  • 2006 Volvo s40 2.4i Bank 1 sensor 1 replacement how to. Volvo engine trouble code p0031. B1S1 replacement.
you will need a Deep-well/ atleast 3inch deep o2 sensor socket is 7/8 or 22mm in a 3/8 drive. for b1s1 part on 2006 Volvo s40 2.4i the part number is # 234-9150 on AMAZON for the UPSTREAM o2 sensor.
also, remember to check the Fuse F33 under the engine hood before repair to ensure the fuse is not burnt out and The repair is not needed. as well if the o2 sensor not working after the repair ENSURE you Push the o2 sensor wire connector ALL THE WAY SEATED until you hear or feel a ( CLICK ) if it is not seated fully you will not get any B1S1 reading on o2 sensor with Vehicle scanner tool.

Hey so I’m having trouble with a 2006 Volvo s40 2.4i and I’m getting p0171 with p420 and the p0171 could be a bad oxygen sensor but it could be MAF sensor as well. What are your thoughts?

  • @fortnitebattleroyale2933

    Mine won’t come out

Please help! I've been scouring the internet looking for a model similar to mine, I have a 2005 volvo S40 2.4i. Do you know how to remove the MAF sensor? It's so close to the battery, I don't know how to get to it.

Sorry for the very late reply. The MAF is under the intake. You will see a black sensor. Follow the tube from your intake box.

    I have a 2009 Volvo S40 2.4I with a P0171
I did look at the fuse in that location... which was 20A and it looked fine.
I plan on ordering a Sensor..
Some sellers say it is for Upstream or Downstream.
A Part Number that I've seen commonly is the 234-4734 - which says it's for my car..
But I find the "Fitment Charts" are very Unreliable.
Just curious to know if everything has been working OK, and the Code has not re-appeared?

Sorry for the late reply. I had that same code last year. I had a Bad PCV valve. And had to replace the oil filter housing. Came in 1 whole piece. That is about an 1 hour job. You have to use the factory screws to tap the new unit.

Also btw my fuse looked fine too until I tested the fuse. It was blown as well

I beleive the s40's have 2 different engine codes.
My engine Code is B5244S4- but some are B5244S7.
Are you able to confirm which engine code yours is?
Some sellers say this part 234-9150 does not fit my car.
