    INCREDIBLE JOB OF MODERNIZING YOUR TOWNHOUSE. I have done about a half dozen in Pattaya over the past decade, sometimes from ground up, and it is always a headache, but looks great when you are finished.

    Nice, I always wanted to get a townhouse, but I always wondered about the noise insulation between neibors because it always seems its not really build for noise avoidance.

    • @DeanBKK
      @DeanBKK  Před 4 hodinami +1

      Thank you. Fortunately, these older townhomes are built with strong, thick concrete and the dividing walls between units offer excellent sound proofing. I rarely here anything on the opposite sides.

      @@DeanBKK ah nice, seems like in thailand and specifically in Bangkok the rule is to go for older buildings. I live in an older and cheaper condo as well and I never hear any sound from any side. While before I've lived in a newer more expensive condo and noise was insane. Keep em coming

    looks great. the layout is really improved. you changed the stairs too? how did you find contractor for renovations and how did you project manage the work? did you buy parts and just pay for labor, or did they arrange it all for you?

    • @DeanBKK
      @DeanBKK  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you. The stairs are in the same location, we just knocked down part of the wall on the sides (so now it's more open). I found the contractor through a referral from a friend. The contractor managed it based on my ideas of what I wanted done. I bought most things individually except for paint and flooring.

    Amazing Transformation! Your house looks beautiful already. Regarding the second floor bathroom, does it automatically lock one door if the other door is open? Or just have to knock before getting into the bathroom?
    You look much younger to be retired. I am curious what you do (job) in Thailand. And do you speak Thai?

    • @DeanBKK
      @DeanBKK  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you! The 2nd floor bathroom is not automatic so I'll have to knock if I have someone over (I currently live alone). I will also install a hook latch door lock on both sides of each sliding door. I'm not retired and yes I do speak Thai. 🙂

    • @DeanBKK
      @DeanBKK  Před 2 lety

      Hello, foreigners are not allowed to buy a house or a townhouse. Foreigners can only buy a condo unit. And with a budget of 1.5mb, you will probably only find studio room condos or 1BR condos not bigger than 30 sq. meters which is tiny.

      Did you do anything in terms of sound deadening to the walls?

    • @DeanBKK
      @DeanBKK  Před 2 lety

      @@trenchtown69 no issues on the interior since it's really thick concrete separating the houses. It's only the garage area that isn't fully sealed off from the outdoor elements, so when they're hanging out in their garage, it can be a bit bothersome.
