Nah. I don't know about fanfics with real people, but fanfics about fictional characters can be really good. They're usually found on AO3, and they aren't all sexual either. It's sad that fanfic gets such a bad rep because it's associated with cringy teens, but even adults and fully fledged writers partake. Honestly, I've read so many books, but some fanfic writers just have something extremely special about them. Just don't go onto wattpad. You're probably not gonna have a good time because it's associated with a much younger audience.😂

I usually go for angst and dark themes, but I feel like it's a bit too much to recommend. However, I'm glad to give recommendations if you're into a certain fandom, if possible!
Oh, and I feel like this lady deserves so much more recognition, but she's into mostly small fandoms. Just heed the warnings before you dive into anything. Her works are pretty angsty and most have R ratings, but it feels like she leaves a part of her soul into whatever she writes. The depth of her interpretation and the sheer amount of work she puts into her characters is just unrivalled.
