    Same button lock sticks worse on my new Sencut Sachse Guibourtia wood scales, black stone wash. its a beautiful knife but I thought maybe its the wood scales. What is the size of the screws?

    Thanks for the vid, I love my Sencut Crowley and Watauga but they have some stick if I open it too hard, I'll have to polish them up and hope it solves it

    I'm having the Exact same issue with my chevalier! Started as soon as I got it- before I even really used it! Thanks for the help

    This didn’t work for me at all and I put a gun worthy polish on it . Oh well . Emailed civivi because they can have it back and figure out what went wrong and how so many of these pos s were let out to ruin their reputation . It’s a nice knife except for the button b s . Mine had black coating on the part where the button hit so I thought it might be that . Seems like the rub is near the back of the blade. 2 nd attempt worked , lol 2000 k rolled on a Qtip . Went to town on it but now we know thanks to you . I almost thought the button was rubbing on the liner but it seems as you say . Kudos bro 👍👍. It’s not quite gone nuts a hell of lot better and I have you to thank for the info .

      I tried and it definitely made it better. I think mine is the button lock firing out too quick when I deploy my blade. If I softly flick it or use the button it does not stick due to me letting the button out softly idk I think my lock is coming too far out the socket and getting hung up lol any ideas on a fix or should I send it back. Its the sencutt watauga btw

    Thanks. Gonna have to try this on my conspirator. My chevalier is pretty good, but my conspirator is horrible.

    Try putting magic marker on the mating surfaces of the button and the blade. This trick works for lock stick on framelocks and linerlocks, and will most likely work for button locks too.

    • @bladesandedc
      @bladesandedc  Před 2 lety +2

      I have used sharpie and pencil lead before and it does work for the short term, but you have to continually reapply it. Polishing this edge should be more of a permanent fix.

    OK...Button Locks...I have a Kizer Hic-Cup, a CJRB Pyrite, and a Civivi Chevalier..(Blk. SW Blade, Blk. CF scales). The Kizer & the Pyrite are another discussion..LOL..but my Chevalier was perfect, no stick. NONE. Which gave me confidence to purchase The Ferrum Forge/WE Stinger (red & black PHAT CF...really beautiful) with no hesitation.
    OH..BOY!
    Your overview was helpful. I am a very experienced knife tinkerer and have all the tools (except your silicone tool holder & micro swabs which I just ordered 😁). I am a HUGE fan of WE...have and have had MANY! This was my first outright disappointment. The button-stick on my Stinger was even worse than your Chevalier. As a careful guy, like yourself I "polished" first...was getting nowhere and had to get out a "ULTRA FINE" stone grinder for my dremel and carefully go at "the notch" and then polish it down. The knife is perfect now...but your average consumer should not pay $200 for a knife that sticks like that. NO WAY.
    You did a nice thorough job showing and discussing this issue...THANKS! 👍

    • @bladesandedc
      @bladesandedc  Před rokem

      The thing is your average consumer isn't going to go through the trouble for a $30 knife much less a $200 knife. These knives should never leave the factory with button stick. The quality control is terrible when it comes to button lock knives.

      I am surprised that WE Knife Is sending these out. They are such a great manufacturer….
