You only use an invoice under certain circumstances and a sales receipt in other circumstances and it's important to know the difference between the two when entering sales in Quickbooks. If you don't know the difference you can really screw up your books.

How do you enter mixed payments? They pay part cash and part credit card, or with 2 different cards? Sales Receipts only take one payment. Thanks for the awesome videos!!

Is there an option to convert a sales receipt to an invoice? Sometimes customers neglect to inform if they will be paying now or later until after I've already made the receipt

Would I do a sales receipt for anything I don’t have an invoice out for? Or just record those as deposits?
In general, I would do a sales receipt so you can associate it with an item. deposits would work, but you would not be associating them with the item from the item list, whereas you would with a sales receipt

Neither. They are only for sales. Just record that as a deposit

If you are supposed to do a sales receipt and do an invoice instead you’ll reflect cash, AR and accrual revenue wrong
