Pyrography! Getting Started Part 1 of 4 videos
For the last year I have been focusing on my love for Wood burning or Pyrography. Folks say I should concentrate on it. I thought i would do a little 4 part series on how to wood burn. This is the first of four. We will cover Getting started in this one, Image transfer in the next, My best secrets and tips in the third and for the final video we will take the image we transferred and burn it from beginning to end.
I hope you enjoy and see what I love in doing this art

One question, why not make your fill hole just barely bigger than the mounting nut that comes with spout? A long harbor freight hemostat or some longer tool would help mount rubber seal ant nut on rear of spout for a great seal. No silicone needed.

Good tip. For me though, when I took off the nut, the collet stayed with the bit. So I put it back together and pried it off. Watching you though gave me an idea; I'll plunge the bit way down so the bit shaft is expossed, and find a pair of dykes or fashion a prybar of sourts, something to get fairly even pressure on the non-working end of the bit and leverage it out. shrugs, might work...

Both words are common among woodworkers in the UK. I am English and my woodworking teacher, back in the 1960s, always called them a 'rabbet' and he cut them with a hand-held 'rabbet-plane'. The word comes from the Mediæval French 'rabat' from 'rabbattre' (to beat back).

👍🏻 glad it worked on your boots! I need to try that on Logan’s shoes, he’s so rough and crazy on his shoes.

Cool update video.... Looks like you put your boots through hell! Maybe they should coat them from the beginning! Love the lil funny videos you added!

Is the spout held on by silicone only? No nut on back of spout?

Yes, silicone only. The silicone is very strong.

Thanks for making the video. I also have both the Harbor Freight (HF) and the Freud. The HF was purchased at a yard sale and the Freud was purchased at an auction with a box of various 10" saw blades. BTW: I have a Rockwell wobble dado blade that I use to make rough surfaces. I've been using the HF set for ~10 years for various dado projects. The finish is very acceptable. Nice crisp edges. Tear out is limited with masking tape on the workpiece. The only drawback to the HF blade set is that if I don't apply a thin coat of oil on it, it'll flash rust, meaning that there's extra work cleaning the blades before use and oiling them before storing. Regarding the Freud set: I hadn't tried them as to this date. However, the blades have a black finish that helps prevent rust, which is a plus over the HF set. Looking forward to trying it out. I was dismayed that your results showed that the Freud gave an undesirable result.
