  • John Cale has done it all, from co-founding The Velvet Underground to producing some of the 70s greatest records. Kyle Meredith sat down with Cale to talk hip hop, Bieber and Pharrell, and the state of rock the night before his Big Ears festival appearance.

I'm 32 , and John Cale at 70 is more hip and with it than I could ever be. Amazing.

Wow. That was a great interview to Mr. Cale! He is my favorite. Never loses his edge. Thank you.

      +Lisbeth Scholl Great taste.
He's in my definite Top 3(along with David Bowie and Nick Cave).

Hearing John Cale say "Drop It Like It's Hot" is just surreal. I didn't know he liked hip hop so much. I personally despise it. Still, whatever he did on Nookie Wood was great.

Great interview. Interesting comment about reissues. Any idea which albums he's doing there?

+MoSamDom He was already working on the Music for a New Society reissue & its re-recorded version (which was released this January) but he was trying to keep it in secret. He saves everything in secret until the right time...
