@@rhondamolix-bailey9743 Ma’am, with all due respect this isn’t my post so I wasn’t going to comment. It’s pulling on my spirit though. I understand that you are a devoted member of your organization, but please don’t discourage this young lady from her testimony. At the end of the day God meets people in different places and if this is what God has given to her, then it’s nobody’s job to judge. Not mine or anyone. She didn’t say that anyone had to stop being a Zeta she just said it was not for her. There are practices in these organizations that do not directly reflect God and that’s the moral of the story. Pastors are good but they also have flesh, so if this is what she was lead to do by God then that should be it. Her story is not going to stop anyone’s life or the organization from running. She’s glorying God and not man. I respect your choices as well as hers, but please don’t make her feel any less than for her personal choice because it really isn’t kind to do.
Zeta Mu chater never did any of the things I hear about today. We gave to charities and did fund raisers for March of dimes and the communities. We provided college funding for young girls. Our goal were to give back and exceptified finer womanhood for young ladies. Zeta Mu chapter never had rituals, no black cats ect. we attended church and tried live the life of the Proverbs 31 woman. 34 years ago that was what the Zeta Mu chapter did I"m not sure what this younger generation does today since I'm no longer active (inactive since 1988), but that was who TSU Zeta Mu chapter was in 1984. We never bowed down at any alter, hazed or perforned rituals that I hear about today. I'm sorry for your experience, but mine was a building experience of sisterhood and reflecting Godly love by giving back to others.
We DO NOT have a black cat as our symbol. There is no mention of anything like that in ANY materials associated with our organization. There may be a chapter that made up such a thing but that is not found anywhere in zeta materials or courses.

Different Perspective: You asked why you had to write a letter in order to be removed from an organization where you paid money to be apart of. If you lease a car or an apartment, once you are ready to move onto other housing or another car, you’d have to tell those companies something. You wouldn’t just be able to walk away with nothing said. It’s like being in a contract aka membership, same as with the sorority. It’s just the legal and professional thing to do. Side Note: As a member of almost twenty years, I have NEVER come across any chapters that dealt with a black cat in any way, shape or form. However, I know not every chapter is the same. It’s unusually not that far out there.

It appears that you have found peace. I’m happy for you but, I’m sad that membership in my sorority has caused you so much pain. Despite your dissatisfaction with membership, fraternities and sororities provide service, raise money for scholarships, provide mentorship and many other good things. Zeta symbol is not a black cat. However, I respect everyone's decision to leave any organization that does not sit right in their spirit.

I have never heard of Zeta being associated with a black cat. I have spoken with Zetas 30 or more years strong and never had they ever said anything about a black cat. Where did you get that

Your not the first sorority member I’ve heard say this. I’m thankful for those who chose God and came forth to warn people who are looking to become members of a sorority and etc. so thank you for using your voice and please continue to inform people especially religious people of this who doesn’t yet know.
Hmm, it sounds like you joined just to join. You don’t sound solid in your history and even in church you mentioned being half sleep. I’m no Zeta, but I’m in a Black Greek sorority and I’ve only seen Zetas with the doves. Never seen them with a black cat.
That’s because our real/national symbol is a dove, lol. Not sure where the black cats came from, but the kitty is not official.

My biological sister and I, both, crossed Sigma Mu (2001 & 2004). We enjoyed every moment of our entire experience. Everything was balanced, safe, and nothing was Satanic or screamed any form of idolatry. What I've heard and/or read pertaining to this video does not coincide with our experiences. Hello. Thank you for your journey and testimony. I never joined a sorority in college. I thought about it but didn’t. I have some family members who are Greek in my family. My mom is a Zeta and pledge at Grambling State University . she pledge in the late 60’s. She said back then sororities were more about community service and helping people. She did also say it can help you with jobs , etc. I use to ask her about the pledging and what she had to do to be a member ……To this day she still want say …… I guess taking the oath/ pledge is REAL…..why all the secrecy . Long story short my mom never suggested or force me to join a sorority. I think to this day …. my mom didn’t understand the totality of what it means to join
People will not understand why you have to publicly denounce once you realize the oath you took was putting you in a covenant with a devil and to be free you have to expiate your offense that is to correct the offense (Leviticus 5:4) All praises to the Most High for your obedience and the sacrifice in exposing yourself for Gods glory. I met a lady from the Essence festival yesterday, and she was one. And she was loud, proud, large & in charge. She was kinda scary. Also, I watched a documentary a long time ago about a black sisters sorority. It was somewhere in the northeast. Anyway, when these young ladies were in the phase of being chosen in the very beginning, they were so optimistic & trusting. These older ladies had gotten them so exhausted, and made them drive early in morning one day on way to event. They so wanted to be in this sorority. Anyway, they ended up getting in a bad wreck because the driver fell asleep at the well. Some were killed. There’s a lady who wrote a book in an effort to expose this mason auxiliary. It’s essentially the masons, but a ladies sect. The men & women work in tandem to do the devils work. Any president who doesn’t go along with the program, they get assassinated. I am very sorry for your experience. Unfortunately, different chapters behave differently in the intake process. I am thanking God that this is being corrected as we speak….As a proud & strong God fearing Christian and a proud Zeta (30+ years), I am seriously thanking God that I never had to kneel at any alter (and nor did any of our aspirants that we’ve brought in over the years). Nor did I or any aspirant have to
‘pledge their soul’ to anything.
BTW….Black cats do not represent the sorority.😅

I'm so here for this video, I just felt extremely called to share my experience as well even though I denounced years ago, and at that point I was mentally prepared to die or come up missing for speaking out. Ppl will remain blind and I forgive their ignorance. It doesn't even have to be about God, what about basic human standards smh. It took me YEARS to speak to family/friends about my choice because the evil spirits that be wanted me to remain hushed. Nothing about God in these organizations, Satan disguise as an angel of light. I'm tired of ppl saying but they do cOmMuNity ServIcee & NeTwoRkinggg.

It really sounds as if you were “searching” for something. Belonging is a basic need. When I see belonging, I mean having a group of people that you have a connection with. It appears that you possibly needed support and a path to find yourself before joining anything. I am a member of s sorority and I have never felt conflicted in my spiritual connection. A sorority may not be for you because you began the process not sure of yourself and your purpose; whereas someone else is able to look at it as a sisterhood - separately. They started the process more balanced. Service is a spiritual process within itself. It is not for you but does not mean that it cannot be beneficial to others. Your definition of ruler does not make sense. Every group needs leadership. Leadership guides and nurtured the group to its purpose. Be safe in your journey. Possibly get counseling . I think you are still searching. Be sure that you are not going to one extreme to the other. Choose happiness and satisfaction for yourself- we are all different and interpret our spiritual growth differently.

It seems like your foundation was shaky from jump. You can't join an organization on the fence and use God as your justification to run out. You wouldn't lose anything because you were never truly invested. You seem to have been looking for a way out from the very beginning. And your Soror wasn't threatening you, she was telling you to prepare for the backlash of denouncing your org that believed and invested time into you. But with that said, I am glad you found your calling. God bless.
It was her Godly intuition that she felt about joining in the first place. She didn't realize it at the time. We all make impulsive decisions at given points in our lives. She didn't seek God beforehand but afterwards He lovingly intervened to help her get out. He won't leave you in your bad decisions if you're truly repentant.

Okay, your choice is your choice. I get that you had doubts from the beginning. You are still young and sometimes learning to trust yourself is a process.
In college I pledged Greek and a service organization. I eventually withdrew my membership from the service organization because I have a low tolerance for unnecessary politics. I withdrew quietly and kept it moving because my focus has always been about being the best me possible. Denouncing, in my opinion, sounds like you want attention and drama, but to each his/her own.
I wanted to point out:
1) Zeta does not claim a black cat. You were either misinformed or reaching on that one.
2) The headquarters’ request for a letter was for legal documentation to remove your membership.
3) I think this experience was more of a lesson to trust yourself and to listen when the spirit is speaking to you. When you don’t listen, you feel the weight, and sometimes a slap to wake you up. I personally try to focus on listening as the slap hurts.
4) The organizations are about encouraging networking, support and camaraderie. Picking it apart is essentially a waste of energy like buying literally into the divisive nature of the competition between the organizations. I, personally, pushed that we greeted all as fellow black Greeks; to demonstrate a support for the freedom of choice and the inherent respect we should have for all.
Hi thank you for your respectful response. You stated that making a denouncing video comes off as attention seeking. One can argue that so is having a probate or showcasing that you have just become a member. What’s the difference? I find it interesting that people have to be quiet about denouncing, but not about actually becoming a member.
Also you stated something that is true, that was a time of me finding myself; however, it doesn’t change my stance. Greek letter organization branch off from free masonry. It’s not of God, so I shall not be tied to it.
You also stated that Zeta is not represented by a black cat. Whether the cat is black, orange, red, or whatever color my point still stands.
I also find it interesting that we people who don’t agree with denouncing never have an argument towards the scripture that thrown out. Out of everything I said you took away me wanting attention and something about a black cat.

It was not unusual to hear that lines crossed after the fact. I was on one of those lines. Your arguments makes assumptions.
I am not trying to attack you like I’m a diehard fanatical Greek. I haven’t been active or worn paraphernalia in many years.
I am about growth and self-improvement. That’s where I prefer to channel my energy.
However, your denouncement comes off like an attack, like you were led astray. Yet it was, by your words, essentially a bad choice for you that you willingly made. Part of growing to trust yourself (listening to that inner voice that I believe is actually God) is taking ownership when you fail to do so.

I don't understand why people feel the need to make videos explaining why they denounced an org. Just denounce and move on. There would be less of this if people understood how to properly exegese and eiseges scripture. People don't pray about these things prior to joining but then all of a sudden God speaks to you and tells you to leave. Lastly, you need to give away all Zeta materials to another member. You better hope they don't sue you for revealing that info. Secret or not, it isn't your intellectual property to share.

Making a denouncement video is no different from doing a probate to showcase getting into the organization. So why should someone who decides to denounce be quiet? God speaks to people after a lot of decisions that they make in life not just decisions pertaining to Greek life. Lastly, if they sue, they’ll have so many others to sue as well. The reason why it’s a conflict for Christians to join Greek Mythology organizations on college is because Christianity is rooted in Roman Catholic culture. It came from that. And Greek mythology was the opposing religion. The opposing doctrine. Remember those two civilizations was at war trying to spread their religion and indoctrination slaves to conquer land create new and take over civilizations under those two regimes and take over the world. That’s why there is a conflict for Christians joining geek clubs in college. It’s because the Greeks and Romans which are you Christian’s, Jews, etc. They were opposing religions waring against each other to conquer lands in early periods of civilizations. Basically both Greeks and Roman’s were always fighting to take over the world. That’s the reason. That’s why Christianity writes in the Bible against Greek mythology. And Greeks write against the Roman’s which will become the Christians and Christianity later on. Check it out. But that’s what’s it’s about.
But it doesn’t matter if you join a Greek club or not. Your not doing nothing wrong regardless of your decision. Just think of this like Russia and America capitalism and communism having different beliefs but it’s not wrong to be part of any of those nations even though both America and Russia will tell everyone that each country is the enemy. This decision is not disobeying God one bit. These are religious people using their doctrine dictate what people should follow and do. It’s just a power struggle between the two like Russia and America and who system is better. Capitalism and Communism. Greek and Roman’s is just a power struggle. America follows more Roman ways that’s why Christianity is so dominant in America. Just look at it as a power struggle between the two. Joining or removing yourself from a Greek Organization won’t matter as much. It’s all up to you.
Removing religion, what I don't get is why join something that doesn't represent you? Your history? Your genetics even? Are you Greek? Are you Roman? We don't see the Greeks, Persians, or any other meditation sub group creating African themed brotherhood or sisterhoods So why are we doing it?

Very encouraging that God is showing the same thing to people who's *Lord* is Jesus because Jesus said His sheep hear His voice. People who can't hear is lead by someone else or something else. God was showing me recently when I was considering to pledge how *God blocked it because it was demonic* . I never got that from a sermon or anyone else.
Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:13, "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are *many* who take it." The majority of people will follow a way, outside of Jesus' way that leads to hell. To *go to heaven* we don't want to follow what most people do. Again Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:22-25, *Many will say to Me on that day* , ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ "
Jesus warns us to be set apart from the many, and those "many" will not enter the kingdom of God (heaven). Never let *ANYONE* or *ANYTHING* get in the way of God's MAXIMUM will for you on earth or in heaven.

@@rodriunnalashelle I didn't want to cross, I didn't feel peace, I had no reason to join, just next thing to do. On my crossing day April 15, 2003 I was actually late to my ceremony. Sat in the car 2 blocks down the street thinking and praying and went anyway due to sense of obligation since I had went through all the steps.. I totally understand your point and I'm on my own journey
