No replacement for displacement! That is valid! I believe we've run around 50 psi of boost in the drag Huracan, not sure off the top of my head in regards to a GT-R but we've seen numbers around 100 psi and even higher 🤯
Something not enough people talk about! The GT-R was more more affordable when it came out, not so much anymore. Especially now that production is coming to an end, they aren't getting any cheaper unfortunately!
I dunno, that GTR stuff seems like a pain. Notice he's got the whole damn front suspension on the table with the engine. Both rad platforms I can't afford though. 😂
V10 for no other reason than sound. But honestly, both platforms need traditional TQ converter autos with single action shifts at the power levels they're throwing down. DSGs are for road racing. They suck for drag.
A great choice! Sure do love the sound of a TT V10. Yes and no, our drag Huracan that runs in the 6s in the quarter still utilizes the factory DCT gearbox, albeit heavily upgraded. Although there are quicker GT-Rs that are running TH400s and similar.
@@AMSPerformance Oh of course it can be done. But that fluid coupling and single-action shifting smooths out the power delivery quite a bit. The engineering cost and time in adapting a TH or similar are probably similar to the extra headache in keeping the dct alive. One big effort vs lots of little over time.
@@ChargedTTq You're not wrong! Although we're more of a "race on Sunday, sell on Monday" type of shop. Not so much on the ALPHA 28 packages, but the lower level packages can still be driven like normal vehicles. We prefer to keep things as stock as we can, considering the context. It could be done, but we would be starting from zero and playing catch up. Maybe if someone dethrones our world record its something we could look into, but until then... 😏
Man i dont care, more air and fuel with enough pressure is more power, i will turbo a 5.0 before i work with anything more than 8 cyl, do yall ever try to work on your own shit? A v6 is allot, a v8 is alot, but a v10 and up, youre gonna give it to the mechanic cause fuck that
Eh, at the end of the day they are all made up of the same moving parts, just a matter of the quantity and arrangement. Everything has its pros and cons. We've worked on them all from 4 cylinders, 6, 8, 10. We understand what you're saying though, thank you for watching and commenting! We appreciate you
Sure the V10 sounds pretty good...but there's something about a V6 being that powerful that draws me in.
We hear you there! That is why we've got love for both!
GT-R still set the fastest trap at the TX2k24.
Lol that's cute
Vr30
lol
lol
Lol no😊
We've got love for the VR30! One of our biggest platforms
@@AMSPerformance that cool?
GTR, because its the least expensive, easiest to maintain, and is less flashy which means you can enjoy it more without unwanted attention.
Very valid reasoning! What about an R8? Flashier than the GT-R but less so than the Huracan
GTR: Legendary best 6-cylinder engine in history, despite being a small engine.
Best 6 cylinder in history? That's quite a statement! Its certainly up there for us!
when you show up with your GTR everybody feels unsafe that's the beauty of the Godzilla
V10. No replacement for displacement, also more cylinders means less cylinder pressure for the same boost levels meaning safer power limits as well.
Except that V6 keep beating the crap out of V10's and V12's at TX2K
EVs have entered the chat 😅
@@siiioxide7807 EV? We don't speak that language here ;) Just kidding, we used to have a shop Model S Plaid! We can respect speed of all flavors!

@@larrywright1286 You've got a point! Although the GT-Rs did get a bit of a head start in development. Good thing we support both platforms!
V-10!
A great choice! With a pair of turbos, or would you leave it stock?
I have to break out my Aussie accent for this..."NISSIN G-DEE-AHHHH!!!"
😂😂 Love it!
Both!
A great answer! Which ALPHA package would you go with for each?
@@AMSPerformance Alpha 15X for the GTR and Alpha 24 for the Huracan.
@@dragonsupra1020 Great choices!
GT-R all the way
A great choice! Which ALPHA package would you go with for your GT-R?
@@AMSPerformance Huh?
I would say GTR when it was 70k but the prices now are just stupid I’d rather have a lambo for the price

I have both but there is still no replacement for displacement. But I do love both platforms
Gtr twin turbo. Id think. Smaller 6s likes turbos
Twin turbos of course! We love twin turbos! Twin turbo all the things!
GT-R
A wonderful choice! Which ALPHA package would you choose to go with your GT-R? 🦖

V10
A great choice! With a pair of turbos, or no?
Don't like any of them but if I had to choose it would be the v10. More torque and torque wins races
Why don't you like either? 🤔 You've got a point though! Torque is how far you take the wall with you!
I dunno, that GTR stuff seems like a pain. Notice he's got the whole damn front suspension on the table with the engine. Both rad platforms I can't afford though. 😂
No pleasure without pain! Or something like that 🤪 I would say both are equal headaches haha but we love em!
472 big block
How about a 317? (The approximate size of the 5.2 V10 in the Huracan/R8)

Oh, and I'd be remiss to neglect bringing up the ability to preload the engine and drivetrain as well, for launch.

That engine looks like it would be a lot of fun if you knew how to work on it. S*** would give me a headache
Ain't that the truth! Lucky for us, we have a team of experts with decades of experience!
I prefer the 2.0L I4 in my Mazda
You're tellin' me you'd prefer that engine over a twin turbo V6 or twin turbo V10? Hmm if you say so, sounds kinda sus... 🫣
