Tons of places to visit in the Northeast. To name a few:
Mawlynnong, Meghalaya - Cleanest village in India plus a living root bridge
    Dawki, Meghalaya
Kaziranga, Assam - One Horned Rhino
    Majuli, Assam - River island
    Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim
    Nathula Pass, Sikkim
    Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh
Plus you could go to Bhutan from Assam. It's hardly a 5 hour journey from Guwahati.

From North-East! If you are planning to visit the place then you should go to Meghalaya- Dawki, Mawlynnong- Asia's cleanest village. You won't even see a tiny chocolate wrapper in this place! Home stays in Mawlynnong is amazing! Experience of a lifetime.
Another amazing trekking experience is when you visit Dzukou valley in Nagaland! It is heavenly!

Andaman! how come no 1 is talking about it? Guys, the scuba diving there is surreal. Doesn't even cost much tbh, in exchange for that amazing experience deep down the sea. 😅 for me Leh-Ladakh and Andaman have been the best tours of my life. Why would one want to visit Thailand / Singapore/ America and woh fuckall Disneyland when India has so many incredible destinations? I wouldn't choose to travel anywhere else 🙌

Ambuj Yadav yes, indeed! Also, contrary to popular belief that Jarwas are dangerous, people who've been to Andaman only know that they've already made attempts towards being civilised. In fact during our drive through the forests(on our way to Baranagar, if I recall correctly) we saw 2 men from the Jarwa tribe appointed as police helpers to control the traffic!

I have travelled completely across India on a bike.. started from Bangalore and came back in about 2 months time just before I left India last year. there are a ton of places that people should visit across India - there are these twin beaches called aarey-warey beach near rarnagiri, serene and most importantly untouched and as clean as it gets. there is kutch, dholavira and Rani ki vav in Gujarat, there is ranakpur in Rajasthan along with all the other forts and cities, there is the plains of Punjab and amritsar and towards North there is srinagar, and all of Kashmir and himachal is a blisa. there is spiti valley that people rarely go to, towards east sikkim there is zuluk valley, there is gangtok where Buddhist culture is unbelievebly well preserved. towards east in addition to temples, as you go south There is pondicherry, rameshwaram and Dhanushkodi in the east coast. there is this beautiful place called varkala in Kerala, it's famous amongst foreigners for being one kf thd only place where you can surf all year round. you guya should take 2 months off and travel the country on road. it's cheap and easy to travel.. I did it on a bike and took my 53 year old mum with me as Phillip. through out.
its a beautiful country to live in.

You guys have to go to the north-east. Not just the popular places like Shillong and Tawang, tiny places like Meou(the spelling might be wrong), a tiny village known for it's hand woven carpet industry in Arunachal Pradesh. I won't be lying if I say it's heaven on earth. Majuli island(largest river island in Asia) in Assam is a must go place. The Brahmaputra is absolutely breathtaking.
The reason why the north-east is so great is probably because it is highly unexplored.

Guys, the South Canara region of the Western Ghats is a MUST. The place has got all these shrines, which themselves are awesome! Even if you're an atheist, the faith you see there, is just out of this world! And other than that, the road trips in that region is the most beautiful thing I've seen. I've seen the Himalayas, but I still feel that the Western Ghats are the best! It's just so serene. A recommended trip would be to visit Kudremukh, which had India's largest iron ore mines before it was shut down in 2006 for environmental issues, and Agumbe, a small village which is home to the Agumbe Rainforst Research Centre, where great biologists from around the world research at! The ghats are just unreal! Then, on your way back to the National Highway circuit, the route via Udupi is just the best thing ever! I've seen a river flowing parallel to the road on my right, the Arabian sea to my left, and the sun and moon in the same frame! That experience was unreal! Without a doubt, this is a MUST explore!

I went to Sikkim last year. The place is just magical, right out of the scenery. You remember, when we were kids and we used to draw a scenery, there's river coming out from between the mountains and sun is rising/setting from between the series of mountain ranges, then we had a house in the corner... This entire scene has come from there!! They say Kashmir is heaven on earth but guys trust me Sikkim is heaven on earth and for that matter the entire northeast is marvelous!!! Do pay a visit and you wouldn't wanna come back!

I went to Guwahati and Shillong in the North East. You guys really have to go there. On your way to Cherrapunjee, you will see almost a 100 tiny waterfalls. And there's this root bridge place near Shillong where there's this huge bridge which is all roots and branches of trees that have been trained to form a bridge by the locals over centuries. And you'll feel how clean and pure the waters are there because your hair will feel all soft every time you wash it.
I'll explore more of the NE soon. Great great place.

Assam has a lot of wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, Brahmaputra is our pride and lifeline, there are a lot of monuments built by the Ahom dynasty in Upper Assam and to built those duck/hen's eggs mixed with soil and pebbles and stuff were used for cementing purpose. Those monuments are still upright.
Apart from that the tea gardens are mesmerizing. From Assam one can go to Meghalaya, apart from the normal touristy places in shillong, there is this small town called Dawki that shares the border with Bangladesh and the lake there is crystal clear!
Haven't been to Mizoram, Manipur (it's not always not safe to go FYI), Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh (But I have heard it's absolute beauty).
In Nagaland, I was there for two days in Dimapur for an interschool competition so definitely didn't get to go around much. however, the train journey from Nagaland to Assam was the best journey I had because of the scenic beauty.
Also, even though Gangtok is not part of the seven sisters, if you're around, it's worth going there as well. From Assam one needs to take a train to New Jalpaiguri Jn. From there board a bus or some jeep to go uphill to Gangtok.
