  • The Kovalev pro curve is an absolute masterpiece that makes almost no sense to me, I have no idea how he possibly dreamt this curve up but it works wonders for stickhandling, dangling, and saucer passes.

Everything he says is true. At first I thought this blade sucked, couldn’t hit anything, but after using it for a couple weeks I’ve fallen in love with it. I can rip snappers and slappers from the point top shelf consistently. You can shoot top from literally everywhere with ease. If you shoot it off a roll down the blade the puck saucers vertical like the Poti curve and will wobble. Goalies hate it because of that. Backhanders are ok, stick handling is fine as well as passes. The best part in my opinion is the puck going vertically with adding a wobbly effect. It really throws people and goalies off, and it will sneak in small open spaces.

Best curve ever, thank you. I ordered two more sticks.

It is probably perfect because it has multiple different lies throughout the blade. The heel is probably like a 4-5 lie and then the toe area is like a lie 7.

Purchased one of these recently and its every bit as special as Geppetto says it is. The blade is a masterpiece for stick handling. If you like a standard P28 you should really check this curve out.

I buy these blade curves in bulk for my shafts and it’s a wicked curve. I get them for $10 a pop, they weigh around 100-120 grams made out of composite material. I have a video of my using it in a broken trigger 5 or 7 pro I fixed. I highly recommend this curve.

Where do you get your blades from? Been trying to find the Kovalev RH clone for a long time

The closest I've seen to a Kovalev Pro in anything retail is the E13-Darby. Especially the patterns from his younger days line up quite close.

This curve reminds me a lot of the actual Sakic pro curve. Pretty flat with a small loft starting at the heel, then a small mid-toe curve. Joe used a shorter blade and a smaller overall curve…but a similar profile that let him release those wicked snapshots from pretty much anywhere on the blade.

Did you sat at 1:50 that "this isn't a shooters curve"?
Kovalev had/has one of the hardest and most accurate wrist shots ever.
    Maybe not for mortals. LOL
I had the benefit of using wooden sticks as a teenager. We used to heat and bend the blades to exactly the way we wanted them. You could tweak them in so many ways to fit the way you stickhandled and shot.
That was the last time I had a curve that did what I wanted effortlessly when I play. I find the composites are never quite right. And when you buy one you are screwed if it doesn't fit your styles. You can't tweak them.
That is why all the older NHL patterns are unique. Those guys spent seasons adjusting it until it was perfect....and all the newer NHL guys all pretty much use a P92 or a close variant.

I mean he isn’t wrong. It really isn’t a shooters curve. That being said, I agree that they are all unique. No one is playing in the NHL and can’t snipe. Everyone customizes to bring out their best.
Idk if you remember or saw the Lashoff curve. I think Matt Lashoff but anyhow; that curve was a riot at well. A banana curve that was straight, long, narrow blade and just a mess of 100 lies 😂 You’d think it was impossible to get a decent shot off with but it was one of my all time best. That being said, it wasn’t a shooter’s curve at all 😂 For a week I was repainting the ceiling 😂
