It takes a very intelligent talented ambitious person to do the things she does and be as great at it as she is !!!! I think you should give her more credit .You said she's doing pretty good. It looked to me like she was doing excellent !!! With all the welding she was doing. To have a little trouble getting started one time.I wouldn't even have mentioned it .Especially on video. It is amazing how relaxed and comfortable she appears and how well she took it when you did mention hard start on video!! That would have really thrown off some people and made them very self conscious and nervous!

After all the fixing and repairing you do Andy, it's good to see you decide that "enough is enough" and just purchase a new piece of equipment. You do MORE than most other farmers would do to upkeep equipment and extend it's life. Time, effort and money sunk into a money pit is not a good business decision. Keep on doing what you do....

Andy, I like your attention to detail, no warpage, square and straight, prime and paint, etc. You take pride in doing the job correctly and neatly. Grandma Peterson would say, "Donald (Andy), your name is golden. Ven you do a yob, people see how you vork and then they know vat type of person you are. Take care of your boss's tools better than you take care of yours. Then they vill say, Vell, he's a vorker, you can hire him and the vork gets done right. Then you vill always have a yob."
    It's a simple world, eh.

You have a talented family Andy and you have the foresight to provide your children with the opportunity to learn how to work and gain some pretty considerable skills. And you give them the opportunity to both succeed and fail in a safe environment. I also like the way you coach them. They get complimented on what went well and coached on what might have gone better plus you also coach them on what needs to be done to account for anything. All of this seems to happen as if it is part of doing a job and it is. You are developing young people who know how to work, accept responsibility for doing a job correctly, accept constructive criticism and learning to take pride in what they do. You do this in a consistent manner, a normal and unemotional attitude with a little humor mixed in. All this and your children are learning to work like a responsible adult. They are gaining confidence and learning how to prepare to do a job in an environment that centers on growth and skill development. I cannot think of a better example of how to help your children learn how to cope with the world. You are a good father and an excellent coach. Your sense of humor is refreshing. I sometimes think the most important lesson we can learn in life is what to do when a mistake is made or something doesn't go as planned. Adults own their job and do what has to be done to correct surprises.
    Well done.
If I were 30 or 40 years younger I might suggest we collaborate on a training course for new supervisors on how to coach effectively and mentor and develop inexperienced workers. A good share of young adults today don't even know that starting a job at 7 AM does not mean walking in the door at 7. It means you are changed into the correct work attire, have talked to your buddies about the latest school athletic event and had your coffee and are on station reviewing and planning the job, understanding any safety issues, what could go wrong and ready to start wrenching or contribute to a job planning meeting and understanding what others are doing and how your activities fit in with everyone else's job. These things are not part of the public education curriculum. There is learning how to work associated with extra-curricular activities such as band, choir, sports teams, drama club plays, year book staff, etc. I spent 35+ years in the Nuclear Industry, 20+ years as an operations instructor. I like the way you coach.
    Great job Andy!

She's been welding for 20 years..lmao! She really needs to put her initials with the date on the front of the bed! That young lady could weld a beer can to a good idea! Love your channel Andy! Keep on talking and keep us updated with everything!

It is good to see Sarah learning how to weld.
A lot of people don't know how to weld.
Or know what welding is these days

Sarah's welds all look nice and smooth, at least all the ones you have shown a closer view of. I am very impressed by what all that girl can do!
