Getting a good first round in Twilight Imperium is super important for increasing your chances to win. The resources in this game are scarce, so getting as much of them in the first round, will leverage your progress for the remainder of the game.
In this video I will give you beginner tips, on how to play your first round as the Mentak faction/race in Twilight Imperium 4 including the Prophecy of Kings expansion.

I recently had a group of friends invite me to play TI for the first time. I have yet to play but I am loving the way you explain each of the factions. It has been helping me get up to speed very quick!

If you must take a yellow tech, I'd highly recommend predictive intelligence.
The ability to shuffle around CCs in the final rounds can be the difference between an epic round and "meh".
Yeah, that is actually a good idea. Flexibility in the end game is key, so having a few extra command counters in your tactical pool can make a difference :)

Can mentak pillage a tg off someone who has trade? they gain 3tgs can mentak take one ... or is it - the player needs to have 3 tgs already on their player card. Great Video Keep Them Coming!!!
Yes, Mentak can Pillage 1 out of the 3 trade goods another player obtains through the Trade Strategy card. The timing window for Pillage is '"After" a player gained trade goods, so the player got at least 3 trade goods on his sheet, after resolving that card. And thank you for your kind words :)
Yes they can pillage when the Trade card is played (if they are neighbours). If the neighbour gains tradegoods (in this case) or resolves a transaction, Mentak can pillage, if there is 3 or more tradegoods on the neighbous sheet
