I’m just so impressed with Rich, the extent to which he understands that Grey and your pregnancy are equally his responsibility. I wish all men were like that, my ex husband certainly wasn’t!

Kinda sad that we have to ''applaud'' men for doing what they should do and what (most of) women do naturally everyday for years.

Bessie Stone we both loved this comment, thanks. I agree with the below that it’s annoying men get so much praise when they do care, like “he’s so good with her” or “daddy day care” which is just a ridiculous saying BUT we’ve gotta start somewhere and I think people talking more about dads being more involved is always a positive. He’s really passionate about it now and has convinced many of our friends to get more involved with hypno birthing etc and not leaving it all to the woman. I’m very proud of him 😌

Lily Pebbles couldn’t agree more with you and with M’s comment above. We shouldn’t be praising, it should be totally normal. In my experience it isn’t, but I hope I’m in the minority, particularly these days.

I would love if you could do a collab video with Fleur, now you both are mothers! You are both so mature and down to earth and I would love to see a discussion between you about becoming a mother, and how it affects you as a woman, how it affects your job and generally your view on things and priorities!

I'd love you and Anna to do a collaboration of how to be supportive of each other when one of you has had a baby, but the other is happy in their choice not to at that point. I'm not interested in having kids at the moment, but I love my friends who have and it can be hard how it can change relationships after. It'd be great to hear practical tips about how both sides can make it work.

How about a what to expect after c-section video? My first was a c-section and I had no clue what to expect. No body told me anything.. which is surprising. And I know every c-section is different but maybe touch on afterwards and how you controlled the pain, recovery and postpartum contractions 😣 how your scar is healing, any tips on clothing to wear and underpants you used. I just feel like c-sections are more common, but still not being talked about and I would have loved to watch a few videos just as a heads up.

PLEASE READ IF YOU’RE FEELING OVERWHELMED. Just a little tip for any first time Mums feeling overwhelmed by the amount of things to take to hospital. It’s a great idea having a pre and post labour bag and a separate on for baby. You can buy big duffel bags with two sides rather than taking two separate ones. Take photos of EVERYTHING you THINK you will need and have them in a room in your house in sight. Take the basics to hospital (LED lights lol) and if you need anything from home, send a photo of it to someone with a key and ask them to get it to you. As much as women want to feel at home in hospital, the rooms / wards simply aren’t big enough for each woman to take this much stuff in with them. Midwives will work around you but it makes their jobs difficult having to clamber over luggage all the time. You will not feel disappointed if you didn’t get to light a candle or have a diffuser with scents spray the room. I don’t mean that to sound judgmental at all and we want our birth to feel perfect and magical but this isn’t prom night. Birth is magical and wonderful and in years down the line you will not remember the led lights or special sprays. You will remember the joy of seeing your baby for the first time. Make that the focus. Basics for clothes and toiletries. Hospitals have pads and disposable knickers and sick bags and birthing balls. If you want your own particular brand after birth, someone can get it for you afterwards.

This is by far the best What's In My Hospital Bag video. it is very realistic, minimal, but also with options. not too crazy, but there are bits you could use if you wanted to. the thing is, you never know what kind of birth scenario you'll have. you might be in there for days, and you might want the essential oils afterwards, for example. I don't find it is hilarious to be mindful and wanting to have nice surroundings when in labour. if it makes the experience that much easier, just pack it. a very nice notice from you was that the birth partner should know what's were and why and when to use, without asking. if they don't know you likely won't even open the bag, because I can imagine that you just don't have the mental capacity to even think about such things.
I created a playlist for myself and added this video there. I'm not pregnant, but we're planning to. I had a miscarriage in april and I'm not ready yet. I feel very anxious right now, so I'm trying to prepare myself with knowledge.

I love how different people are! With both my kids all I took was car seat, nappies, onesies/pjs for them and a blanket. For me, pads (down there and bra) clean underwear and sports bra, make up and an outfit to wear home. First born in the pool, second laboured in water but birthed out. I personally could not be bothered to take all of that ...

I feel like I can relate to this soooo much!! By the time I was there I didn’t care about the room, I just focussed on getting my baby out. I had taken disposable pants and pads which ended up being rubbish, but then switched to the Tenna pants when I got home (I sent my partner for them) and they’ve been amazing!! The one thing I’m really glad I took was energy tables - they kept me going throughout as I wasn’t always drinking that much lucozade sport. 🙌

RE LED lights! I 100% loved them! I'd done all hypnobirthing prep but ended up having heavy bleed at 36 weeks and was in hospital for 4 days then had a section. In the days leading up to the section and when I didnt really know what was going to happen, these weirdly made such a difference - my hubs dotted them around the room and it made it so much more homely as we were there a week. I also used them in our bedroom in the early days as it is a good level of light for night feeds but not blinding or disruptive to sleep

When I had my daughter I packed a huge bag. Even a CD player ( this was 20 years ago 😂) I packed a lot of stuff and found out I needed almost nothing. All I needed was my toiletries , my dressing gown and my flip flops and the going home outfit for my baby and the car seat😂😂
I was induced and had strong contractions for 36 hours and didn’t care about anything. Everything else the hospital gave me. Cold cloths for my for-head during labor.
During labor I was so hot that I was completely naked. The hospital provided a starter pack for the baby with wet wipes, diapers, lotions and the rest of what the baby needed. They had clothes the baby were supposed to wear while in hospital ( with the hospital name on for safety) and blankets . For me they provided all the shower stuff and sanitary pads and wipes .
During labor I was so ill, I didn’t care about anything but getting the baby out.. the music, lighting and make up all seemed just ridiculous ..
She was born in the evening and we went home the next day , my milk hadn’t even come in yet so I didn’t even need a nursing bra. Jumped in my track suit I came in in and dressed her in the beautiful home-knitted by grandma going home outfit , put her in the car seat and went home.
Your really don’t need a lot of stuff, it’s a total waste!

I’m guessing you didn’t give birth in an NHS hospital in the UK? Here they give you nothing. No “baby starter pack”. No shower stuff or maternity pads. Maybe something to bare in mind when offering advice. No all hospitals are the same and in the UK we are told we have to bring everything Mum and baby will need. Everything.

some maternity units dont allow clary sage oil as it can obviously effect other mums (maybe pre-term) or pregnant midwives. its fine for at home though! x

Love seeing a new video of you popping up. Even if I don't want children, I happily click your videos as soon as I see them. I just enjoy listening to you. And seeing you of course. But your voice has such a calming effect on me.

Can’t believe how you kept saying how hot the hospital was, in the U.S. hospitals are consistently FREEZING. Like the entire building is refrigerated 🥶😂
