Ok so don’t get it twisted the song is dope and I kno he is exercising lyrically and experimenting with different beats and mix but the switch was wat had me a lil off. First verse was fire I love when Nate is talking his ish…. Let the discussion begin down ⬇️
I felt the same it first listen. Definitely grew on me over time. And I actually like the second verse vs the first.
To be honest I never really thought too deeply about it but since you mentioned it it is a switch up in every aspect considering the first verse to the second.
What comes to mind is that the point of the confident shit talking Nate stems from the dark insecure problem Nate. I mean you could never get the braggy Nate if he never went through the dark phase. So it's his foundation or path to that version you say in the first verse. It's flipped of course but that's just my initial thoughts though.

My man rocking the NIner gear! You know this one is going to compete for your number 1. I have settled on That's A Joke still but a while this one did take over my number one spot. Of course....now that I am hearing it again...I am getting weak...that part about getting off the porch...man...all right.. it is a tie! Sorry Ace.
