The son of an actor, gospel singer Oden Fong had spent his childhood amist the flamboyance of the Hollywood glitterati, and it was in this environment that the seeds of his faith were sewn. He first rose to prominence as lead vocalist and songwriter with the highly-regarded Christian rock group, Mustard Seed Faith. A definite streak of evangelism has been sustained through his work as a member of the group and in his solo pursuits ever since. For his debut solo effort, Come For The Children, Fong employed a number of musical styles on songs which emphasized this didactic, almost hectoring quality.

He was way ahead of his time with these lyrics: If feelings are your guide, the truth is what you feel inside. If feelings are what's true you can justify the things you do. Isn't that the prevailing philosophy now a days?

I feel the same way. As a Jesus Freak after my Hippie experience I have lived the many different ways of looking for a better understanding of Jesus. The Album Come For The Children by Oden Fong was back when you had a love gift for the musician and then a speaker to present Christ to people at the concert. Now it seems many of them have gone the way of the Thieves at the temple turning everything towards their own want for money.

One of my favorite Christian rock records when I was a new believer. Unlike so much of the Christian music of the day, Oden's music was intelligent, and not overproduced sappy drivel. Thanks for the upload.

Sorry to hear you go. I have friends that left the faith.

@@holygeneration7 I guess I might have a wide spectrum of Christian friends. If you look at scripture in the new testament there are those that departed for the things of the age/world. I wish I never knew so many that have left. One might argue they must not have been a true believer. I say on the contrary that scripture states there will be a great falling away. Hence, they fell from something. All sorts of warnings to remain in the vine, to not thread upon the grace of our Lord. And then we have the 10 virgins, all clean at one point, 5 remain keeping oil (relationship connected,) with the Lord by Holy Spirit.

'Hectoring.' Okay. Well, if preaching the Good News of Eternal Life is hectoring, then we should hector away.
