- The Mario and Luigi series is one of my favorite series that have come from the Mario name, and despite the fact that they aren't making any more of them, that didn't stop me or my friend @ClunKCC from making a terrible decision... what if we made Mario and Luigi: Dream Team a multiplayer game?
Yes, you read me right. By using very legitimate 3DS mechanics, we managed to make Mario and Luigi: Dream Team a "fully functional" multiplayer game, and suffered through all of the issues that that brought.

tbh i expected luigi and mario to be able to move independently and don't have to follow each other outside of battles, but that would probably be almost impossible to mod in
Not to mention the bros moves you have to do to get around, imagine Luigi being all the way on the left side while Mario is on the right, but Luigi gets warped right over to him because Mario needs to do the ball hop.
it's possible, at least I think it is, I've seen someone Mod Paper mario and made 2 player able to control the partner character and they were able to move freely around the map along side mario (P1)
There are hammer moves that can seperate the bros so you can already escape Luigi but, you can’t go back playing as Luigi, superstar saga did something better though, so it’s probably just a matter of coding that the mode of being seperate is always active

2. Hard mode will be hell, as if it already wasn't painful enough
3. Even if someones willing to play with u, who knows they might forget and ur save file will be for nothing

Fun Fact: The main game of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga can actually be played multiplayer when played on the GameCube using the GameBoy Player and having two controllers plugged in.
It doesn't split the input between Mario and Luigi, so it makes it even more important for both players to adhere to their roles. I used to do this with my brother and we were able to do advanced Bros. Attacks to take out Cackletta!
if nintendo ever *somehow* makes another mario & luigi game or they make another remake for switch 2 or whatever they gotta have a multiplayer mode for it, it would be so peak

In Superstar Saga, they did make it so if you were playing using the Gameboy Player through the Gamecube then 2 player is possible.

Yeah, closest i managed to get was playing on emulator. Husband controlling Mario during battles while i controlled Luigi, still kinda sucks only one person has real control in the overworld tho
honestly I think the giant battles are gonna be enough compensation for the fact that one person gets to do like. nothing during the dream world sections
Ironic that you say this game hates luigi, cuz I would consider this game to be Luigi's redemption arc.
He goes toe to toe with Bowser as a giant in the dream world and fights alongside Mario to defeat him in basically a godlike state in the real world, Bowser even starts calling Luigi by his actual name from now on, seeing him as a genuine threat now.
...Naturally, because Paper Jam ruins everything, in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, the world acts as if this never happened and gets back to treating Luigi like a tool.
They even treat him worse *Chough Chough* Starlow
@@flaminblaster Yeah, she be flaming him out of NOWHERE in that game, at least she had a reason to in BiS at times, like when he tried to make Starlow and Mario fight a boss instead of him.
Meanwhile in Paper Jam, Luigi is literally just being concerned for Toads and Starlow just messes with him anyways.
Luigi just destined to be hoed by the l status quo
And yet Paper Jam continued the development of Bowser calling him Luigi.

Me and a friend of mine literally just started playing Superstar Saga DX like this a week ago. We intend to go through all the games that way. Also I never played any of the games beforehand so it’ll be interesting.

Fun fact, the reason why you beat Antasma in the intro that easily, is because you currently are in Luigi's dream, meaning he really believes his big brother would absolutely *obliterate* Antasma, on first try with little efforts.
Antasma is way stronger after that, to the culmination of making her own dream to fight in!

Bro, I've always liked playing the game like this. One time as a kid, my brother and 2 of my cousins played Partners in Time together. I just remember all 4 of us crowding our hands on one ds trying to time our button presses. Thank you so much for doing this.

This is pretty good actually! A cool thing I thought of is Luigi controls the Luiginary attacks, at least to be included in the dreamy battles. it would’ve been cool.

Crazy idea i thought of, what if KingPotassium did the Luiginary attacks in the dream world, to make up for how you only play as Mario there.
The big jump moments with Breezy Luigi gives off the same vibes as Charlie Brown kicking the football. Lucy (King Potassium) keeps saying he won’t pull it away from Charlie (ClunKCC), but then they always do
God I miss this game. I still have it imma play through it all on hard mode again
