No one commended the pianist? I think she did a totally amazing job accompanying Mr. Gitlis throughout all those tempo changes without missing a beat. And she seems very supportive and compassionate towards him as well.
As you age there will be many complications in the body and I don’t blame Mr. Gitlis for not being able to deliver a flawless performance. Let’s be honest, this isn’t the most awesome rendition musically speaking, but you can feel the sincerity and authenticity that both of these artists have in this specific moment. That makes this performance fantastic and heart warming.

This performance moves me. Like his appearance and his voice, Gitlis' playing has become rugged and weary as time has passed. Nevertheless, his love for music doesn't stop him from performing; he is not too proud to deny his reality and live out to the full (even though many players who never reached his level of technical mastery would have refused to play in public). A true artist.

Amazing too is the young lady and how she was right in sync with him, right through all the nuances, wow, is that right too? At least that's what I sensed. Thank you Maddy Catteau for sharing this!

I dont know why this is so great . I can hear it being out of tune and the weird bow scratches, but somehow he manages to make these errors sound lovely. In Liebesleid are a few long notes slightly out of tune and without vibrato which makes it sound like someone is actually crying about a lost love of something.
This is really the first time i prefer a „Bad“ performance (this one) over all the other ones
