  • hree families with supersized broods are asked is bigger really better, while the Hamlins and their ten kids seek to challenge the perception that large families survive on handouts.
Most people feel that their families are complete after they have had a couple of babies, some will try for a third and a small (but brave) minority may even go for a fourth or fifth. In this series, we will meet eight of the biggest families in the UK to find out what it is like to raise 10 or more children.
The fights, the rewards, the love and the frustration that go hand in hand with having a family will be seen here, multiplied and laid bare. Is every sibling interaction a struggle for dominance and parental attention, or in the case of families is bigger really better?
Family holidays, weddings, births, domestic life, and rights of passage are important events in the life of any family, but what are they like when you have more children than you can count on two hands?
Real Families brings you stories of modern day family life from around the world through the eyes of children, parents, and parenting experts.

And think about it in some places if you can't afford your kids you have to give them up or else watch you and your other kids starve, so when compared to that living situation having children is a luxury

Tbh the mother really should be ashamed. She makes her poor teenagers watch all her annoying brats so she can go out and have a splendid time while her teens slave away on the kids *she* made. It was her decision and her teens shouldn't have to pay the price for it.They deserve a life too. Unless the enjoy it(probably not), which is great, but the concept isn't ethical not caring or kind. Parents like that are why we are overpopulating. It's cruel the parents would have so many kids and they can't even have a fun childhood because they can't go anywhere fun because they're poor. It's not like their teenage years are fun either because they have to do nothing but watch their younger siblings. Parents like those are seriously cruel and don't care about the planet. This is why we have poverty, world hunger, and more. This needs to stop. The parents should be ashamed. The kids did nothing wrong though they're getting rude stares and comments just because the parents don't care.
Even if you have enough money to afford having a bunch of kids it doesn't matter because that still causes overpopulation.
I know I'm only fourteen but at least I am able to see ethics.
Maybe you want to have a big family but you also shouldn't be selfish, and please, figure out what a condom is and how to use it please.
I'm not shaming you for wanting a big family but rather being selfish and not thinking about your kids or the planet Earth.
None of this was to offend anyone, I just wanted to speak out on my opinion. So I'm sorry if you have ever been offended, but if you did, you should probably consider what decisions you are making. I just want the world to be a happy place and I had no intention of offending anyone.
      Peace✌

Sadly most men spend less than two hrs a month one on one with their own kids!
Whenever they do spend time with them society pats them on the head for doing something that truly is their responsibility
The male ego often is so huge the best way to train them is to buy a 'how to train your old dog' book and apply these lessons to your man.... He will be potty trained and you will be all the happier for it!
Men need to be praised just like the family dog to reinforce positive behaviors
Stroking their ego 'good boy, good dog! ' pats him on head....

@Angrry Ereg maybe so but some women find it necessary to keep them around
Applying these few rules can make it easier to live with thrm
Who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks?
I taught mine to fetch, so he would call me everyday after work and see what he could bring home!
By giving him the happy home coming you would give your dog when he returns the stick you have reinforced that desire to do good and come back to a happy home coming... It works really well
You would be surprised how well all men do under this type of training...

I wouldn't say I raised him, but I did help out and didn't seem to mind too much (loved babies anyway), probably enjoying rocking him to sleep for naps more than changing diapers though. Lol. But I got a lot of valuable practice/experience. I think it helped mold my current abilities to care for infants and young children and that I can take with me into motherhood (and I want to be a mom someday!). But importantly, maybe there's a difference since we only had 5, and I wasn't his primary caregiver. I don't go for the idea of having so many kids you MUST have your older daughters do ALL the raising. That doesn't seem right to me. I was only giving my mom supplemental help.

You can’t just bring a human being into the world because it “makes you happy”. Children aren’t baby dolls, they’re real people who are depending on their parents to love and care for them. Parents should only have as many children as they can provide for and take care of without having to live off of others or draft their oldest children into parenting the younger ones.

My husband is from a large family, and he tells horror stories of how bad it was. If it was such a great experience for him growing up, wouldn't he have wanted to give it to his own children?

Marie Katherine Tbh the mother really should be ashamed.
      Peace✌

Sadly, most big families I've seen make their kids look after each other a little too much. Of course 2 people can't watch over 12+ kids on their own, and that's really sad because the older siblings didn't ask for all those kids. That's my biggest problem with big families. If the parents take care of their kids all on their own without having to force the older siblings to become parents themselves- then I'm okay with them.

Lee is a good man to be a father to the kids who aren’t his biologically, a lot of guys would run away from their own responsibilities let alone those of another. There’s a lot of love in that family and kudos to them for not being on benefits. He may not be a rich man but he’s providing and that’s worth it’s weight in gold. Such a well mannered beautiful family :). The other mother looking for baby number 15...not so much. I feel sorry for her daughter Georgia as she seems to be the real mother. I can’t imagine having 14 kids and fussing about my dating profile and going to shindigs while my teenage daughter is at home being a mother to her 13 siblings. It’s beyond sad and completely unfair. That woman needs her puss sewed up. Seriously it’s disheartening what that girl has to contend with through no fault of her own. At least she had all 14 with one father.. And he did stay with her a long time.. However for him to bail..really sucks for her... Her house is pristine..compared to a lot of families on assistance that I have seen in these videos..and the Hamlin family..they are amazing and great at budgeting.. Kuddos to them...those poor kids...they go thru so much grief..

Even if she had 14 with different fathers what’s the difference ? Kids are kids no matter if they came from the same man or not.

How embarrassing for that girl to have her mom going out in that getup while she has to watch the kids. Girlfriend needs another hobby.

@@jehouse61 , that is typical in large families. That is why girls from large families LEAVE home asap. I am so glad to be in a SMALL family where such drama didn't exist. I feel sorry for anyone in a large family. Slave laborers had it better.
