How to incubate Eggs under Peahen | Peacock Villa

- Like other birds peahens incubate their eggs too. Keep in mind this is a natural process and some females will sit earlier while some will sit on eggs at the end of breeding season. There are chances that some young females may not sit on eggs at all. When I saw one of my peahen is sitting on her egg, I collected eggs from other pens and placed all the 9 eggs under her. She has been sitting on them for three days. I would say make sure you place right number of eggs which female can cover properly. Placing excessive eggs can cause big loss.
We can use other birds too for incubating peacock eggs. for example, Turkey, chicken, duck etc.
All you need to do is find a broody bird i.e. already sitting on eggs. Be careful to choose the bird for this purpose. If that bird was sick or carrying any kind of parasites, chances are those parasites and bacteria will harm the freshly hatched chicks too. So double check before you choose a bird for incubation. It is always a good idea to keep some extra birds at your place for this purpose.
