Going into this anime my expectations were low. But the second the soundtrack started in this scene accompanied by the breathtaking animation and the scope of the world, I was completely blown away. It was the point when I realised I'm about to watch something incredible.
I would advise you sir to not go near Abysses anymore...
Nah it started waaay sooner with underground river :D
Wait til you hear “Tomorrow” at the end of the series.
Even more breathtaking than Keanu Reeves in Cyperpunk 2077?
I nearly gave up at first ep, but I kept pushing it until I discovered a masterpiece
One of the best scenes in the anime. Lyza's face reveal being the other one.
It was when Nanachi broke down and hugged Mitty for the last time. That was the best scene for me. Truly heart breaking.

This is what Prushka wanted, to witness Dawn and have many Adventures.
One day she'll probably (and hopefully) see it dont worry. When the journey is over and Riko's White Whistle reaches the surface. A new legend will be born that will be bigger than Lyza the Annihilator.
At that moment, Prushka will see dawn as a soul and she'll probably see it alone.

Best Anime scene ever. So beautiful, chilling, extravagant, mesmerizing, I could go on. Kevin Penkin is a master of the arts.

This scene is achingly beautiful.
Oh man I just remembered how amazing this anime is
One of the greatest scenes in anime history IMO. The sheer wonder and awe that the visuals and Penkin's masterful track Hanezeve Caradhina bring truly invokes a feeling that is hard to articulate with words. All I can really describe are the chills I experience whenever I rewatch this beautiful moment.
The only thing I dislike about Made in Abyss is I'll never be able to see it for the first time again.
Possibly the most beautiful scene ive ever witnessed.
stuff like this happen IRL! it's breath taking
if you like this show you are a pedophile.
You ever notice how, when you are shown Orth from above, it, the abyss and the island as a whole, looks like an eye? It's like the whole thing is watching you, because as you stare down into the deep, unknown, terrifying, dark, mysterious, haunting depths of the abyss, it just stares back at you. A central theme of the show I feel. I feel like I'm saying this after hearing it before from someone. May be a repressed memory
like Nietzsche said
"Gaze upon the abyss and the abyss gazes back."

This is the moment that made me a fan. The music, the visuals, the plot???? Amazing
Honestly this is like the trailer for the show for me.
This scene should literally be in a museum. When I first saw this scene and how unique it looked, along with the characters, the story, the animation, the colors, and last but not least the music, I was hooked. I cannot wait to see the rest of the story unfold!
The first time watching it was the best because the piano is soft and mingling with the ambient sounds. Then you're like "yeah yeah it's going to be a sunrise big deal" because at this point you have no real connection to the show yet except it's cute kids doing cute things or being chased by a giant monster. So anyway, as soon at the dialogue and ambience cuts out and all that's left is the song it's so much more impactful. I literally sat up from the chills I got when it showed the wide cut set to the music. I immediately was like, "I'm watching the rest of this show TONIGHT."
djburst exactly my opinion once I saw this, I knew I was in for a treat, I sat down and watched like 9 episodes. I had to pace myself I didn’t want to finish it all in one night but I had to
My friend said he will make a lot of these scenes, so he literally going to make a museum in 4K, check one of his works! czcams.com/video/hs53ltKknr4/video.html
The music made This scene even more magical, also after this scene I couldn’t stop watching..
After reaching this scene i was convinced , that i was about to watch a masterpiece.
I have watched Season 1, The movie and finally Season 2.
It truly is a masterpiece damm...
Stuff like this is in a league of its own. You can't compare shows like FMAB, BnHA, AoT to this. This is art, also the reason I love seinen anime, because it is filled with brilliant works such as Made in Abyss.
Comparing BnHA to any of the other titles mentioned is pretty impossible as well
Actually I think AoT (in its current form) and Made in Abyss have a lot in common: surreal and deep underplot, thirst for research, well-inserted creepy elements and even more. They don't rely so much on worked schemes and do an excellent job of just being themselves. For me, they are both instant classics.
I agree with what you've stated, but when it comes to made in abyss, what I mean is the feel of the show. Compared to the titles I have mentioned, made in abyss is more laid back, yet captivating none the less.
I'd like for you to take FMAB off that list as well. Yes this series is amazing and while it would be hard to compare these series, FMAB is one of those series that has something for everyone and more fascinating things in it's story than most people even acknowledge. There's a reason it has the reputation of being one of the best shonen of all time. Distilling the intellectual elements, it would have a lot to say in the realms of this, but it creates wider appeal, where even the most adhd teenage boy can watch it and enjoy it immensely.
@@Umbrosov yeah I think attack on Titan got me more curious but abyss is amazing too

This scene was a work of art in many ways, and by many people. I appreciate it
It was at this moment you fully realize that beauty, in all of its horror and glory, was added to the world and we're lucky enough to experience it.
How does this video have only 20k views?! It needs to have at least 20 MILLION, this scene is so epic it gives me goosebumps even tho i watched it like a hundred times
i found this song from a lofi anime channel (ns16!! recommend them alot :3) and the song really stood out to me, and thats the reason why i decided to check this anime out after 2 years of release, and hell i dont regret a single thing, this anime was a fantasy ive always had, going in a never ending hole finding magical things beyond imagination. Tremendo el poder del guión , la originalidad, la música, la historia, lo visual de esta serie, representa lo mejor del anime , para mí entre el top 10 de lo mejor de todos los tiempos

made in abyss is in one of my top 10. it's such a great series. i love the soundtracks, i LOVE the character designs, and especially the nature and sceneries. the sceneries are so pretty and beautiful, i get nearly speechless whenever i see them. heck, i even have some of them as my desktop wallpaper and the backgrounds of my browsers.
God damn there is this feeling i cant understand.

Ohh boy you're not alone. Wish I could teleport to this anime and see the abyss like that by myself
After I watched this scene, I needed to pause and stare at the wall for a while. How they showed the place was something else. One of my favorite anime scenes. Hands down.
Just like the anime, i felt curious but then it just felt like my last dive. Really love the series and i hope i can see the bottom of abyss

I hate it
You dont know how much i hate this show
This is something that will have to remain in my memories for years before i rewatch it again because its that good.
Even this soundtrack i listen to once every three month.
Even after after 3 years, i remember this show vividly.
It left me fucked up but happy.
This surpasses most fantasy shows, movies and trilogies( looking at lotr) out there
This is the definition of "dont be sad because it ended, be happy it happened".
you hate loving It so much lol
Stories like this ruins your standards. I understand you pal.
It gets harder looking for good stories after these. Its just so damn beautiful that it gives you a new perspective on writing. It exposes the lazily written stories for you.
Whenever i notice my standards are going high again I try to lower my standards by trying to turn my brain off and just relax on watching just so i can enjoy a majority of seasonal anime, but 2017 was the hardest year to do that.
it was hard because this goddamn beauty exists. the abyss calls us and it truly never lets go of whoever enters it. not riko, not reg, not nanachi, and not even the audience.
THOSE 13 EPS (AND A MOVIE) FELT LIKE MONTHS OF BREATHTAKING ADVENTURE. HOW TF DOES SOMEONE DO THAT? DOES MAGIC EXIST? DID SOMEONE ON JAPAN CURSE US BY RUINING OUR SENSE OF TIME? WHY IS THIS SHOW SO INTRIGUING.
istg. im sorry for writing so long. its just that i cant get over the fact that fiction can be this beautiful. i know im exaggerating this too much but like, its like god went down and possessed a japanese man to give the world this story. its bliss.

Was this scene in anime or movie?
@@EnryuCovers anime, in the first episode
This actually reminded me when my scout master knighted me as one of the Leader's Council on our school's boy scout organization.
We had this kind of "hell week" so to say for the soon to be knights of the leader's council on our boy scout organization just like the Navy Seals "hell week" but toned to 1% we had a whole week to build a camp out of Bamboos and straws with little sleep and the current Leader's council members will see our work and see how each person is, character development yada yada.
On the last night of the week we were blindfolded and most of us don't even know what time it was since we had little sleep to finish the camp making ditches, building fences, gates, tables, tools, etc. we were talked for many hours the leader's council and scoutmaster had a meeting on who will be the head of the next leader's council we were led to the center of our park in our school bent to our knees and when our scoutmaster Knighted me with a saber I was told to remove the blindfold.... Lo and behold I saw a sunrise in front of me and it was actually dawn which symbolizes the dawn of a new beginning for all of us since we were all knighted. I was in awe that day and we were all proud we finished all of that.
This is beautiful no matter how many times I watch it

Edit: Watched season 1 and the movie and loved it
I finally figured out why i love this scene so much; I come from a climbing/ adventuring background and there are place that while not as lovecraftian are absolutely as fearsome and huge as the abyss notably mountains like Nanga parbat and the north face of the Eiger: (both worth a google just to see what i am gerting at Parbat is the killer mopuntain almost as high as everest and far far deadlier the eiger is the stuff of legends the north face killed a lot of people too both are considered extremely hard to climb (harder than say k2) Google the eiger overlooking the town beneath it its the same feeling of a dreadful place of terror and death overlooking a beautiful peaceful town and people just being drawn to it non stop. It reminded me of why i love going to those places though.
This scene is so beautiful 😭
