The national anthem music is lacking everything. The music has NO impact on the mind, soul and body of an Indian. Maybe it is a version, meant and composed for foreigners. The composer has no real feelings about the national anthem and the impact is imperceptible. The first reaction is that we do not want to hear it any further. Those who like it, they are free to express their feelings. The musical sense of the composer is misplaced.
The first national song was in a movie, sung by Suraiya in 1947, and the song was ''Ban jao Hindustani''. Another great national song was ''Kadam, Kadam badaiya ja'' sung by the maestro C. Ramachandra. The lyrics and the music are so powerful, it will make the blood of every Indian boil. These are works of genius.
Not many people know that the Indian national anthem was composed, based on the lyrics and music of the anthem of the Indian National Army in Singapore during the fight for India''s independence and it was led by Nethaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The music is straight from the battlefield. You can get a similar feeling when you read Lord Byron''s poem, ''Waterloo''.
