I think an expanded video on jigs and fixtures would be helpful. Great idea.
Thanks for how you detail your shared information for the rest of us. Well done.
Thank you Eric! I’m going to start on the script for the jigs and fixtures. I know some but I’ll learn even more doing a video on it
@@epeiusgarage excellent! I had never really thought about the difference in terminology and functionality so this will be beneficial. Perhaps you have examples already built and in use in your shop you could highlight?
@@ericerf6837 I have a ton lol. I use them for anything I make over. The whiskey taps have two I use
look great.I made them from 3x1" and also made some removable slide in shelves for the two tiers so you can put small ornaments on them( Just an option)
@@johnthompson3462 nice, I’ve seen lots of variants on these.
I like the torch idea!
Built one today along with my fixture. Great project. Posted on my Facebook and already getting interest. Thank you Sir!
Awesome!
Andy your work never ceases to amaze. Very creative. Like how you can put candles in them, yes the torch trick always work. Great work.
Thank you my friend!
I built a few of these but I hung battery powered fairy lights insteadvof the tea light. Looks pretty cool!
Seen those, they do look very cool.
I use the fairy lights for my projects. I buy a BUNCH of them after Christmas because they are marked way down.
First of your videos I've caught. I'd also like to hear your take on fixtures and jigs. Subscribed
Thanks for watching and subscribing! Yeah I’d like to do a video on that. Things have been crazy in my life lately but hopefully soon.
Thank you. And for the explanation of a fixture too.
My pleasure!
Am retired and enjoy crafting. I have some scrap wood but NO fancy tools. Jigsaw will have to work. I plan on making 5 of them. I suck at measurements ..... Why aren't any measurements to a regular length???
It’s the way the math works out. There’s some good tapes out there that have all the measurements on them. I link one in the description. I call it the best tape ever. You can message me on my Facebook page if you need any help
Fixtures you don’t move around, jigs u move
Great idea for scrap pieces.
Thank you! They were piling up and I was getting worried lol.
Really beautiful work, Andy! Nicely done! 😃
Thanks a bunch for all the tips!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you! You too! Always good hearing from you!
Good job and project thx for sharing Great colors
Thank you!
Thank you!! Great video
Thank you!
Hmm, wooden covered candle holders - good idea 🔥🤣👍
Lol way far enough from the flame to hurt anything.
These looks great,im gonna make some, have a template for the jig,or one i can print out, thanks, also im getting some glass blocks,im gonna make a whiskey tap,for my dad and see how it goes, then gonna try sell some. Thanks
That’s awesome! Need to send me pics on my Facebook when you do make these and the whiskey tap.
I made a jig but I don’t have drawings. Just use the dimensions I give in the video then lay out the pieces on scrap wood. From there you can lay out your jig how you want it.
You can always message me on Facebook messenger. Link in description
Great video! Just made one of these myself, New subscriber!
Thank you! I appreciate that! I’ll have to check your stuff out too.
Since the length doesn’t matter, only the angle, why not make it 6” instead 5 13/16”. Simpler measurement. Just curious.
Good question, I used some drawing a math teacher posted on Facebook. Since some are certain lengths I think it might matter. Try it out though🤷🏼♂️
Most people are not that measuring tape savvy. What difference would it make
( Not using someone else's measurements ). Just round it to the nearest 1/2 ,or inch.? It's hard enough for people to read a tape much less counting to the nearest 16th of a in . Really? Make it easier on people.
👍🏼
Love your sweater! Definitely gonna make these trees and sell them! In your area how much can you get for them? I just want a rough idea how much to sell them for.
I sold mine for $35 all day long.
I love the trees. You did such an excellent job making them. I followed the Amazon lead and I've ordered some of the 'regular stars', but I can't find the Bethlehem Stars. Did you get them from Amazon?
Thank you very much!
I had to order those elsewhere. You can google it and see what you come up with. I can’t find the link I used. I appreciate you watching and hope you find my other videos as informative as this one,
How much do you sell these for? It seems people in my area want things for cheap, no matter how much work is put in to it.
I hear you on that. I sold these - one for $25 or two for $40.
I love the trees you made. I have tried making them myself without a jeg. Question Do you have plans for the jeg you made? CW
I do not, I’m thinking of doing a quick video though. It has to be built to your trees so if I made plans it might not work. Basically you make the fixture around your tree.
thank you@@epeiusgarage
How do i connect to a link in the transcript? I want the Bethlehem star.
@@user-ts7fu9py5x should be able to just click on it,
The link was bad. I added a good one for you. Thank for letting me know
Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try and make some of these. If I may ask, what do you sell these for?
I think I was selling them for $35. Honestly, it’s been awhile and I forgot 🤣
Can you send me the pattern that you have please Thank you.
Not sure how I send it to you. All I have is what I posted in the video. I did not have a pattern.
Do you have drawn out plans for the tree and template ? Thanks. Can't capture a clear picture of the tree
The only thing I had was the drawing I put on the screen at 2:22 in the video.
As for the fixture I made it based on the first tree I made without a fixture.
Not sure if this helps. My facebook and email are in the description. Message me and I can send you the picture
I have to know where to get that sweater
It was on amazon almost a year ago. It is great though lol
It would have helped if you also gave measurements in metric.
Sorry, I don’t have them in metric. I’m in the states.
How do you build the jig/fixture for this Christmas tree?
I basically made the first tree using glue and Brad nails then built the jig around that. Kinda hard to explain. Maybe I should make a video on it specifically
@@epeiusgarage thank. You
Well done ,what do they sell for
Thank you! Thanks for watching too. I sell mine for $35. Hope you like my other stuff as well
where can I find your dimensions?? thanks
I added a link you can go to for the drawings.
I hope this is not a stupid question? When you overlap one board on the other, what is the measurement? Thank you. Sub!
No such thing as a stupid question my friend. Honestly I don’t remember. I wanna say I did like an inch. I don’t think it matters though.
Once you make that first one then make your jig off of that.
It’s not a jig, it’s a fixture! Lol. Just kidding. Thank you for your response and the content.
@@ronswoodshack haha this is true
I think more than 90 percent of the people that would watch should you use centimeters in stead of inches quit after 2.03 minutes, I am one of them.
Ok, well they have apps to convert those measurements. Sorry but over here we use the imperial system. I don’t disagree with you but imperial did get us to the moon🤷🏼♂️
and then NASA changed to metric@@epeiusgarage
All that time you spent writing that complaint could have been productively used looking for a conversion calculator. I think more than 90% of people who use the metric system watching an American made video would agree
@@VeteranCapybara 🤣
I always work in millimetres. Its what i prefer but it doesnt stop me watching these informative videos. I will make these but easily convert to my preferred system. Its not difficult.
