As a previous hospice Volunteer, CNA and now a Volunteer Coordinator, I want to express my gratitude to you. 🙏 Thank you for expanding on your experience. Continued blessings to you...

As a Volunteer Coordinator I want to thank you for not only your service but for documenting the experience from the Volunteers point of view. Often I hear the stories from the patients or the families but not often from the view of the volunteer in such a candid manor.

So glad I found your video. I am considering volunteering for Hospice. As I know first hand the difference the organization makes. So hearing the experience of a volunteer meant alot.

It has been pretty amazing. I meet with a sweet little lady who is bed bound twice a week. She has unimaginable stories to tell, and I love it when her eyes light up when I visit.

my experience was very similar. he was really excited when I showed up and a little sad when I left! most of our time was spent watching old western TV shows and stories :)

Great video, there are some that believe there is no death, and as a result they have never died. I am not one of those, and have seen death happen to pets, friends, and family members and I am currently reading a book that talks about how we die called, "The Good Death, an Exploration of Dying in America" by Ann Newmann.
I too want to volunteer in Hospice Care. I believe I can be there for somebody that might need somebody to be there for. Thanks for your service to those that are close to their journey and I believe it helps when it will be time for your journey home.
They say, "life is fast" but at your age you probably don't see it. Time is different at different stages of your life. I remember in third grade, I'd be in a classroom at school and be so bored and 3 PM seemed like years away. Time is different at 60 than at 20, and I imagine will be at 80 verses 60.
I feel it is great that somebody that is twenty years old is helping the elderly in their later stages of life. At your age, I was only interested in meeting girls and going to clubs. Now at 60, I'm thinking of life's ending more and trying to figure out how to make what remaining days ahead of me the best days possible in doing whatever I can to make things better for me and others.
I strongly feel hospice volunteering would be a great way to give back, and thanks for what you have done for others, I am sure it is and was strongly appreciated by all.
    Dave

I've been interested in death as well. it's a taboo subject we don't talk about in America which I find odd because it's something everyone will face.
a different look on death in a different part of the world: czcams.com/video/hCKDsjLt_qU/video.html
I am starting to notice time going by faster as I get older (I'm 27 now) as well. there's actually science behind why we feel time goes by faster as we get older: czcams.com/video/aIx2N-viNwY/video.html
      thanks for your kind words

Hey Kenny or any volunteers that worked in a hospice, has it changed YOUR views of dying?
I don't think I could witness somebody suffering or in pain, but I'd want to be there for help. Have you witnessed pain or suffering?

Awesome video, I have my first day of training tomorrow and wanted to see some insight on the experiences of others. This has only made me want to volunteer more, you have spoke to beautiful about it all. I’m sure you’ve inspired others to get out there and volunteer at their local hospice just as how you’ve inspired me. Keep doing your thing!

that's wonderful, man. Thanks for sharing. I've always wanted to volunteer in a hospice but my partner said that it may be too much for me especially if it's gonna be my first ever volunteer experience.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your experience and information. I too want to volunteer with hospice. My father passed away in hospice two weeks ago and I also met and visited another patient the same day my dad passed who was lonely and all of that has moved me deeply.

Okay Kenny I will thanks. Still getting back into the swing of life and work. I found a local Hospice group that sent some files to fill out and apparently I need to go get a TB test and they will do a background check. So that's all good. I will just take time.
