So what if you have less than 6 riders, can you just not use it?
CORRECTION: Only 2 riders required, but they both have to have a SENA unit that is MESH capable.
@@SpeedAddictsTV I almost didn't buy it because of this! I need to buy it for my electric dirt bike tours. LOL I don't want any funny business and just want it to work.
I love my Sena ST1. It’s flawless in connecting with other Sena Mesh users.
Thing is the range claims of 1.3km is utter BS. Maybe in Death Valley it is but in the UK the max range between rider to rider is about 350 metres.
But saying that, 350 metres between each rider is pretty damn good. The sound quality is amazing. Really good value. I paid £150 for mine from J&S. How did I ever ride without it. Hooks up with the phone for GPS audio instructions or other audio perfectly. Sound quality is fantastic and goes up to really loud if needed on a windy motorway for example. Battery life is great. Get one.
ps: Sena ST-1 or RT-1 Mesh does NOT work with PackTalk Mesh. Incompatible systems.
Basically all SENA & Pactalk Mesh are different systems and will NOT communicate with each outer * Unless the units support Bluetooth intercomm. (The ST1 & RT1 does not offer bluetooth Intercomm)
Appreciate the feedback.
Awesome review as always! I have a question about the st1: since this model doesn’t have a music sharing feature can I still do it by using spotify’s jam session? It’s the same as listening to your own music while talking through the mesh intercom, correct?
If it's via Bluetooth, then it should work. Can't confirm.
Hi nice video just want to ask you a question I have a sena 50c I want to buy this for my wife as a pillion passenger can I use it for a pillion passenger.
What you advise Bluetooth is better or mash can you recommend
Mesh is better, but it is brand exclusive.
I'm confused, it's not good for communication with just one passenger on the bike?
Yeah I am confused as well, he said a minimum of 6 riders, what if you a passenger are the only ones together? you cannot communicate? I need clarity on that as well..
One to one is possible. Will be a mini mesh. Point to point.
There should be no issue connecting with just one other person.
The sticky tape to hole the sena to the helmet doesn’t work anymore. What do I do to mount the sena back to my helmet?
Most comm units come with a clip mount to use if you do not want an adhesive.
Hi can it still connect to two phones at once ? cos i use one main one and second phone for GPS
I believe it would only allow for 1 Bluetooth connection per device
If anyone is wondering I bought it and yes you can connect to two phones or one phone and one gps at the same time
the st1 supports up to 24 riders with a range up to 5 miles
Thanks for watching!
hi can i listen to music via Bluetooth and talk to my rider buddy ?
You should be able to.
the spider st1 was a complete disappointment, the range between them with its mesh mesh does not exceed 200 meters, when in the description it says that up to 2 kilometers in the open field just when a truck gets in the way the signal is cut off, they have already been done 2 updates and nothing that improves communication, they are not waterproof, water leaks very easily and that is another big problem because you risk damaging the internal system.
There are better equipment for a lower price, they already made me a warranty replacement of the equipment, it took 60 days, and in the end they continued with the same communication problem between them and the water filtration.
You mentioned better equipment, I'm looking for units for me and my friends to try out! We're so close to settling on the rt1, what are these other units though? I'd really love to investigate before i possibly waste money buying 6 of these things!
That's a shame. Have you thought about trying a Cardo unit?
I'm not following this guy. I buy this unit, my girlfriend is on the back of my bike, she can't hear me?. So I need a minimum of 6 other rider to start hearing from anyone. I am confused. What is this unit good for then?
Slight correction here. These Spider units from Sena ARE mesh only, but that doesn't mean you need more than two riders. As long as BOTH units are Sena Mesh units you can connect - two Spider Units, one Spider Unit and a 50 series etc. If someone is running a Bluetooth only unit OR a different brand of unit they'll be out of luck. Hope this helps!
@@SpeedAddictsTV Yes absolutely....I want this unit for my rider with my club...they all use mesh...and I also want to get a dual pack for me and my girlfriend when she is on back.
@@M_J_Glide_22 Then you are good to go! The whole ideal behind the Spider series was to produce a mesh unit that was not $300+ as many of them are, so great and affordable way to get a mesh unit for riding with your crew. At the time we made the video we incorrectly there was a minimum rider count for mesh to function and that is NOT the case.
@@SpeedAddictsTV Thank you very much
