  • Audio taken from roughly 6 minutes and 29 seconds into the ‪@Drawfee‬ video, Drawing Pokémon Type Combos that were NEVER USED IN GAME. Only they could talk about how the trillion-polygon mud from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can only be handled by an incredibly powerful computer, such as a hypothetical Switch 2 (or as I've been calling it, the Switch Ultra) and by extension, the PS4.
    • Drawing Pokémon Type C...
    Also remember, if any member of Drawfee sees this, it is considered canon.
    Music Used (In Order):
    Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - South Province (Riding)
    Doom (1993) - E1M1 (At Doom's Gate)
    Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow - Lavender Town

    So I wouldn't blame the switch for pokemons poor looks/performance, like it runs BOTW and the Physics magic that was TOTK. So that's more so just... a Game freak issue.

    When judging the Switch 2, remember that it is a portable console that can plug in to the tv and should be judged by handheld standards.

      It's also important to acknowledge IMO that the Pokemon games running and looking like dogwater is much moreso an issue on the development side at Game Freak (whether you want to blame the deadlines forcing their hand or not) than it is on the hardware. Mario Odyssey looks and runs a billion times better than Pokemon SV.
      (I get this is just a funny bit though and the bit do be funny)

      Well...if the info that's come out about the specifics about how it will handle down-clocking in mobile mode are true (a huge assumption, I'm aware), the Switch 2 will very much not be a mobile device that can hook up to a TV, it will be a console that can down-clock to go mobile.
      And either way, it's on Nintendo if one of the two modes are functionally inferior. If they decide that sub-30 fps is an acceptable thing for their console because they are limited by the mobile portion, then they also have decided that they're ok accepting flack people throw them about the console being bad. The handheld might be fantastic, but they're selling a console too. It's not the consumer's fault the company decided to sell a handheld pretending to be a console (or vice versa if the Switch 2's downclocking for mobile mode causes the handheld to be the lackluster side). You judge the whole package of the product, not a portion of it, imo.

      @@Matoyak I am not saying it can't be criticised, just compare it for what it is, not what it isn't.
      There were way too many criticisms of the Switch not being as powerful as the home consoles at the time, when it was a handheld.

    • @Matoyak
      @Matoyak Před měsícem +9

      @@almightyk11 it's important to acknowledge what the device is, yes, agreed. Which wasn't a handheld device. It was a handheld device *and* a console. That's literally the entire Thing it was marketed as.
      It has to be judged as both, and it has severe flaws as a console. We don't know what the Switch 2 will be, but the info we have implies it's console-forward rather than handheld-forward. If that is true, it will be fair to judge it on any issues that causes on the handheld side, same as it's fair to ding the Switch for its problems as a console.

      @genericname8727 Před měsícem +1

      @@Matoyak To some degree I do think judging the switch as a console is also not judging it as both console and handheld, any more than just judging it against other handhelds is. The fact you can quickly switch between playing on your tv to taking the game with you as you move about is significant, and will inevitably mean it won’t be at the same level as devices designed just to use as a console with your tv. Otherwise all the other consoles would try and be handheld too.
      People can still criticise it and complain about worse graphics and stuff. I’m just saying that a realistic judgment also wouldn’t expect a Switch to be on the same level as a console to the latest PlayStation or Xbox.

    I mostly like that many Nintendo games seem to know their limits and use them to their advantage, to the point that i think them being limited is a good thing for the company. Plus they, historically and esp with mainline titles, prioritize fun, play and mechanics and are often very beautiful and aesthetic bc they go for a more colorful style instead of everything looking overrendered and having those black shadows that look like someone just used an air brush set to black - i don't know why so many realistic ganes always oiok like that - and when the hyper realistic humans move in uncanny ways and you can see that they are basically puppets with textures clipping at the joints - if i was a hardcore gamer id be able to look past those issues i'm sure, but as a casual gamer, a game like botw or totk zelda is not only full of creative but accessible fun, both use cell shading but also have amazing character design and a cohesive art style and a world that prioritizes beautiful sensory experiences. and I'm worried if Nintendo gets too good at graphics they'll just end up with stuff the looks like everything else
