- Here’s a nice video of the rough weather sea trials of San Ciprian’s new Interceptor 42 Pilot boat ‘San Ciprano’. With the Covid-19 travel restrictions in place and the Guys from San Ciprian unable to fly here at present we’re having to do a remote ‘on-line handover’. So we made this video to give them every confidence that she is performing well, as she handled comfortably the stormy conditions prevailing on the South Coast of Ireland last Friday nicely, with winds of 50kts at the entrance to Cork Harbour, and over 4m heavily breaking seas offshore in the shoaling waters off the Daunt Rock, presenting the exact heavy weather conditions she was designed and built for. As the pilots in San Ciprian have to deal with the challenging seas of the Bay of Biscay in wintertime, we wanted to ensure she was up to the task. She is due to be shipped overland shortly where she is needed urgently to ensure essential pilotage to ships entering and departing the Port in Northern Spain.

For someone who gets seasick in the bath ;-) - this is VERY impressive stuff! Huge kudos to anyone piloting a craft in these waters. Awesome vessels!
As a sailor of 14 years i take my hat off in respect.
Well done
This is amazing. However, cheers to the drone pilot for this footage. I can't believe it was even able to fly in 50kts. Thank you.
I think that drone footage may have been captured from a helicopter
Lovely views and pretty boat n strong waves 🌊
That is some boat, beautifully engineered
Incredible boats . Even more incredible CAPTAINS. Admirable Skills. Kudos to both equally.🛥🇺🇸
Stunning engineering and spectacular testing footage
Too bad we never actually see the boat get completely through a wave. The editing really sucked big time.
Extraordinario insuperable .
These boats are amazingly sea worthy.
Fantastic boat handling skills but it sure is a great looking vessel and nice sea handling
very nice, I’ve always loved north seas life boats, this reminds me of them, great design for several applications I could come up with
Super nice boats!Thanks Frank!
Simply amazing!!
Wouahhh...Ça c'est du vrai boat !!! A boats like these, for sure I would feel 100% safe !!!
C'est exactement des boats comme ceux-ci que je n'aurais pas peur du tout, 100% confiance totale !!!
Thank you for this video !!! ;-)
Great video as always and a super and very capable vessel. 'Arun class' styled hull, carries her shoulders well fow'ard with great flair too! Will stand the test of time well Frank!
EXCELENTE QUE BUENO ES VER AL PILOT EN ACCIÓN
Those are proper sea trials. Well done!!!!
Amazing footage well done 👍
Amaizing, real 4x4 boat for sail !
Gorgeous vessel! So sea kindly and fast!
Wow impressive footage and great sea trials.
Ah man I was looking for the self righting test. I take it that IS one of its capabilities cause you know sooner or later a wave is going to turn the boat abeam and cause it to capsize. Nevertheless that is an impressive design for a Pilot boat. I really liked how it lifted and rode over the waves rather than just submarining through.
It’s a pilot boat not a bloody RNLI Lifeboat! Although she’s very seaworthy, they all have their limits.
what an amazing boat
Now that's a sturdy craft!
Awesome, AWESOME rig sir!
Brilliant, love it
amazing, I'm very very impressed, too many big flood able cockpits out there
Wow, seems like a really good boat! Looks tight as a submarine. With a little bit of help from the skipper, seems like it could get through almost anything.
😱 muito perfeito!!!!!!
Parabéns.
Pilot boat is magnificent !
Wow Great construction
Beauty & The Beast !!
Awesome video incredible boats !
No problem whatsoever, she takes on rough sea very easily!! Wellbuilt!!
Great boat
Great footage
Good job on the one capturing the video👏🏼
This is just awesome. Let me grab my medication. 🤢. Thanks for the ride. ☮️
She's a beast!
Beautiful
That is the vessel my friend!!! Best I’ve seen!!!
Fantastic video
My heroes . Fear no weather; fear no water
Brilliant Engineering, you made a very good job
Very uniquely satisfying video...
Fantastic footage and boat handling!
You know it's very selfish what I am about to say but I wished you hold a contest where first prize would be a ride on Thunder Child 2 . That's about the only way a mortal like me would ever stand a chance of getting a ride . Oh well .
Buy a jetski ...it's even more fun!
Richard I am with you! Bucket list to go out on Thunder Child. 💖
That was dumb
Good day for a sea trial ! Yeah! ....
Top notch.
Muito bom , parabéns .
Radical sea trial 😎🇺🇸⚓️
Apparently they use the pilot's giant clanking steel balls for ballast...🤣🚢
Ow well there goes my clever comment LoL
대표님 너무 멋진니다ㅡ 최고 입니다ㅡㅡㅡ
I think the 20 people who disliked this must have been seasick.
😂😂😂
Hahahaha , very good .
No, they thought they were pushing the "like" button, but they live in Australia
@@natewilson111 theres plenty of us with big balls in Australia Australia mate. come fish out of Portland Victoria when it's 9meter seas then your arse will pucker. fishing for tuna 35kn southerly seas 9 m 18.5 foot boat. separate the salty dogs from the men.
@@marlin123ish Ah, it was a joke about being upside down (on the other side of the earth)...no offense
I'd be guessing there's be a few sore ribs a stiff neck or two and some huge grins, she looks perfectly balanced in that messy swell and waves great video .
Well done.
Increible y heroico
Right boat, right crew...that's a party....hot damn.
Nice boats!
Oh Wow !
Both boats are 💯
They get some really crazy seas off the Irish west coast
Any test after losing power?
Would be interesting to see maximum lateral roll etc.
Excellent work .
Thanks
They’re self righting
I would crap myself seeing that wave coming over my bow.
👑
Impressive
Now that is what I would call rough, surface submarines 🤭
The only company that sees 50kn of wind and 4m waves, and says "what a brilliant day for an ocean outing"
Maybe
I have sailed in 9M swell and 6M wave height in a canoe stern 40" French built timber sloop.I have also driven pilot vessels, tugs and have even piloted the replica of Captain Blighs tender that he sailed though the Torres Straits. Wind is just wind.
@@seanworkman431 Yeah but I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose!
@@elk-life1868 My hobby and my job. On purpose for sure.
@@seanworkman431 yes so have i.
Powerful
Awesummmm!!!!!!!
Reminds me of Cape Disappointment
nice video
I guess we need to upgrade our boat ;-)
great boat amazing what it handles but I'd like to see it get one side on see if it rights itself or if it even rolls.
Olé España compra lo mejor barcos pilotos del mundo enhorabuena España
BRILLIANT VIDEO as always tell me how do you deliver this boat Thank you
Overland by transporter Ruairi
Wow 13.4 feet. That should be amazing to swim I should be honered to swim that
Woooooow
They get some rough weather in that area.
Balls size of the universe. Braking waves of two story building height, and those boats cruising around back and forward and sideways like nothing happening. Curries to see them at Haulover inlet on a rough day.
Its a damn good day for sea trials.
And thunder child watches.
Watched this without sound, like the little boat was, "Weeeee!!"
I just found the answer to my question. The pineapple one is the Thunder Child. This is sick.
Safeheaven is a steel cold boat builder, not afraid to face what ever nature throws at them - when riding their boats that is. They are world's nr 1 with a huge margin. In the worst of storms, there is no safer place than being at tormented seas in their boats. Period.
👍 👍 👍
Long live Spain !!!!
Wow, that was kool
Try the Columbia bar sometime with the coasties !
They're pretty much elimitating pilot boats in the Columbia bar now. The bar/pilot captains are now using helicopters & roping down to the vessels entering the bar.
Impressive shots!
Are these sea trials conditions part of contract or just testament to your commitment and your confidence in how well you (and team) build these boats ?
We just believe in fully testing the boats Lionel, and have good conditions for it here. Enjoy it to!
@@frankkowalski6405 worked in a Shipyard in Canada where we had to roll over a similar design with a crane to prove she would self rite but that looks like way more FUN ! Hope you have more on the books
Must have some very awesome sea legs.
That’s very nice wish we had one with Tow Boats US. I’m tired of getting wet. Lol.
Очень круто!
I like the gold-colored boat much better. -- Signed, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and veteran surface warfare officer
Wwooww... Amazing 🤙🤙💪💪
And i thought riding through i footers in a little 17 foot ski boat was rough...
MAGIC Engineering a credit to your team ,who needs a super yacht ,when you could have one of these ,more grins more fun if you new how to handle it .thunder child is triple magic .ROCK UP IN THE SOLENT FOR A BLAST
Now this is a real C trial. After watching this video the person who buys this boat and knows exactly what he can do but I would've liked to have seen if the boat would handle or I should say how it would handle a wave hitting it on the side the rollover capability.
Wowwww
👏👏👏🤘😘
Viva España!!!
See how she would fair broadsiders to the waves
