And when they try, they blow the roof off the building. I'll NEVER forget when I had the pleasure of driving Martha around Dallas a few years ago, and her speaking voice in the confined space of the car was just overwhelming...and intoxicating. That lady has some legendary pipes.

@xbase09 Martha's roots are in gospel - she comes from a Pentecostal background, if memory serves.. Her talent was first discovered while singing in her family church at a VERY young age. As a teenager, she toured Europe with a gospel group called News of the World.
