonShader I bought my hat from Modesto, online, delivered to the UK.
I love it.
Mine is approx. 28x28 per inch.
I get what you say about ventilation......... So maybe a cheaper one with a lesser count would ventilate better.... Perhaps.
But the finer ones sure are a work of art. 😎
Good humour hermano
I got my hat at Modesto also. Great hats and top quality!
The best!
Me too.
