@@Dude09342 absolutely. Belal should be fighting for title next but it’s not that simple. In a perfect World, #1 would fight the champion, #2 would fight #3 and so on. Usman’s #1 but lost twice to Leon, Colby’s #2 and doesn’t have a fight.
Khamzat’s #3 and hasn’t fought anyone but burns in the top 10 and missed weight by 8lbs in his last welterweight bout. Shavkat hasn’t fought anyone but Geoff Neal in the top 10 and just fought 2 weeks ago.
Burns is #5 but he’s fighting Masvidal in a couple weeks.
Belal is #4 and he’s on a massive win streak over top contenders and he doesn’t have a fight lined up (unless they are actually matching him up with Shavkat). He deserves it.
The next best thing is Colby.
Belal, Leon, Usman, Colby, Burns, Shavkat, Alex, Nunes, Valentina, Charles, Moreno, Grasso, Zhang, Rose, Alex, Izzy, Islam, Brady, Wonderboy, JJ, Ngannou, Stipe, DC, Derek,... they ALL are "boring" fighters.
There are less than half a dozen UFC fighters who are/were decent to "big draws": Masvidal, Nate, Conor, & Khabib.
If it's one time or two time thing, like it happened ages ago during the very early history of MMA, where it was still more of a circus... where people wanted to see two chicks like Rousey and Nunes "pulling hair," yeah...
But consistent draws over many fights over a few years.... no more than a handful, at best. And, again, Colby is NOT among them, the BS spewed by him and his adoring 4 year-old fans notwithstanding.

Covington is the better fight and it isn't close. Muhammed had a NC fight with Leon and Leon was having his way with him. Covington fought in two wars with prime Usman and both fights were as close as it can physically be. Then he went on the manhandle Masvidal. Anyone that watches MMA knows he would handle Belal if they fought as well and he probably will eventually.

There are many times where I saw Belal lose the first round and then come back. One round of eye poking doesn't change much.

old Demian Maia and LW RDA, both wins by decision. Colby calls out LWs while refusing to fight any of the numerous top WWs who called him out repeatedly. If he wins the title from Leon, probably the best matchup for Colby in top five, would he even defend the title against deserving contenders like Belal and Shavkat(after another big win) or push to fight Usman a third time since he is coming off a two fight skid?
