How easy it is when you have a staple gun, we stretched the canvas with a hammer and nails. The canvas wasn't white, but genuine linen, we had to prepare all the layers. Gelatin was applied to clean linen canvas, and then the whisper followed, etc. Thank you for the videos and lovely memories of my studies, including the grisaille technique - it's almost 20 years ago now, for me :)
the ancient grisalle technique.. it is useful in beautiful tonal and chiaroscuro works, it facilitates the veiling of the color... but sometimes it bores me😅 I use a color composed of ultramarine blue and umber then with white... it's not bad, the dark pattern that dissolved in turpentine is the basis of the painting, like "bistro color". Come on 🎨🥂

Hahaha “looks like milk smells like hell”. You said you fixed the drawing a little bit….can I ask, is that in a traditional way (painting the outlines?) or do you also use (workable?) fixative for that at the academy? Inspiring to see you all studying at the academy!

I just finished drawing so that everything looked normal, because the drawings after transferring through tracing paper or charcoal look clumsy and need to be improved) I finished it with a graphite pencil, so fixing it with a fixative spray is not necessary, since it will not be erased as easily as charcoal
@@ksyelf5820 thank you for your reply! Oh yes I understand, you won’t smudge the pencil as much as the charcoal. I thought though it’s often advise to not use pencil because of the mixing with the paint (or ‘shining’ through later?) but if you do that at such a high quality academy I assume it’s totally fine to use pencil.

Is it a kind of medium?...what purpose does it serve?...and I'm sorry to say that it is very toxic due to the ammonia. I'll see if it can be replaced with another substance. I would be very grateful if you could clarify this.
