Norfolk Southern Train Hits Classic Pickup Truck at Nemo, Tennessee

- On the afternoon of March 6th, 2022, Norfolk Southern manifest freight train 123 struck a classic 1967 GMC Pickup Truck at Nemo, Tennessee.
I was accompanied by my wife, our dog, and my good friend Gabe who was our local guide for the day. Within 3 minutes after setting up at the bridge, I started filming these scenes for my personal files to remember the people I was spending the day with. While recording, a blue 1960s vintage GMC pickup truck was approaching in the distance. It appeared the driver was lost while trying to find the trail that led to the riverfront.
Not realizing where he was, the driver attempted to turn his truck around. While doing so, the truck died and the driver hopped out to check his battery cable. The front of the truck was directly over the railhead so we offered to help the man restart his truck. He declined and said it was just his cable, so we stayed where we were on the opposite side of the track.
Instead of simply putting the truck in neutral and letting it back down the hill, he decided to work on the truck with the bumper overtop the railhead. This proved to be a poor decision because, within seconds of our short conversation, we heard the rail starting to pop. It was a train - and the truck was in the worst possible position.
Focused on saving his truck, the man asked us to help him but none of us were willing to risk our lives with a train fast approaching us. His wife was still in the vehicle and did not realize there was a train approaching so Gabe yelled to advise her to move. All of what you’re about to see happened within 3 minutes.
Thankfully, the woman got out of the truck just in time. If we weren’t there, she may have lost her life or been seriously injured. My wife did not realize that she had gotten out of the truck - so she was naturally concerned about her safety.
According to the Department of Transportation, there are about 5,800 train vs. car crashes each year in the United States, most of which occur at railroad crossings. These accidents cause 600 deaths and injure about 2,300 people. Most of these accidents could be avoided if motorists simply obeyed the law. Always remember to STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN.

Even harder for me to wrap my head around is that accidents like this apparently happen almost 6000 times a year. That's more than 15 a day.
It looks like the truck owner married into the right side of the woman's family while the truck owners wife married into the wrong side of his family.....IOW - she had enough sense to get out of the truck and run away while he just stood there holding the trucks hand (in a sense) as if it would prevent the truck from being hit.He done 5 stupid things in a matter of minutes.1- he went up the wrong trail 2- he didn't just let it roll back away from tracks a few feet 3- he had the battery cable installed/tightened incorrectly,. 4- he denied help when it was first offered while still safe for the bystanders 5- he held the trucks hand way longer than he should have. If it would have been a restored, like new truck, it's loss would've been something worth crying about, but not this one.
I would call this "Owner destroys his truck."
This accident was incredibly needless, the truck could've been put into neutral gear and rolled off the ballast but instead it was left there. The owner didn't deserve such a classy truck.
Well, I wonder if this chap actually deserves to be allowed to drive at all. He was definitely at the back of the queue when they were giving out common sense!
'Logical concepts' do come hard to some people, even if the solution is blatantly obvious.
The truck was put in neutral and an attempt was made to push it away from the tracks. Maybe instead of filming a train hitting a truck, some assistance could have been offered to help push the truck. People online are so quick to bash others without knowing anything about what happened.
@@jonlee494 The assistance was offered when it was safe to do so, before they knew the train was coming. The owner only asked for help when the train was in view, and obviously nobody is going to risk their life for a stranger's car.

I know that was idiotic. Even to stand there without holding on would be. Im thinking maybe he was in total shock at that moment, and unable to think straight, and react??
@Terry Thomas the driver's ability to think straight was obviously turned off when he got on those tracks!

Now they are closing Nemo tunnel down because the guy is suing the railroad. How can you file a lawsuit when it was you on private property in the wrong place. Idiots have ruined everything for majority of the people in the area.
What did the RR do wrong?? Not posting a railroad crossing sign at a path in the woods?? The RR should sue the idiot who caused this mess. They delayed that shipment and were trespassing, being on the tracks

Not only did the driver exercise poor judgment in leaving his truck where it was, it looked like he also stood there holding onto the door as the train hit his truck instead of running away. This man's weakness is obviously his common sense. Glad they're okay.

I would say it was probably shock - His brain and his fight or flight were in a disconnect, like seeing a PC or a laptop go into a boot loop when something is really wrong
I was surprised his arm wasn't ripped off when the train impacted the vehicle.
He must have let go of the door just scant seconds before that impact.
Talk about luck, that was very lucky his arm, or the rest of him didn't end up in pieces!

I’m a railroader and off-roader, it’s disappointing this trail was closed as a result of this poor decision. I wanted to hit this trail one day.
It only takes one idiot to ruin it for everyone else. We've done some ridiculous things in the name of safety at my workplace because one idiot did something stupid. I don't live clos to there but it looks like it would have been a fun trail. It appears it wasn't really mean for trucks either, as he didn't have room to turn around. If he had been in a smaller vehicle, he would have had room to turn around.

It doesn't make sense for the trail to be closed, this could have happened anywhere, you might as well close the whole country. There was nothing wrong with the trail, but if someone is stupid enough. they can always find a way to cause an accident.
The really dumb thing is that there were enough people there that if they all jumped up right away, they could have safely got the truck away from the tracks. Instead, they were indecisive and did the millennial thing of taking out their cell phones and filming it.

This is one thing I have luckily never encountered in almost 30 years of railfanning. It is baffling how one would not just put it in neutral and back away.

The wife was smart enough to run away while he just held on to the door like he was gonna keep it from flying down the ditch.

Not many people would see it this way,but the guy was looking to get a claim from Railroad for this truck. Even in crossing accidents that are clearly the drivers fault, the Railroad will pay a claim for damages. He could easily moved at any time, only one foot would have cleared the locomotive,widest part of train. Thanks for posting this on CZcams, this guy doesn’t deserve a dime!!! After 38 years on Railroad, we have seen it all!!!
Ive actually been to this tunnel many times with my dad and its so awesome that I got this vid in my recommended.
Man, that sucks! I've been in a similar situation myself. We had 14k tons of rock and were going down a hill with dynamics holding the speed at 40 mph on a generous grade. We noticed some dude with his shirt off, waving it frantically in the air and so I took 20 lbs on the train to try to slow down. As we approached the curve, there was his pickup truck and flatbed trailer, hung up over the tracks. We are talking 300-400 yards so there's no way we are going to get stopped now. I plugged it and just watched as we tore through his truck and trailer. It launched his truck into the trees and completely obliterated his trailer. All that was left were the splinters that were the floorboards, and a couple axles up in a tree. When I finally got stopped, my conductor went back and checked on the guys who were apparently in the truck when they got hung up. The driver who was waving his shirt asked the conductor, "Why didn't you guys stop, didn't you see me?" Ha! Oh but the worst part of it all was the airhead dispatcher that couldn't understand there was no road where this guy was at so I could not give a crossing ID, only a Milepost. He kept saying, "Please check your location again because the Milepost you gave me is not at a crossing!"
Once everything was cleared and we were released to go, I had a terrible time trying to recover my air without sending my train sailing down the hill. I ended up having to ask my conductor to set about 30 handbrakes just so that I could pump my air back up. All in all it was a terrible day. I can't imagine these guys having it much easier, though with these mixed freights lately spanning 12,000 ft or more, I cringe at the thought of trying to get that train moving and under control after a sudden unexpected stop like that.

That situation was completely preventable. I’m glad no one was hurt, but you’d think a person who’s put that much work into a classic pickup would have enough sense to move it out of danger first.

You'd think so! Although nowadays somebody with cash can just buy one of these without having put any work of their own into them. Nothing wrong with that. But I have seen nice classics killed by folks who just bought it and didn't treat the cars like classics.. As for me I restored my '65 C10 myself and I would never put it in such a situation as this. God forbid.
I go to Nemo all the time to watch trains. This incident has put the nail in the coffin and Nemo will be gated off. Thanks a lot

The independent (locomotive) brake pistons weren't out when the head end went by.... I remember a friend from the 1960s saying that he used the brakes 'after the impact'. If there's no chance of a stop before impact, it would be stupid to surrender your train to the uncontrolled forces of an emergency application when it was on a bridge and in a tunnel like that. I think it’s standard practice now to apply emergency brakes in the case of a collision. If brakes are not applied, then it leaves the railroad open to a negligence lawsuit. Just basically covering themselves in case some idiot takes them to court.
My gosh, to even be warned by you and still the GMC owner keeps his truck directly in the right of way when a simple placement into neutral and gravity will roll the truck back safely. That had to have been a heck of a hit to send it down the hill like that, on it's roof. And yes, likely she's totaled out. Such a worthless, needless accident and loss of a classic GMC pickup. Great work, Drayton & Mrs Drayton, with hopes you never have to be witness to something like that again!
once both front wheels are on the inside of the rail, the vehicle is screwed. that is, unless someone has the sense to call the number on the nearest crossing...keep ur local crossings fon in your contacts, you know if you cross a few on ur way home know the number of the crossing. (joke: it might look like BR549OU812IT10T / MickeyMouse "ohhellthere's a problem" kinda thing. that number CAN STOP A TRAIN IF, IF when you see/ 1. signal not functioning 2. car, truck, damsel in distress tied to the track by Sidney Whiplash. 3. trains with blacked out lead unit and not whistles where trains normally blow. (4AM eastbound Coal Drag that ALWAYS pisses u off for wakin' ya up.) 4. Trains are Important to our county. Actually it was just a glancing blow. If you look at the front end of the upside down truck at the bottom, there isn't terrible damage from the actual impact. The damage came from the instantly released kinetic energy from the speed and weight of the train sending the relatively little truck flying off the hill. It looked like the truck took out a couple of trees on the way down. They say a vehicle hit by a train pulls about 50g forces. Over 10g's is usually fatal. If the train had gotten a better piece of the truck, it might have put it right on the trail below.

If only he had been a Railfan he would have known how poor his decision was. Its going to be a challenge getting someone to come out there and get that truck back up the hill.
@Jaw Tooth.... What's up brother I'm a fan I learned of your channel from watching shoestring's channel. You would be surprised how vehicles stall and I'm sure it happens so fast!! Back in the 70's I lost my grandma and my grandfather lost both his legs at a RR CROSSING that didn't have a arm and was a sharp bend in WV it completely tore the car in half and car's back then we're made really well but I'm happy these folks got away ok the truck's replaceable!! 2 things I’ve never done while driving off road. Drive below high tide mark and drive within 6 feet of railroad tracks.
I think one youtube channel is basically a tow company recovering vehicles stuck on a beach. I don't know why people want to drive on the beach anyway, pretty sure its illegal to get as close as they were anyway.

That’s what he did right before impact. If you look at the video again, you can see the truck roll away right before.
Had a similar incident happen to me a few years ago. I was sitting behind an older couple in a traffic jam. Where we were sitting there was a railway crossing with lights and barriers, and then a weird merging intersection. The line started to move so the people in front of me started heading towards the crossing about the time the lights and bells started going off. The driver tried to back up but he was a little too slow and got caught by the crossing gate. I watched in horror as I saw the train coming down the track. Thankfully the driver had managed to back far enough way so the train wouldn't him (the crossing gate was literally sitting on his back windshield), but it was a very close call. A very scary lesson in train safety that almost ended with a couple of deaths.
If you find you are caught by a railroad gate and in danger, just bend it back or snap it off with your vehicle. They are made of hollow fiberglass square tubing. Not heavy and will bend and break especially with taller vehicles. Will probably just ride over the roof of a smaller car. Scratched paint is better than a crushed car. Too many videos of vehicles with gates on them and frozen drivers getting hit. Just make sure you report it if you do break one.
I cant believe a judge would even allow the guy in the truck to sue the railroad. How can you drive onto active tracks committing trespassing and blame the RR for putting you in danger.

With as much as we railfans are out at the tracks your lucky this is your first. In my 30 years of railfanning I've seen three cars/trucks hit. Two ended very well, just bumps and bruises. The third still haunts me to this day. Car with family stopped at gate and tried to beat Amtrak. The family lost. Mother and two sons dead at the scene and dad (driver) was a mess. Not sure if he lived after going to hospital but I'm sure he probably didn't want to after killing his whole family.
All completely preventable. That's the really sad thing: it didn't have to happen!!!
That dad can go to hell, and get the worst dad award! You just killed some people that didn’t even get to live anything close to a full life, must have been some awful last moments to put an end on a short as crap life! That dad can burn in hell for wrecking what could have been an amazing two life’s!
We had an incident in Rantoul IL, where an Amtrak broadsided a Camaro at 90 mph. Gawkers came out to see what they could. One idiot stopped his car on the other track of the two track railroad. A freight train was running about 60 mph on the other track, when the driver realized a train was coming. He tried to back up off the track, but ended up losing the front bumper to the engine. Don’t park on railroad tracks for any reason. The Camaro lost four young men that night.
Its grusome to be the ones having to witness or clean up the victims. Wouldnt be much left of them .
Crazy thing is that the truck looks fixable. Them old GM trucks are tanks and can take huge hits and be basically fine
That GE Dash- 9 CW had some damage to the step support.
Honestly, that old truck could probably be rebuilt. New cab, doors, fenders and grill be good to go! The frame didn't look twisted at all.

😨 leaving yer girl & front end of truck over a rail... next to a ravine?? Could've been manslaughter!! What an idiot. Rail system in Scotland completely different - maily local travel - but careless accidents still occur. Doing the old Highland track (now cycle-track) on the Callander to Oban route in a couple of weeks. The rail routes we lost in the 1960s is still heartbreaking... though the many beautiful walk/cycle routes give pleasure to tens thousands ❤.
Thank you for posting this one. It is so fortunate that no one was hurt, but it is also a valuable reminder that ANY track can have a train at any time.
You made the correct choice NOT to cross that track knowing that trian was coming.
Its not like it was an abandoned line. Track was clearly in excellent condition.
Very rare pickup. Most of a ‘67 body is one year only parts. The hood and grill are the only carryovers to ‘68. Differences are minimal, but important.
Saw the short version came for the long version I’m glad I did.. 12” back I doubt the train would have hit the pickup, what a goose!

I have not seen on the media demonize the railroads at all. They're usually pretty upfront about the car drivers error in these situations.

Wow! Poor 1967 GMC C/K pickup truck! That’s a bummer! It’s a shame that that all-American classic truck had to be mistreated by the owner and got hit by a train! Like why? That truck should be a nice vintage one to take to a cruise show or a big classic car show. That’s just my opinion! Plus I like General Motors (GM) pickup trucks a lot!

Pretty sure I shook my head about ten times. That was way to close of a call & the gentleman tempted fate by not getting away from those tracks immediately. Extremely blessed to walk away unharmed and only lose his vehicle.
I could only think "I hope he's not still holding on to the door" as the train hit it.

You know, the railroad would be obligated to report the incident to FRA. FRA would take the cabin cam. Would be interesting if you did a request for the cabin cam footage as a followup.
Something similar happened in my hometown around 1985. A truck died one the crossing, honestly I think it was a blue 68' GMC. The driver got out safely but a train hit it and shoved it about 1000 feet down the tracks before it flipped into the woods. I swear the twisted wreckage is still there today!

So sad for the truck. That's my favorite generation of GMC. My dad had a '69 Camper Custom that he gave to my brother. I have a '72 baby blue shortbed that I bought because I just had to have one.
It's too bad the owner didn't immediately back the truck off the track. Two feet would have gotten it out of the way. I was hoping that since only the front bumper was over one rail, the truck would just be pushed back by the locomotive. Sure enough it was. I'm an engineer. We tell all the trainees there are two types of railroader. Those who have killed somebody...and those who will. I've hit an abandoned Kia and two pedestrians in my 19 years.
Gosh. How hard is it to respect the rails. You are expected as a truck driver or really any vehicle on land/sea/air to go your hole carer without anyone dead. Only vehicle that the driver physically can not stop in time even if doing everything correct... I mean common a train showing up unexpected is far more rare then a aircraft accident. Since you know... They are not expected to go far from the rail tracts. They do not fall out of the sky or suddenly shows up in a intersection unheard or unseen. I mean not to the extent flying tin cans or electric/silent vehicles with the driver looking at a phone screen etc etc etc.
It is such a hunt for pedestrians crossing the roads legally or illegally just driving a car. Not to talk about driving a high cab truck driving wrong way or crossing walk paths etc etc that normal people do not expect a vehicle having to go to get passed a tight space with a log ass trailer and truck.
To think to have run over people being on a NO GO ZONE that people know they should not be in is just awful. I mean the worst stories I have heard is a biker being turned into nothing but blood on the highway asphalt due to a car in front making the bike sway into the trucks front smashed between the truck and the car. The truck driver did not know there even was a bike involved at first until the cops showed up asking about the blood behind the truck.
And a lady first time ridding a bike without pedal brakes going under the trailer wheel with there head. I mean common they are sharing the dam road and it is rare to happen to a truck/car driver. Why are trains worse off! They are impossible to miss. You mess with them or you are 99.999999% safe from them. There is very few excuses to mess or fight a train. They win every time in there own way. At worst they go off the rail but they still are going to win. EvErY TiMe

When I was a conductor for the Carrizo Gorge RY, I occasionally substituted on the Tijuana and Tecate in Mexico. The conductors down there told me that they knocked a vehicle onto the sidewalk at least every 2 weeks. Once it was a small pickup that went through the front of an ice cream shop. Because we were operating in the city, we were only running at 25 mph most of the time. So we never killed anyone and I only heard of one bad injury when a van got wrapped around the poles that protected a ground mounted electrical transformer.
Great video. I happen to be there that day. We came out of the tunnel just as the train came to a stop. One of the people in our group dry one of the train workers down to see if anyone was injured or worse. Thanks for making this video.

I turned down a set of tracks late at night in an area I was unfamiliar with when taking someone home at night. It was gravel roads and I thought the tracks was a road to turn down.
Got high centered but before I and my friend could figure out how to get it unstuck we heard and saw the light of a train. We got back about 100 feet and saw a rainbow shower of sparks and fire.
Had a full tank of gas and the rear bumper got pushed to where the back seat used to be.
Melted the aluminum transmission even. (little Ford Escort - early 90's?)

A second time was a near miss. My Firebird ran poorly and as I slowed for the tracks (huge hump that you could only do a few miles an hour over) . . . it died.
It would not restart, then I saw the train coming. Got my wallet and got out but then thought there was time to try to start it one more time. I was so panicky that I forgot to press the clutch (5-speed manual. THANKFULLY (in hind sight) I had years ago wired around the neutral safety switch so it would crank even with it in gear. That's when I realized that by cranking the starter the car was moving forward slowly. So, I held the starter on and got clear of the tracks with 10-15 seconds to spare.
Yes, I was prepared to jump out again if need be - major adrenaline rush - I could have been out in a flash had it come to that. So I'm now one and one. Lost one car, saved one car :-0)
Hope he don't give up on that poor Ole truck. Although it is in the state it is in it still can be saved

I do not live near NS but I have seen many people just ignore railway crossings while railfaning and almost get hit multiple times it’s a shame that situations are common and the thing people are missing is common sense I hope that this video helps people realize the serious effects of being reckless not just around trains but in other situations to thanks for sharing this video and let’s hope situations like this can be reduced by this video.
I was on my way to getting a haircut TODAY, and I came upon an intersection, just beyond a railroad crossing. I stopped short of the railroad tracks, knowing my pickup would not clear on the other side, within the line of stopped vehicles. When the traffic ahead of me did move farther up, I proceeded across, clear of the tracks on the other side. I looked in my rear-view mirror, and saw the vehicle behind me, stopped on the railroad tracks.
What motorists don't understand is that the vehicles in front & behind you, usually cannot move out of your way if you find yourself in the way of a train bearing down on you that takes a mile to stop.
Well unfortunately some drivers don't care this accident was completely preventable if the driver just decided to put their truck into neutral letting it roll backwards a few feet away from the tracks but like with all trains you never know when one might be coming down the tracks as trains don't operate on a specific timetable unfortunately this guy learned that the hard way by having their truck totalled. And I've see far too often where I live with drivers at crossings when the gates are down, the red lights are flashing, and the bells are ringing they don't want to wait a few minutes to let the train clear the crossing so they drive around the gates when they do it they're playing Russian roulette as when you get into an accident with a train you'll lose everytime. And most people think a train that is 3/4 mile or longer in length traveling at 55 mph can stop quickly but it can't as it take a train a mile or more to stop after the emergency is applied so live by the saying of Operation Lifesaver stop, look, listen, & live as when I approach a RR crossing gated or not I usually stop, put my windows down, turn off the radio, look both ways, and listen as the gates like all mechanical devices can malfunction without warning.

I lost my grandma and my grandfather lost his legs back in the 70's at a RR crossing in WV that had no crossing arm and was around a sharp bend the car was completely tore in half but I'm glad these folks made it out okay ✌️🙏🙏
I've been at a few crossing competitions like that. Texas has many of them every year. The weird thing is that the annoying guy driving the locomotive always wins the real estate and sometimes kills his competitors, like winning isn't enough. The Govn'r is gonna have to do something to level the playing field so cars and trucks have a fighting chance.

My Grandfather worked for Chessie system before it merged into CSX here in Richmond Virginia. This would happen all the time when people would wanna commit insurance fraud and they wanted a new car. He was always told not to slow down and just let it happen because there’s nothing you can do. Of course if that happened nowadays I’m sure they would’ve gotten in huge trouble.
Total loss if they didn’t have special insurance for the vintage vehicle… regular car insurance doesn’t cover old cars…. How it was when I had my antique… and… what I’m wondering is if the wife “told him so….” I always listen to mine…. 😢 another classic lost to stupidity.
For tangling with a train that truck really isn't smashed that bad, if it hadn't turned over it would have been repairable. Heck roll it over and let the oil settle and you could probably drive it out of there. If you fix that dang battery cable.

Shoot that truck ain’t totaled, that frame is straight! roll that sucker back over find a new cab, fender, grill and hood and go! I love how there was more damage from it rolling then the initial impact from the locomotive. They don’t make trucks like they use too, a newer truck 2008+ would have folded in half like an accordion

I'm from the UK, the thing I was amazed by was how long that train was. That is never ending.
A large contributor to death of the rails over here in the US is in fact the length of the trains, being up to like, 5 times the length of sidelines, keeping freight from being able to pull out of the way of passenger rail, slowing it down, driving down interest, leading to freight getting bigger shares of the rails, etc....
We have policies that state passenger takes precedence, but it isn't enforced so no one cares

All things considered, the truck looks much better than I expected.
I remember back in the fall of 1996, I'd moved to Bowling Green, Ohio for grad school at BGSU. My apartment (the upper floor of a 2-story house) was right across the street from the Conrail mainline coming down from Toledo. Of course, whenever I'd hear a train coming into town, I was often at the window looking out to watch. One evening I heard a northbound coming into town. He was blowing for all the crossings and suddenly started rapidly hitting the horn. Shortly afterwards, it sounded like he stopped, and then I heard sirens. I got my scanner and turned it on. The engineer was telling the dispatcher that three guys in a car tried to cross where there wasn't a crossing. The car got hung up on the track, and the guys were all out trying to push it off the track when the train showed up. He said, "They couldn't get it off the tracks. We moved it for them."

If you look closely under the fuel tank of the second unit of the train, you can see the truck being pushed off the embankment by the train, luckily nobody was hurt or killed but I would imagine it was terrifying to watch that unfold right in front of you.
F around and find out. My dad was a Railroad engineer for 48 years for ICG and CN, ive seen pictures of the damage trains do to cars, trucks and semi trucks. When i was 13 i went to work with him and a semi ran a crossing where he was switching cars. the truck ran into the side of a boxcar at 30 to 40 mph. Hardly any damage to the train but destroyed the truck. Trains dont play. The worst incident he told me about happened south of Memphis in Mississippi. A guard from the correctional facility was on the phone and ran the crossing. He was killed and 8 others with him in the van out on work detail. STOP, LOOK and LISTEN..
Can’t believe you captured this on camera. An amazing location to visit and take off-road vehicles closed down due to this and it’s all on video. Been there a few times before it closed and loved going.
Expensive lessons at cheap prices. I'm happy that he and his wife are safe.

Well, trains can stop... eventually. Don't know why he drove up on active tracks or why he didn't let it roll back a bit after it stalled. Glad no one was hurt, but that truck died when it didn't have to. At least it will probably get parted out to help some more responsible truck owners keep theirs on the road.

Had a call on night when a drunk chick drove onto the CN main line in Hammond, LA. Luckily the train was traveling at 30 mph. Her car flipped onto it's roof. She was ok expect for some abrasions.

The sad part is the guy was offered help and refused. To make it worse, he then decides to ask for help when the train was nearing the truck without any regards for the safety of the people who initially offered him assistance.
It's kind of like the kid who enters the baseball game who isn't a star player; the ball will find you. Same thing here. Get to close the track and can't move the vehicle ... the train will find you. Stupidity is still a common thing in 2022, smh ...
This is a peculiar incident for several reasons, mostly because it was so easily preventable. But mostly I'm confused as to why the truck rolled as easily as it did. It doesn't look like the truck actually was hit all that hard by the train itself.. obviously the truck was holding itself on that grade it was on somehow. I wonder, was it in neutral? Parking brake on? And the parking brake was weak? If it was an auto was it in park? I would've thought the train would just shove the truck away and worst case scenario this truck would need a front clip. It's curious to me why it rolled. Anyway it's a waste of a hard to find truck. So easily prevented.
