  • Twin-turret ATC multitasking machine with tool spindle
The JX-250 is a state-of-the-art ATC multitasking machine equipped with the compact tool spindle "NT Smart Cube" with a total length of 349.1 mm. The machine is equipped with a compact tool spindle of the latest design on the upper side and a 12 square 24-station turret with milling and Y-axis as standard equipment on the lower side in an opposed twin-spindle structure. Two (L/R) or one (R) lower tool rest can be selected.
The distance between spindle end faces is as wide as 1,300 mm, and the compact tool spindle and crossover stroke function (for twin turret specifications) provide a large machining area.
The specifications of the tool spindle are as follows: motor output 22/15 kW, 12,000 rpm, and 18,000 rpm optionally available. The standard tool shank type is CAPTO C6. HSK-A63 can be selected as an option. The standard tool storage capacity is 40 tools, with options for 80 and 120 tools. B-axis indexing angle is ±120°, with a minimum command unit of 0.001°. The Y-axis stroke is ±125mm. The lower turret is equipped with a 12-corner, 24-station high-rigidity turret. The milling motor output is 5.5/3.7kW, 24N-m, rotation speed is 6,000rpm, and Y-axis stroke is ±40mm.
NT-Smart X, the latest control unit developed to make it easy, fast, and accurate for everyone, is provided as standard. The IoT software "NT Smart Sign" and the AI-based thermal displacement compensation system "NT Thermo Navigator AI" will be newly installed.
    Main specifications
    Bar capacity Φ65mm, (op. Φ71mm, 80mm)
Max. machining diameter Φ320mm, chuck size 8"
Spindle speed 4,500 rpm (at bar capacity Φ65, 71mm) 3,500 rpm (at bar capacity Φ80mm)
Y-axis stroke: tool axis ±125mm, lower tool rest ±40mm
Main spindle electric motor 15/11kW (op.18.5/15:L)
Upper turret: tool spindle electric motor 22/15 kW, 12,000 rpm (op. 20,000 rpm)

I love it. It's like watching the Metal Gear Solid of machine tools.

May I ask how do you use the lower turret as a tailstock? I get with a live quill but not sure when yoi feeding in how you set the pressure to hold it?

      Thank you for your comment.
We are not using any special items. We have a commercially available rotation center attached to one of the lower turret stations (Boring holder + sleeve + rotation sensor).
The pushing force (thrust) is controlled by the Z-axis servo motor. A unique Quill pusher G-code (that is Nakamura-Tome's original) is available to command the thrust force as a numerical value and keep it there.

@@nakamuratome_global i assume the Super NTJX is capable to do as well? Should I found that quill pusser G Code in the manual then? Could not find it first

@@Robert-mz7yr Yes, Super NTJX is able to attach a rotation center on the turret as well as JX-250. G-codes are noted not in the programming manual but in the NT Work Navigator manual of NT Nurse. The code is G376 and G377.
